The next morning, news of Jessica's disappearance hit me like a punch to the gut. My mind whirlwind in suspicion, anger, and something dangerously close to fear.

I didn't have to think hard to know who was behind it. There was only one person in my pack bold enough to make a move like that without my say-so.

I stormed down the hall, pushing open the heavy oak door to Priscilla’s room without knocking.

She was lounging on a chaise, looking completely at ease, like she hadn’t done anything wrong. The sight of her calm, composed expression only fueled my anger. I walked over to her, with my fists clenched at my sides.

"Where is she?" I demanded, barely keeping my voice steady.

Priscilla didn’t even flinch. She glanced up at me lazily, as if she had all the time in the world. "Good morning to you too, Antonio," she said in a mocking way. "Who are you so worried about?"
