KALILA’S POV

I got bored of waiting for Jeremy to come back, Ares’s acetic mood completely changed and thickened the atmosphere the moment he walked in. I had a feeling that whatever he wanted to say to Jeremy would be very important and I had the impulse to listen to what they were saying.

At first, I resisted the urge to go and eavesdrop on their conversation, but this was one of those rare occasions Nova was a bad influence.

“You're burning with curiosity already, it wouldn’t hurt to catch a bit of what they are saying and what’s making your mate angry.” Nova said in that smooth cooing voice.

She wasn’t wrong, I really wanted to know what they were talking about but what if the door suddenly swung open and Ares caught me? What would I even tell him I was doing there? No, it was too much of a risk.

“Don’t you know how Ares ends a meeting? The moment he rises to his feet, the meeting is over.” Nova said. “Common, just go.”
