Chapter 38

I had a lot to do and a lot to think about. My mind was wandering between the problems facing our society and my own personal emotional problems. For these problems, I had no solution and it felt like I was stuck in a loop.

"Do you want to go home or?" Nicolas asked.

"Just take me home. I'm tired." I said scratching my eyes that were heavy with fatigue. Thankfully, Nicolas drove me home without uttering a word. He could tell I was not in the mood for his usual jokes. I rested on the seat, and wished all my problems would just sink away as I shut my eyes, and I fell into a slumber.

I found himself in a serene garden, surrounded by vibrant flowers and lush greenery. A carefree woman, radiating joy, swung gently on a swing, her laughter infectious. I needed to go closer, to see this woman who could be so carefree.

As I drew closer, she turned around, it was a familiar face. It was my mother's, her eyes sparkling with warmth. She beckoned me to push her.
