Chapter 25- Stuck in the Middle

Salara’s POV

Having Henry fawn over me when Derrick is standing just off to the side is the most awkward experience of my life so far. Henry is currently telling me about how he finished cleaning out the spare room at Savannah’s house and that he can’t wait for Hayden and I to return to him.

I go to tell him that I will not be returning to the house with him, but something holds me back from speaking the words. Whether it is the kind treatment that he is currenlty bestowing on me, or something else, I do not know, but something is preventing me from speaking the words.

I can feel Derrick’s eyes burning a hole into my left side, but I can’t bring myself to face him when I am unable to commit to staying in the packhouse. Confusing emotions swirl around inside of me and I really wish that the both of them would leave so I could work through them without their domineering presence hovering over me.
