The next day was dreadful, I thought all that had to do with Wendy’s sudden appearance during our walk the previous evening was done and over with, but she showed up again at the mansion, much to my annoyance. I was in the bedroom, sitting quietly on the bed and letting the rays of the sun that penetrated through the window dance on my face, while Ares was at his desk, blowing into a smoke pipe while he read some documents. His pinewood scent and that of the tobacco broiled sweetly and created a wonderful atmosphere around me, I was just content lying there.

I wondered when Ares and I would get back to work, it had been three days now and everything was under Jeremy’s control, I knew the weight of the work at the office and I was beginning to get worried that our time off will wear on Jeremy. From the documents that were sent in every morning for Ares to go through, I came to the conclusion that he was working from home for the mean time while I had nothing to do.

A
