The entire morning was spent chilling in the grand swimming pool of Wilderings Inn resort even though I did not know how to swim. The tubes came in handy to support my body, though I was already very petite. Anna, on the other hand, was more on the chubby side, so it was fun watching her struggle and cry out why this tube is too short for her boobs.
Wilderings Inn was one of the most famous resorts in the city, giving access to only the most privileged peopled. With Dylan by our side, who was the heir to one of the most influential families working in the real estate business, we easily got access to this place.
With an open ceiling, the sky covered in dark clouds that were trickling down on us as we played in the large private pool, and the line of so many snacks placed on the edge of the pool, we didn’t realize when hours passed.
By four in the noon, we got dressed in casual clothes again.
“This was fun.” I grinned at them, rubbing my wet hair with a towel. “What should we do next?!”
“Let’s go shopping!” Anna jumped in.
“I know where I want to go.” Dylan grinned.
“Don’t say the restaurant on the upper floor!” Anna flipped to him immediately with a sharp gaze.
The Wilderings Inn was famous for its interior, but more famous than that was they had at the upper floor. Since all the guests were VIPs, there were separate booths for every guest. A professional cook for every booth who would cook up any dish you desired. On one side of the large ceiling length wall you could enjoy the views of mountains trickling down little fountains and the rainy weather just made the view even more magical. On the other side you can enjoy the sight of the cook preparing the dish right in front of your eyes.
With such a premise, people could only dream of enjoying the dishes that were served at the upper floor. Although the cost was so high that only a selected few could afford it.
Dylan looked like Anna had ripped his soul apart with her words, “No food…?”
“It’s okay buddy.” I hid my amusement at his reaction, “let’s get out of here. I will give you a treat of Spicy Mexican food outside. The restaurant here is so expensive that I would have to give them my next five generations as slaves in exchange for one dish.”
We started walking out of the pool area to go to the lobby. Dylan bumped his shoulder with mine, teasing, “You drive a sports car worth millions to college every day. I refuse to believe that you can’t afford to eat in the restaurant here, Lighty!”
“That car isn’t mine.” I rolled my eyes, bumping into him harder to throw him off balance. He struggled and stopped himself from falling on his ass, making me and Anna burst out in laughter.
If it hadn’t been for Edge sending that car to me on my sixteenth birthday as a gift, I would never have been able to afford even a tire of that car. All the luxuries I had were all thanks to my supposed ‘fiancee’. There was nothing I could flaunt because it didn’t belong to me anyway.
“How about we just get a room here tonight for a stay?” Anna looked around at the white and golden interior of the hall, like in the place of royalty from the 1800s era, “we can chill out, and then go back home tomorrow? Fun night!”
I bit my lip, but then grabbed Anna’s hand and moved to the reception area. We asked about the cost of the stay for a night.
“$10,000.” The receptionist said with her ever charming, calm smile in a breathy voice.
That was way too costly.
“Mam,” the receptionist called for our attention, “This is the last available room in the resort. Would you like to book?” she lifted up the keys, extending them in my direction.
At that moment, suddenly all the people in the hall turned their heads toward something.
Wondering what it was that had snatched their attention, I also turned my head in the direction of their gazes, and what I saw left me startled.
Several people in black suit were surrounding a man in a tailored, expensive gray suit that showcased his body perfectly. His leather shoes were contrasting against the gleaming marble flood. The man had a sharp look in his eyes with a stern egoistic flare. Nobody dared to look him in the eyes. He was talking to somebody on the phone.
‘Shit!’ my body stiffened, ‘Edge?! What the fuck?’
The man who had snatched everyone’s attention within a second of his arrival was Alpha Edgar, my fiancee. Well, soon to be ex fiancee. Standing right next to him was some girl who matched his status. Though her aura was not as intimidating as Edge’s. The young girl was dressed in a beige colored bikini that showed her figure, and gorgeous face.
Unlike other men with power and wealth, Edge rarely appeared in public with a woman by his side. My mind started turning with several questions, ‘He is out in a resort with a girl…? Is she his girlfriend?’
As if he had sensed my gaze on him, Edge turned his eyes to me.
My heart skipped a beat. Immediately I turned my head back toward the receptionis, feighning nonchalance. With eyes clenched shut, I wished with desperation, ‘Please don’t let him see me. Please don’t let him see me!’
At that very moment, Anna grabbed my arm and literally shook it off my shoulder, crying out excitedly, “Light, look! That’s alpha Edgar! Oh my god, are you both destined?! Do you think he remembers you?”
The kiss. THAT DAMN KISS! Shut up Anna, for the love of god!
“Do you know the girl beside him?” Dylan inched closer to us, staring at the couple blatantly.
‘How in the fucking world would I know who and how many girls he roams around with?’ I cried out inside.
“Do you think he is here for you?” Anna excitedly shook my arm again. I grabbed her hand that was literally assaulting my arm and pried it off.
The dreams this girl has! Why would she even think that?!
Wondering if he had recognized me, I glanced at Edge again. His eyes came back to me while talking on the phone. I feigned to be looking everywhere around the hall instead of at him. He hadn’t recognized me. It was clear now. But to my bad luck, the girl next to him noticed his gaze on me, and really, like an animal changing its color, an ugly look of jealousy covered her face.
Ignoring them, I turned back to the receptionist, intending to take the keys from her, “Sure, we will-”
A hand slipped in between and snatched the keys from the receptionist’s hand, “What a bullshit. Do you think you can even afford it?”
Turning my head to find the source of the voice, I found the girl who was standing next to Edge staring at me with a mocking expression.
Do I even know her? Why the hell is she even talking to me?
“Ms. Willa.” The receptionist greeted her with a polite smile.
Willa… Willa Ray? Now I remember! She is one of the supermodels for top class brands. I had often seen her on the front pages of magazines and on TV in several reality shows.
She had black, curly waist length hair, lips painted soft, natural pink, and the nails painted lightest blue shade. The pompous smile on her face was breaking the facade of the innocence that her current look served.
With an egoistic smile, she said to the receptionist, “I will be staying here. Book the room for me.”
She then turned her gaze to me and eyed me from head to toe. I was wearing a plain yellow sundress with little flowers on it. Anna and Dylan were also in casual clothes. There was nothing fancy about our appearances.
The smile turned to a look of mockery on Willa’s face. I was pretty sure she was wondering why would a man like Edge even bother to spare a few glances at me. A girl who was no match to her.
“No need to pretend to be rich.” she smirked.
That nasty look on her face had already pissed me off. Her words just added fuel to the fire,, “Who the fuck do you think you are to judge if I can afford it or not?” I started. Then tilting my one hip I leaned against the receptionist's desk eyeing her from top to toe just like she had to me, “Dressing in a piece of designer bikini doesn’t make you 'rich'."
Willa glared at me as anger surfaced on her face, “I know college kids like you like to pretend to have ‘forgotten’ their wallets at home, so let us save our time. Who even allowed people like you to enter such a posh place?”
“Oh really?” I raised my brows in mockery, and took threatening steps toward the woman, taunting her, “do you own this place? Who are you to decide who can enter or not? You want the security guy’s job here?”
“How dare you?!” She started shaking in anger.
“What?” I mocked again, she started to stumble back, “you are already in your forties, right? Wearing a beige swimsuit that almost makes you look naked, flaunting the curves that you don’t have while hanging your arm around the old uncle thinking you look fabulous?”
Unknowingly, my words had not only offended Willa but also Edge. First I called him uncle, and moreover, the dress I had just commented on had been brought by him just a while ago. Even though Willa had picked many swimsuits, he had just randomly pointed at any of the suits for Willa to wear. With her small breasts and hips, the dress did not match her figure at all and instead made her look more like a rectangular cardboard box.
Willa’s face had lost all color. Being the only child of Ray family, she was treated like a princess everywhere. No one had ever dared to insult her in this way.
With humiliated stance, she turned around and stormed over toward Edge. I think it took all the power inside her to bring out the most heartbreaking voice she could muster, and then whimpered, “Edgar, throw this fucking girl out of here. She insulted me! And then she called you an uncle?! She also insulted your taste. She doesn’t deserve to stand here any more.”
Edge, who had been busy on the call ignored Willa and turned away from her to continue his talk. Though at her complaint his eyes came to me again and took a closer look.
Visibly his eyes dilated in recognition the very next minute. He had realized I was the one who had kissed him in the car.
SHIT!
He glanced at the girl next to himself, his lips curved slightly as if laughing at what Willa was wearing. Though it was there for a fraction of a second, the very next second there were no expressions again.
The moment Willa had headed over and complained to Edge, everyone in the hall had turned their attention to him, as if waiting when he starts to defend Willa. But to everyone’s shock, Edge’s lips remained sealed even after he hung up the call.
Willa looked like she had lost all her pride within a millisecond.
But her ego was even superior. How could she let a college girl insult her like this?! She changed the expressions on her face to flirty and cute ones and inched closer to Edge, but the moment she looked up and saw the frigid, displeased cold stare in Edge’s eyes, she froze in her spot.
At that moment, a man walked up from behind toward Edge. A familiar face, Edge’s secratary, Kane. Kane, who had heard everything that had been going on while standing a bit far away to discuss a business matter with a colleague now saw the faces of the girls whose arguments he had been hearing.
He looked at me for a moment as his brows furrowed together. The very next second his eyes widened in recognition and he immediately approached Edge, “Alpha, that girl is Mr-”
“HEY! You are here too?!” I exclaimed, immediately approaching Kane, “how have you been?”Kane was so surprised that before he could even utter a word, he was grabbed by his arm, and dragged to the side by me.I was pretty sure that my entire face was contorted in panic as I kept praying Kane keeps his mouth shut for now. I can not let Edge know about my identity! The last time we met I kissed him and now again we came across each other! If Kane spat it out right now, Edge will obviously believe that I did everything on purpose so he would pay attention to me.“Mr-”“Oh come on, it’s me, Kane! Twilight!” I quickly wrapped my arm around his neck, pulling him down playfully and changing the subject. I told him already to not call me Mrs.! He is going to blow my cover. I dragged him even more far to make sure we were well away from Edge.Kane’s face was filled with confusion as if a thousand questions were in his head with no answer.“Mrs. Darkmoon, what’s wrong? Alpha has not seen you b
Blaze… our alpha’s son.Throughout my last two years of high school, he had been my ‘secret friend’. I had a crush on him because he was always good to me. We had secret night outs, fun games, and everything else that friends do. I had naively thought that there was something between us. A special connection. I had fallen for him. That dream got ruined when out of the blue he announced to me that he was leaving the country to complete his college degree and I should just forget about everything that happened between us because his sister, Mariana was obviously not a big fan of mine. He said ‘my sister would not like it if she found that you and I are friends.’He said all that with a smile as if it was just an obvious fact and break
The mean girl gang and some other pack members cheered in the victory for Curtis. I was breathing heavily, barely able to catch my breath. The pain in my head had disappeared as fast as it had come so that was a relief at least. But still, my entire body was aching. I felt weak, and a little shaky.Dylan and Anna had scowls on their faces, but the moment I stepped up on the hill, both of them ran to me with some pack members who were cheering for me.“You were about to win! You almost made Curtis a loser, Light! I never knew that you are so great at running!” one of the boys cheered, slapping my shoulder.“For sure. You are the real winner today!”Their words brought a grin to my face.
EdgeMeanwhile, several hours ago at the Sigma Group Headquarters, a man strode out of the main building surrounded by bodyguards. Edgar’s secretary, Kane, opened the doors for him to get in before taking his seat, and driving off to a meeting. Keeping his back straight, Edgar rested his head on the back seat, and closed his eyes.Strangely, the first thing that flashed across his mind was the girl been coming across so often now.Barely a week ago, he had just finished a meeting at the Heavens Glaze Bar. The Sigma group was as large as any property business could get. Being the owner of one of the largest real estate companies in the industry, his work was never ending. Taking off his suit jacket, he chucked it into the back seat to drive back home.At that very moment
Twilight“Banish me?” I stared at Beta Archer in bewilderment. My mind was still trying to understand what exactly was happening right now.“The video of you screaming the words at the hill was displayed publicly at one of his important events. He has already asked his men to look into the matter. What the hell was he even talking about? What video? What public display?Perhaps he saw the confusion on my face pretty clearly. He asked me to check the latest news on the phone later on“Edge called me and asked me to banish you from our pack. I am assuming Edge would not ask me to banish you simply because of a viral video. Do you know him? Has anything happened between you two in the past that might have displeased him?”Without a pack there was no way for me to survive. I did not want to leave my friends, Rhett when I already did not have much time left. I didn’t want to die being hunted by rogues to become their last meal. Even though I was panicking, I met Beta Archer’s gaze and ans
The moment Edge arrived, a commotion started in the castle. The festivities started, and the party commenced. Despite having an aggressive personality, I knew this was the time for me to start staying out of trouble. It was never like I was the one who wanted to get into conflicts with Edge. He kept on testing my patience every time we came across each other. And now at this point, I just wanted to stay out of his eyesight like I don’t even exist in this world. As I slipped back in the dining area, I noticed Beta Archer entering the hall with the alpha of our pack, Fenriz. The crowd dispersed to engage in chats. Several groups had been formed by people to drink, cheer, laugh and gossip. From the faces, everybody appeared happy. However, behind all those smiles most of these people just hid political gains, and shallow wishes from each other. There was nothing genuine among them. Edge stood with a group of people with Willa by his side. With a smug smile on his face, Edge had tur
Gasps filled the air as they saw me throw a punch in Edge’s face. Uncontrollable chatter started echoing in the hall, speaking about me.‘Oh boy…’‘The audacity! She threw a punch at the Alpha King!’‘What the hell is wrong with her?! ‘‘This isn’t going to end well. Alpha Edge isn’t going to take this insult lightly.’To my misfortune, Edge shifted his head to the side at the very last second and dodged my aim with ease. My hand didn’t even touch his face. If it was anybody else, they would have forgotten it and moved on. But not Edge.He straightened the collar of his white shirt, and gritted in an icy cold voice, “How fucking dare you!”“Edge, it was an accident. Come with me, I have something to discuss with you.” Beta Archer chimed in to get Edge’s attention while glancing at me with his eyes and telling me to quickly go away.I scoffed and threw Edge a snide glance. Without batting an eye, I kept my head high, meeting his burning eyes with my equally indifferent gaze, “No, it w
The very sight of the old man was extremely sad. There were many caretakers and nurses around to take care of him very well, it was clear. But he did not appear old enough to be in this condition so soon. Five years bedridden is an extremely long time. He must have been suffering a lot. I turned around and then walked out of the house. Unlocking my phone, I sent a text to Edge, “You told me to go to London despite knowing about your grandpa’s condition?” I was annoyed. I would not have come here if I had known his grandpa is in a coma. The whole reason for my presence in London was to get his permission for annulment. How can I take his grandpa’s permission when he is like this? But still, it was a good thing that I had come to see him this time because eventually he was my relative too despite Edge and my relationship being in the papers only. If Edge hadn’t told me to come here, I perhaps would never have guessed or even believed him even when he did. ‘You asked for his address a
As she returned to the table, her anger simmered down a bit. However, her anger reignited when she noticed her phone in Edge's hand. She approached him, her anger flaring up once more, her footsteps heavy and purposeful. "Why do you have my ph-" she began, her voice laced with irritation.Edge lifted his face, his expression thunderous, and the anger in his eyes matched hers. "Who is Blaze?" Edge interrupted, his face filled with thunderous anger. The intensity of his gaze caused her to freeze for a moment before she turned abruptly and started walking away, her pace quick and determined. She immediately turned around and began walking in the opposite direction."Shit, shit, shit," she muttered under her breath, her mind racing with thoughts and worries. But before she could storm off, he grabbed her arm and twisted her around, his grip firm and unyielding. He forcefully brought her back to their sitting area, pushing her inside and locking the door behind them."Unlock your phone,"
The driver skillfully maneuvered the vehicle to a stop in front of the exquisite restaurant known as "Garden Octave." A valet promptly emerged to take charge of their car, while Edge, clasping Light's hand, guided her towards the entrance. A man stepped forward to greet them, immediately bowing in deference to Edge. "Sir," he acknowledged, before turning his attention to Light, his eyes widening in surprise. "Madam."Edge cordially shook the man's hand and introduced, "This is Twilight, my wife."Light's eyes widened in shock, but she suppressed the words that tried to escape her mouth to refute Edge's statement in front of the man. She knew all too well that challenging Edge's claim in such a public place would only provoke his wrath. They were guided to a secluded seating area, featuring luxurious chairs. Boarding the elevator, they ascended to the top floor. As the doors opened, they found themselves face to face with Dylan and Anna. Both friends directed their gazes towards Edge
Light felt somewhat thirsty at the very sight of the handsome man smoking before the window. She swallowed hard and wished for this peaceful moment to last a bit longer. Seeing her reflection in the window, Edge put the butt of the cigarette down and threw it in the dustbin by the door.Walking over to sit on the living room couch, he glanced at her and ordered, “Come here.”She saw his actions and frowned. “Why do you need to sit? Let’s just get this dinner over with already.” saying that, she directly headed to walk out of the house. But Edge grabbed her hand and pulled her onto the couch. However, when he snatched her back, she lost her balance and fell over him on the couch. Her hand grabbed his shirt on the way to her fall.Edge was quick to wrap his arm around her waist and pull her completely in his arms. “Ah!” she cried out before her body fell over him completely. Annoyed, she raised her head and glared at him with fury. The next thing she knew, he raised his head and kisse
hy the hell is this man literally everywhere? And how?!Wasn’t he supposed to be training on the other end of the ground? Light couldn’t help but bite her lip in frustration. She put her phone in her pocket, stabled the cup in her hand and raised her head. To her surprise, not only was Edge standing in front of her, but her entire class and some other pack members of same age group were also standing in a perfect order in the ground as if taking a military training.“Is it good?” Edge repeated.Confused, she blankly nodded her head without a word. Obviously it tasted good. Starbucks wasn’t cheap to buy from. The people around snickered at her response wondering since when Light had lost her tongue.Cold faced, Edge pointed toward a large tree with his eyes and ordered, “Finish it first, then come to training.”Following his words, she walked over to stand under the tree and sipped on the coffee. From a close distance, she watched as Edge adjusted the postures of the people standing.A
Grabbing her soft inner thigh with gentle fingers, he parted her legs. His lips parted from hers, and slid down to her throat. Bending down, he inhaled her scent deeply. He could not control his urges. His lips trailed down to lick her from ear to down to her side of thorat.Edge’s mouth filled with saliva in need of tasting her but then controlling himself he only touched her body with his hands. His hand touched her closely, with slow strokes. Reaching under the swell of her breast over her dress and then his fingertip swiped over the tip of her nipple.Light moaned in pleasure and moved and turned on her side, taking his hand along with herself. His hand engulfed her breast completely at that point and he moved along to lie right next to her facing her back. His mouth dropped in her neck, inhaling her scent while his hand gently pressed her globe. Her eyes dropped down only to be met with the hungry look in his eyes. He was licking the supple skin on her throat. The licks from hi
The very next second the arm around her stomach tightened. Edge’s face lowered to her ear and mumbled quietly, “Come outside with me right now if you don’t want me to carry you out of here.” His words were cold and scary. It was not a warning. It was an out and out threat.Edge turned around and walked away, storming out of the main door. Light hesitated for a moment but knowing she can not defy him right now, she put the food plate down and followed the infuriating man out of the hall. The moment she walked out of the pack house, a hand grabbed hers. He pulled her to the side, past all the woods until they were on the dark and quiet side of the pack house. She was almost running to catch up with him in fear of falling down.“Let go.” she hissed. He loosened the grip, but didn’t let her go. He stopped, turned around to face her and barked, “Don’t ever do that in front of me again!”‘Do what?!’ she wanted to scream, but biting her inner cheeks, she buried the words in her throat. She
The red color flew up in the air. Some of it fell on the side of her neck and face. The man standing in front of him also got the color on his classy, expensive black suit and on the side of his face. His hand lifted up to wipe off the color from her face but she stepped back before his skin could touch hers. The second Light saw that the man was Edge, her mouth snapped shut. She sobered her expression, freed her wrist from his hold, and turned away from him. Walking away, she threw the remaining bag of the red color on the ground since it was already almost empty.Edge saw her every move with a hawk's eyes. He was not used to being ignored. Especially by her. He had deliberately walked to her house and asked Olsen to pick him up from here without thinking twice. There was nothing in his mind, but a corner of his heart knew that he was ready to treat meeting her out of her house as an accident so that he could go with her to the party. When she walked away from him, he tried to not le
Arriving back at her home, he walked out, lifted her in his arms again, and took her to her bedroom. Her fingers clenched onto his collar tightly as a frown appeared on her face. He rested her head on his shoulder gently as he took swift, careful steps toward her bedroom. Guilt was filling his heart. He knew he had hurt her unintentionally with his actions and his words. The way she had cried kept on making his heart ache.Reaching her bed, he placed her down gently. As he tried to pull back, he got tugged back as her hand that was gripping his collar was still tightly clenched. He carefully tugged the cloth out of her grip. He then walked to the washroom, and opened a few drawers until he found the first aid kit. He grabbed a towel, wet it, and then walked back to the bed. He cleaned her wrist which had dried blood, put ointment on it, and wrapped it with a bandage. Thankfully it was just a skin deep scratch, but he could still not feel at ease. His mind kept on repeating the things
Edge wanted to comfort her, but he didn't know how. "Stop crying, I will take you out of here." That was the only thing he could offer her.Fortunately, it worked. Light stopped weeping and glared at him, her eyes and nose red from the crying. On a second thought, she realized that he was all she could depend on at that moment. Swiftly, she withdrew her glare and looked away.Having noticed her varying facial expressions, Edge felt a tug of attraction in his heart. Never had he laid eyes upon a girl so lovely. He cast his warm feelings aside momentarily and assumed his usual cold tone."Will you attend to me at the pack house tomorrow?"Look at her. Pale, trembling, and sweating. What's so frightening about this place? He could not understand what it was about the place that made her feel that way."I will. I will attend to you at the pack house tomorrow," she answered at once. "Are you thinking of how to get back at me when you get to the pack house?" he sounded calmShe wiped her
