31: Miscarriage

Once I was almost done with handling everything, Soleil was already a month old, and her sleep schedule had finally gotten better than the previous month. Previously, she used to stay away the whole night, but now she has finally learned to sleep at least four to five hours at night before waking up and playing beside me after drinking milk that I keep in stock from new moms of the pack.

No matter how tiring this fatherhood was, I was enjoying every single second of it. Just one smile from her, and I ended up forgetting all my tension, pain, and workload.

"I’m going to apologize to your future mother. I need a lot of luck today," I said to her while getting ready. I got shifted to a new building with Soleil and Grandpa, leaving the packhouse because, after what Lucy did, I couldn’t stay in that place without thinking about what happened there. I didn’t believe in ghosts or anything like that, but her face and the situation in which I found her still haunted me.
