Bailey’s POV

The last words of the doctor kept ringing in my head, “...Alpha, your heir died inside her."

I had been wailing and crying but I immediately stopped. Maybe I had heard wrong. I cleaned my eyes and sat up and addressed the doctor.

“What are you talking about?” I slowly took my head up and stared at the doctor. I dragged my very weak body to sit on the bed as I stared blankly at the doctor, my gaze moved to Alpha Grey's face to see if I was the only one that had second thoughts about what he said.

His grey eyes were filled with hurt and I knew I had heard right. I couldn’t help but let down my tears again afresh.

"Tell me that all that you have said is a lie,” Alpha Grey's thick voice growled.

The doctor backed away a little. Going toe to toe with Alpha Grey at this point was a bad idea for anyone.

“There is no lie in what I have said, Alpha. She has lost the baby. I'm sorry."

I looked at my dad. His expression was a mixture of sadness, surprise and confusion.
