Needs privacy

Kalila's POV:

Other than the main tasks I was supposed to do in order to leave this world, I had been burdened with several other responsibilities. The pack office work alone was challenging enough, dealing with Ares's sour attitude and managing that snake of a person, Wendy. And now, on top of it all, I found myself consoling Dahlia's best friend.

I was taken aback by her actions and even more surprised when I heard her hysterical sobbing. She cried freely on my shoulders, as if I had been her comforter for a long time—perhaps Dahlia had been. I didn't know what to say in this situation. Consoling people was not one of my strengths, and now, I was supposed to be Melissa's best friend, Dahlia. I had no idea what Dahlia would say in this moment. So, I kept stroking Melissa's hair while she muttered inaudible things that I couldn't make sense of.

"Oh my... you... you... I thought... oh my... I really thought..." she continued crying, and her tears soaked my shirt.
