04~ Be My Slave

OLIVIA'S POV

The last thing I remembered was talking to a terrifying stranger with dark red eyes. The rest was history…

*****

My eyes slowly opened, my vision was blurry until it adjusted to the environment. I glared around the strange room, this place doesn't look like a room to me. It had an awkward smell, and I could barely get a glimpse due to how dark the room was.

I realized I was in a dungeon. My eyes widened in terror at my realization. I jerked up, rushing towards the cell door. I started banging on the door continuously, screaming on top of my voice.

“Open the door! Open the door!” I yelled. “Open the door! Somebody help me!” I waited for a minute to get a response, but none came so I kept shouting. “Someone get me out of here!”

“Quiet, young lady.” A voice growled at me.

“Where am I?” I asked, terrified. “What's this place? How did I get here?”

“Like I said, quiet!”

“You can't just shush me, at least I need an explanation.” I fired.

“You should be grateful you aren't dead, because any minute from now you'll be called upon for judgment.”

Called upon for judgment? I wondered to myself. “What judgment?”

“You'll be sentenced to death by hanging for trespassing. Maybe next time, you'll have to learn how to mind your roads.”

I staggered back, leaving the door to my position. I was beginning to wonder if I had made a mistake fleeing, or if I had only ended up to my doom. Was I too forward in my decision? Because for no reason I was going to be killed any moment from now.

It was another blow to my chest to know that I have only a few moments to live. My whole life has been designed to be an ugly one. From getting rejected from the man who meant the entire world to me, to stumbling into the hands of a terrifying stranger who wanted me dead by all means.

I heard footsteps approaching towards my door and I listened. Whoever it was was whispering something to the other. “The Alpha has ordered that the girl should be brought out as soon as the preparation is over.”

My heart flew out of its chamber, and I could feel every beat of it in my neck, like it was going to leave my body.

Minutes stretched into hours. After what seemed like hours, the door banged open. I stared frightened at the manly figure who just walked in, his face had no friendly expression. And one could possibly die by just staring at his face.

“It's time.” He said, walking towards me while I made steps backwards until my back came in contact with the wall. “Where do you think you are going?” He questioned, grabbing my arm.

I struggled to let go, but his hold was too strong for me. I bit his hand with every strength in me. He yelled and in return, he slapped my face, causing me to fall. I could feel my cheeks vibrating, ringing songs of bell in my ears.

“Get up, we don't have the entire time to wait.” He jerked me on his shoulder while I kept kicking him with my legs and hands at the same time.

“Let me go! Let me go, you idiot!”

We were out of the building, but he kept walking towards a direction filled with crowds. He tossed me to the ground.

I felt a sharp pain in my left hand as I landed roughly on the ground. I found it difficult to move my body, everything hurts. Was this how weak I was?

“Get up!” The guard growled, dragging me to my feet.

“I'm going to ask for the last time, why are you here?” I heard the same terrifying voice I had heard the previous night. Everything about him spoke of authority.

I looked in his direction, our gaze fixed at each other. “I already told you, I have no idea where I was going.”

“It's not too late to say the truth, you know.”

I rolled my eyes. “It's not like if I have to tell you the truth you will spare my life.” I challenged.

“Try me.” A small smile crept on his face.

“Well, I already told you the truth, I don't know what else you want to hear.”

“I see you've got a bad mouth. So many people who were brought here would beg for their life, but you prefer to die young?”

“Not like you'd spare my life either.” Truth be told, I was scared – so scared that I've been questioning my fate since the guard brought me here.

I felt trying to play tough would save me, but it seems nothing was helping matters. “I see.” He nodded his head. “Well, we have zero tolerance for intruders and for that you will face your fate. Death by hanging.” He announced.

The guard dragged me up to the gallows. He forcefully grabbed both hands to my back, tying them with a rope. Then he held out the rope, fixing it around my neck. My eyes never left his, and he didn't take his gaze of mine.

Just when the guard was about to pull the rope, he commanded. “Stop!” The guard stopped.

He stood up from where he sat, walking up to the gallows. He had this unfading smile on his face, and I wish I could just smack it off. He was handsome, no doubt, definitely every woman's dream. He had sharp jawlines, light pink lips, his hair was as dark as the night. I would swear my heart almost skipped a beat.

Now he was standing before me, I froze under his presence. “I understand how hard you're trying to keep up with your tough act, but I'll tell you, you really do want me to spare your life.” I swallowed hard. “But… I'll only spare your life in one condition.”

I wanted every chance to look away, but I just couldn't help but stare into those blue hazel eyes that seemed to be the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen.

“Be my slave, and I'll let you live.”

Why don't she tell the truth? I'm not saying that she should beg, but be completely honest. He might surprise her.

if he had to put her to death, then there's no need for continuing the book that is why it is what it is
