SOPHIA'S POV

“What are you doing here?”

I really, really do not want to be doing this.

"You think you've won, don't you?" Emelia spat, her voice venomous. "Stealing Lucas's attention, flaunting yourself."

I stood tall, refusing to back down. "Emelia, stop this. You're embarrassing yourself."

"Embarrassing myself?" Emelia laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "You're the one who's embarrassed. A poor restaurant owner, clinging to Lucas's wealth."

My temper flared, but I kept my cool. "My restaurant is successful, Emelia. That's more than I can say for you. And Lucas values me for who I am."

Emelia sneered. "You'll never be good enough for him."

She took a step closer, her voice dropping. "You don't know what Lucas wants. What he needs."

"I think I do," I replied firmly.

Emelia's eyes flashed. "You're just a temporary distraction. A charity case."

The words stung, but I held my ground. “You think I'm the charity case? Look around you, Emelia. You're the one whose restaurant is crumbling. Yo

SOPHIA'S POVThe moment was magical, and the feeling unfurling in my chest was indescribable. It was the first time in a long time that I had really been seen by a man – let myself be seen by a man.Soft music drifted through the air, weaving around us like a spell. Lucas's hand rested on the small of my back, guiding me across the patio with gentle pressure. Stars twinkled above, casting an ethereal glow on the lush greenery. The moon's warm glow wrapped around me, making my wolf sing.As we danced, Lucas's eyes locked onto mine, warm and captivating. "You're radiant tonight, Sophia."Gosh! The endless praises…I smiled, feeling so alive. "You're not so bad yourself.”Our bodies swayed in perfect harmony, the tension between us palpable. The night air filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers.Suddenly, Lucas's phone vibrated, breaking the spell. He glanced at the screen, his expression tightening."Excuse me," he said, stepping away.I watched as he answered the call, his voice

NATHAN'S POV“Theon, what’s your progress on weakening their defenses?” I asked, marching into the meeting room.“Alpha!” Several people chorused.“Alpha, you should still be resting,” Beta Daniel said. He was the newest addition to the council meeting, replacing Beta Rodney. I'd be lying if I said his absence wasn't felt, but I decided the most I could do now was avenge him.I stood at the head of the table carved out from the stones of the ground, my piercing gaze sweeping across the assembled council members. The air was thick with tension, the weight of our mission settling heavily on my shoulders."My loyal pack," I began, my voice low and commanding. "Our pack mate, Victoria, remains captive under Malachi's tyranny. Tonight, we devise a plan to infiltrate his pack and bring her home."Beta Lewis, Victoria’s father, spoke up, his eyes burning with determination. "We can't wait any longer. Malachi's already broken pack law."Gamma Ava, another new addition, spoke up and nodded vig

NATHAN'S POVThe training ended, and people dispersed, heading home. I noted that they hadn't ignored my advice, walking home in teams of two. While people were shaken by the events of recent times, I knew it would take more than that to break my pack.“Alpha Nathan,” Theon called out to me. I waited for him as I caught my breath, the adrenaline still pumping through me from the fight.“Yes, Theon?” I grabbed water off the holder, chugging it. He waited for me to have my fill before he spoke.“How about you? How many guards would you like situated at your house?”I took a moment to think. “None. Station them around the pack. Protect the pack. They're the number one priority.”“But Alpha, Malachi has already attempted an attack on you. And he managed to get to Rodney too. There's no telling what he's capable of.”“Theon, I appreciate the concern but–”“You're the strongest of us all.” He interrupted me. I let him continue out of respect and his concern for me. “If something happens to

NATHAN'S POVI woke up with a start. My first thought was to search my surroundings for any intruders.“I’m safe,” I say out loud. The space was quiet, with only the sound of water running down a stream behind the structure. What was that? The dream I had was so lucid, it felt real. I looked around again, taking note that I was still in the meditation room. I remembered only wanting to clear my mind and search within myself for serenity. But had I actually been more exhausted than I thought I was?The insistent chirping of birds outside the window of the room dragged me from the clutches of slumber. I groaned, rolling over and burying my face in my hands. The dream, vivid yet frustratingly elusive, still clung to the edges of my consciousness. It had been a collection of symbols in harmony, a cryptic message delivered in a voice that resonated with the otherworldly hum of the full moon. The figure, her face obscured by a veil of moonlight, had appeared in my dream, her eyes like pools

NATHAN'S POVHis tone suggested that all was not well. I just knew this would not bode well for me.I looked up to the skies. Although the day had passed, it meant it was now closer to dusk again. How did the day go so quickly, and I had accomplished little to nothing? The man next to me still waited to hear my reply to his statement.“Good news and bad news, you say?”He bowed his head deeply. “Yes, Alpha Nathan.”I took a deep breath, steadying myself. “Alright. Let me have it.”He cleared his throat and began speaking. “Well, Alpha. I might not be entirely sure, and keep in mind that I could be wrong, but that figure in your dream? That was the Luna goddess.”My eyebrows scrunched together in confusion. “Luna goddess? There's no way. She has never met with any one of our kind before. Why now?”“Correction, Alpha. She has. Long ago, there was an organization of wolves called The Luna Pack. Legend says they were the most highly trained, skilled, and blessed wolves in our history. The

NATHAN'S POVWhy would the warning gong be sounding?I turned back to Elder Jesper, and he nodded in understanding. “Go. We will speak about this later on. Protect your pack.”I needed no other urging as I turned my back on him and ran towards the sound of the gong.I got to the clearing and saw people already gathered there. “Theon!” I barked, marching towards where he stood close to Beta Lewis and Rachel. Beta Lewis was currently a man who looked worse for wear, as the toll of his daughter's kidnapping was showing on his skin. But that also meant, that although he was the second highest in command, he would not be the best option for tactical operations.“What is going on? Status report,” I asked as I briskly crossed the clearing. People lowered their heads in respect as I passed them, and I nodded back.“Malachi sent a messenger to deliver something.”“Show me.” My mind raced at the possibilities of what it could be.Theon revealed a lock of hair, and I knew immediately that the th

NATHAN'S POVIt was almost time for me to meet the others at the agreed-upon spot. Everything was set. We had the element of surprise. We were sure Malachi wouldn't be expecting us so soon. We were trained, and we were ready. The only thing left was the silver around their territory. It kept bugging me how Malachi had been able to hold the knife even though it had been coated with silver. My chest seemed to throb from the ghost of the injury. I flexed it absentmindedly, deep in thought.“How had he held the knife?” I said out loud as I paced the forest. I was alone and close to the edge of the territory, my feet having taken me there of their own accord. But that's not the question I should be asking now.How did they get silver around their pack? They had formed a barrier around there with it.“I bet it was Malachi who did it,” I thought to myself. But how…I snapped myself out of it, deciding instead to focus on how to break it. I had promised that I would solve it, and it was up to

  • Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!   Chapter 52 - What Was His Endgame?

NATHAN'S POVThe air hung heavy with the metallic tang of blood and the acrid bite of ozone, a grim testament to the ferocious battle just waged. A storm had started brewing in the distance, lightning decorating the skies. My lungs burned with each ragged breath, but the adrenaline still coursed through me—a potent cocktail of fear and relief. Victoria, pale and trembling, was finally safe in the arms of the pack, her eyes wide with terror and disbelief. But the victory felt hollow. Malachi, the eccentric figure who had orchestrated this entire ordeal, had vanished into the night, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and a chilling sense of dread."He's gone," I growled, my voice hoarse. "Just like that." But it confirmed what I had always thought about him. He was never a true leader. This one act of fleeing the battle and abandoning his pack members had seen to that.Theon, who had gone after him, his skin matted with blood and his eyes blazing with fury, nodded grimly. "H

  • Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!   Chapter 220 – She’s not in the cell

THEON'S POVThe council room was a pressure cooker. It was almost as though the collective heat emanating from the council members could cook a hard, battle-seasoned wolf.Heat radiated from more than just the fire crackling in the hearth. It steamed from the anger in the room – wolves packed wall to wall, voices rising, tempers flaring. And no matter how tall I stood or how hard I glared, it wasn’t enough to keep the unrest at bay anymore.“He left,” Brannon, one of the newer council members, arms folded across his massive chest. “Our Alpha abandoned us.”“He didn’t abandon us,” I snapped, my voice ringing out like a whip. I imbued a bit of authority so as to make lesser wolves obey due to the chain of command. “He made a choice. One he told us about. One he took full responsibility for.”“He left,” someone else echoed. “When the fire hit. When the house burned. When Victoria and her father tried to kill him – he walked away. What kind of Alpha does that?”One of the younger wolves,

  • Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!   Chapter 219 – You carry fire and sorrow

SOPHIA’S POVAlexia’s eyes glowed with a strange, pulsing light – unnatural and far too old for her six-year-old face. They didn’t blink as she stared straight ahead, her small hand still raised, fingers curled like she was holding something I couldn’t see.“Alpha Nathan, leader of the Moonstone Pack… you are in grave danger.”My heart slowed down, stuttering in its steady walk. The air itself seemed to still, the warmth sucked from the room. I started to step forward on instinct – my baby – but Elara caught my wrist, holding me firm. Her grip was steady, but her gaze never left Alexia. Her silence screamed, don’t.Then Alexia’s head turned. Slowly. Mechanically, like her bones had turned to gears with knobs for muscles. Until her glowing gaze landed on me.“And you… Sophia of the broken bond…”I stopped breathing. The voice was still hers, still soft and small – but it was laced with something heavy and ancient. Something that didn’t belong inside or anywhere near my daughter’s body.

  • Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!   Chapter 218 – Alpha Nathan, leader of the Moonstone Pack, you are in grave danger!

NATHAN'S POVElara didn’t wait for us to react. She was already halfway down the hallway by the time I caught up.“Is it Alex?” I asked, heart slamming against my ribs.“Yes,” she said sharply. “But not in the way you think. Come on.”I didn’t look at Sophia – we were moving too fast – but I felt her presence behind me. Her heartbeat was quick, light footsteps trailing mine as we reached the twins’ room. When Elara threw the door open, everything in me froze.Alex lay in bed, his body drenched in sweat. But it wasn’t a fever. His skin glowed faintly, like moonlight was trying to escape through his veins. His fingers twitched, his back arched once, and his lips moved silently, like he was trying to speak in a dream.Alexia sat beside him, hands pressed to his chest, brows furrowed in fierce concentration.“Elara–” Sophia’s voice broke. “What’s happening to him?”Before she could answer, Alexia turned to us. “Shhh.”She didn’t shout, didn’t cry. Just raised her tiny finger to her lips.

SOPHIA'S POV“No way in fucking hell.”The words cut through the room like a whip cracking. Sharp and final. But the second they’re out, my chest constricts. Fucking hell. I see it in his eyes – the flicker of hurt – but I don’t care. I can’t care. Not now. Not when my entire world’s been turned on its head again, and he’s the one holding the match.Nathan doesn’t say anything. He just stands there in the kitchen’s low light, like he expected this. Like he knew it would go this way and still came anyway.Good.He should’ve known better.“You think you can just walk back into our lives,” I start, pacing because I can’t be still, my hands doing their part in the conversation too, “say a few heartfelt things, drop some ancient-wolf-magic prophecy on me – and I’m supposed to just what, uproot everything and go back to Moonstone?”“I didn’t say it would be easy,” he said, voice calm but low.I whirl around on him. “Don’t do that. Don’t use that calm, measured tone with me. You left. You ba

  • Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!   Chapter 216 – What the fuck aren't you telling me, Nathan?

NATHAN'S POV Her voice breaks the quiet. “We need to talk.” Fucking hell. I knew what it was going to be about. I nod, even though I already know this won’t be easy. I follow her to the kitchen, where the light is low and everything feels too still. It smells like honey tea and something faintly herbal, probably whatever she brewed to ease Alex’s symptoms. I take the seat across from her, my shoulders tight, heart steady but heavy. She doesn’t waste time. “I saw things tonight,” she says, arms crossed, voice tight. “Things I don’t understand. You touched Alex and… the way your aura shifted, your eyes… even the air changed. I felt it, Nathan. Through the bond.” I hold her gaze. “I know.” Her brows lift slightly. “You’ve changed.” I don’t argue. “I have.” She waits, like she knows I have more. Then she spelled it out for me. “What the fuck aren't you telling me, Nathan?” She’s right. It was time to finally, fully come clean. “I didn’t always know what I was,” I say quietly

SOPHIA'S POVBut that was clearly a problem for another day, as Nathan didn't give two shits about any other thing.“Where is he? Where is he, Sophia?”Nathan’s voice crashes through the house like thunderous waves in a storm. The walls seem to echo with it. My breath hitches. The room spins for half a second before my feet find the ground again.I turn sharply, hand gripping the counter for balance. He’s standing there in the doorway, shoulders tense, chest rising fast, eyes wild and glowing faintly gold. His wolf was really struggling to come to the surface and from what I could tell, it looked like only the gods themselves were holding him at bay. I’ve never seen that look on his face before. Not even when we fought. Not even when everything between us broke.“Nathan.” I breathe, but he’s already moving. Storming past me.“Elara!” He shouts. “Where is he?”Her voice comes from the hallway, calm but urgent. “Upstairs. Second door on the left.”“Nathan, wait!” I go after him, but he’

  • Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!   Chapter 214 – Where is he? Where’s Alex, Sophia?

NATHAN'S POVThe morning passed in a rare kind of peace. For once, the air in the office wasn’t heavy with tension or crisis. The team was in high spirits, and business was running smoothly. Priya had been grinning since she walked in, flipping through reports with a satisfied nod before updating me on the latest developments.“We finalized the contract with Veridan Enterprises. They signed off on everything this morning.” She said, placing a crisp folder on my desk. “And the partnership with HavenTech is set to launch next quarter. At this rate, we should probably think of hiring more people and expanding. We could open more branches and get into new ventures!”Camille poked her head in. “Okay, slow your roll Minnie. Your enthusiasm is starting to affect even Jacob. He looks like he's coming off a crazy hangover. You good there Jacob?” She directed the last bit at the man, as he looked a little worse for wear and not like the usually meticulously put together man we all knew. And wo

  • Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!   Chapter 213 – You need him

SOPHIA'S POVThis cannot keep happening. I moved quickly, my mind a blur of frantic thoughts as I carried Alex down the hallway, my heart pounding in my chest. His small body felt so fragile in my arms, limp and feverish. I could feel the heat radiating off him, a burning temperature that made my stomach churn. It shouldn't feel possible, and yet, it was.I wasn’t sure how much time had passed, but it felt like the world had slowed down. Every second felt like an eternity as I pushed through the house, my pulse racing. I had to get him help, now.I reached the kitchen, feeling like I was suffocating in the stillness of the house. I set Alex down on the counter, quickly dialing the number I knew all too well, that I had memorised out of necessity but never thinking I would need it again. The phone rang, and I couldn’t stop my hands from trembling.“Come on, come on.” I whispered under my breath, willing the phone to connect. The line clicked, and her voice, calm yet urgent, answered o

  • Alpha's Regret: Mommy, Daddy, We Want to Be Together!   Chapter 212 – Alex, baby, wake up!

SOPHIA'S POVI was still smirking when I set my phone down. Leave it to Maria and Grace to turn a casual morning chat into a remake of a freshly produced detective show about my love life.I shook my head, stretching my arms over my head as I stood from the couch. It had been a good call – lighthearted, full of laughter. The kind that made you forget, just for a little while, about everything else.Maybe that was why I had let my guard down.I ran a hand through my hair, exhaling as I headed toward the kitchen to rinse out my coffee cup. I had been up for a while now, yet the house remained silent. The twins usually slept in on weekends, but even then, I should have heard some noise by now – kids moving under blankets, quiet giggles, footsteps running down the hall.Instead, there was only stillness.I frowned but shook off the unease creeping in. Maybe they were just extra tired. Last night had been a long one, and after all the excitement, I wouldn’t blame them for sleeping in.Just
