Chapter 60

Theda POV

As I slowly opened my eyes, regaining my consciousness, I wondered who had saved me and took me out from the rain. I found my small frame curled up beneath the covers on top of a soft bed. As I managed to sit up on the bed, the door was opened and Blake walked in with a bowl of hot soup.

"You're awake. Good. You need to have this soup now."

He handed the bowl of soup over to me as he scanned my expression. As I held the bowl, its comforting aroma filled the room.

Despite the nourishment before me, my thoughts were preoccupied with the events of the previous night. Then it struck me again.

Who saved me? I looked around, noticing that I wasn't in my new room.

"You're in the packhouse, Theda," he informed me. I nodded, observing my surroundings.
