Erica
Queen Jade and Drake were already present when they reached Xavier's office. She also noticed Arnold and Vladimir outside his office. They bowed to her parents and nodded to her. Erica's stomach churned, her mom went and hugged Drake while her dad gave him a shoulder pat. She glanced at Xavier who smiled at her, calming her nerves. She shyly waved at him and smiled in return. She didn't know whether it was because she knew he was her mate but having him around made her feel safe.
"Hello Eve", Queen Jade hugged the Luna. Evelyn hugged her back. Pleasantries were exchanged for a while before they got down to business. Erica wrung her fingers as Jade asked, "So I guess you guys know why we are here?" Adrian nodded in affirmative.
"Uhm...I would like to say something", Erica spoke up. Five pairs of eyes turned towards her. She gulped. Why did I open my mouth? she groaned mentally. Jade who was leaning against the des
Xavier"I am curious about one thing?" Xavier murmured. Erica hummed, urging him to continue his question. "Last night...the guards said that they never saw anyone leave the building but you..." he trailed off, reluctant. Their relationship was so fragile and the moment was so delicate, he did not want to break the bubble, to break this delicate thread. However, the thought had suddenly occurred and he believed in clearing the air and Erica had already opened up about herself a little. He realized that Erica had not responded. She had neither pulled away from him. He looked down but he couldn't see her face as it was still tucked under his chin. She was even resting one of her hands on his thigh which...for some reason Xavier hadn't noticed until then. His wolf purred and he couldn't even ask him to shut up because his heart skipped yet another beat at this gesture of hers."I think...I teleported?" Erica's reply ceased any other thoughts
Erica"Rica! where have you been?" Lana shot up from the stool as soon as Erica entered. Josh was dozing with a cup of coffee in front of him. Erica shrugged, "Jogging". She honestly wanted to sleep, she was dead on her feet. Lana must have seen something in her expression because she had opened her mouth but then closed it. Instead, she offered, "Want to have some coffee?" Erica declined before trudging to her room.Even though she felt tired, she also felt a lot better, calmer. She burrowed her face further into the pillow her mind veering back to the time spent with Xavier. It felt good, to be sharing her thoughts and fears and theories with someone who believed you. It felt daunting at times and with the whirlwind of things that was happening to her she rarely had time to sit and process. Her cheeks reddened as she remembered how Xavier had reacted promptly when she was stricken with fear, how he had drawn her closer to him
EricaGlancing at her reflection in the washroom mirror for the last time she slipped into her black pumps which were the only footwear that she could label as 'fashionable' and made her to the door. She was about to slip out quietly when Lana's voice stopped her, "Going somewhere?" she looked over her shoulder and nodded.Lana did not interrogate her further but mumbled, "Have fun" and went back into her room. Erica's mood dampened a little. Her friendship with Lana was deteriorating but she couldn't help but watch how their newly formed camaraderie regarded with each passing day. Lana hadn't even spoken to Josh and her when they met up for lunch that afternoon. The cool air greeted her as soon as she stepped out of the building. Her gaze landed on the guards who stood stoically, eyes scrutinizing every person entering and leaving the hostel. She hitched her small backpack and started walking towards the main gate. Before stepping o
EricaXavier must have felt her gaze because he turned his gaze towards her and murmured, "It's alright", and squeezed her hand lightly. She did not know why but she felt happy again with his reassurance. She heard the lady - Stella giggle softly. She glanced at her and blushed. "Let me show you to your table", she motioned them to follow her. The place was not very crowded yet they got a nice corner table right next to the window which overlooked the yard. Her gaze traced the view beyond the window, the yard also had a few tables and chairs, decorated beautifully. The trees beyond the yard wee hidden in shadows, in darkness."The place is beautiful isn't it?" Xavier's voice made her look away, her gaze flickered to his face. He was smiling softly. She nodded then asked, "Just out of curiosity, doesn't animals...you know to attack the place? I mean isn't this place vulnerable to such thing?" This made her mate laugh. It wasn't a chuckle or a grin
EricaShe stiffened. Her gaze travelled towards Xavier who was blissfully oblivious. Not now, please. Can I not be happy for just a while and forget all the strange happenings and changes in my life, she thought miserably. Xavier was even humming a song and the atmosphere was beautiful until then. She squeezed her eyes shut as if that would make the voice cease as if that man would stop visiting her dreams. Only if..."Erica", Xavier's voice held concern and she wanted to throttle that unknown entity who disrupted her momentary peace. She opened her eyes and looked at him and when she saw his questioning gaze she said, "Uh...I was just...thinking", and chuckled nervously."Thinking?" he quirked an eyebrow. Now what am I supposed to say, she flailed for a suitable yet convincing answer. "Uh...the...kiss", she lied, well, not really because had she not heard the voice she would have been thinking about the kiss."Ah..that
Xavier"How was your date?" Arnold asked not even trying to conceal his amusement. He glared at him, "So Matty told you?"The beta shook his head, "You can be quite conspicuous when romance is involved and let me tell you I was elated to discover this flaw of yours". He could see Arnold smiling smugly. They were patrolling the forest along with other royal guards and some student alphas. He really wanted to go home and recount the moments spent with his mate but then duty came first."How did my conspicuousness give away my secret?" the alpha asked humorously which was rare for him after they took up their expected roles in the werewolf hierarchy. He sighed and looked up. "That's...rare", he did not turn to look at his friend."You must really be happy today", the smile in Arnold's voice was evident. This time he looked at him. Yes, he was, after a long time. It felt like he was breathing fresh air after staying in a roo
Erica Was the text too forward? she thought as she stared at the screen as if staring at it would make Xavier reply to her message. But she had debated as to how she should formulate the message and finally the message she just sent sounded perfect then. She smacked her forehead and plopped back on the bed. Sundays were supposed to be fun-days but the word had decided to escape from her life the moment she had stepped into this campus. Her train of thoughts was interrupted by a loud banging on the door before it was flung opened unceremoniously. Lana marched in, "It's 10 in the morning, today is the first Sunday none of the three of us are doing anything so get your butt moving and freshen up we are going to visit the town", her order did not leave any room for argument so ERica just nodded and hurried to the washroom. It's true that this was the first time all three of them were free. It has already been one and a half month. How time flies, she sighed before turning on the shower.
EricaShe felt as if the walk from the cafe to the hotel seemed to take an eternity. Xavier had held her hand while they weaved through the thin crowd. Her heart was pounding. Why did her mom sound so stressed out? "I know it will fall into deaf ears but don't worry so much. I am sure it is nothing serious", Xavier murmured. Erica chuckled a little at that. She replied, "I hope it isn't anything serious. But it is so unlike her. She is the calm on out of the two". When they reached Erica asked, "Do you want to go in with me?" she was a bundle of nerves at the moment. Her gut feeling indicated that something bad was in store for her. Xavier shook his head, "I think it is a family matter where I might not be a welcome addition. I have some work at the office anyway. But call me if you need to, alright?" Erica nodded slowly. Xavier leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her lips. Her eyes fluttered close. This was new to her. He pulled away and cupped her cheeks, "Don't stress too mu

[Erica]A few months later..."They have done an amazing job," Erica sighs as she admires the portrait of Queen Rosamond and King Merek, adorning the wall outside Rosamond Hall. She leans back into Xavier's chest. Her mate hums in approval, encircling his arms loosely around her waist. "You know, I always wondered why this spot was left empty. Now I know," he murmured against her neck. Erica felt a pang in her chest as she looked at the couple who didn't get their happy ending. She gazed at the smiling face in the portrait and hoped that wherever she was now, that she would continue to look after all of them. 'I hope you are finally happy now,' she thought ruefully. Erica turned around and facing him. Xavier looked at her lovingly, his grasp tightening slightly. Her lips quirked up. she wound her arms around his neck and went on her tip-ties to press her lips on his. The kiss started slow but wasn't devoid of the heat and passion that they shared. Xavier pulled her closer, nipping li
[Erica]She twiddled her thumbs nervously as she sat on the high-back chair, facing 20 other people excluding her mate and family. It had been two days since the incident. Xavier had taken her into his arms as soon as he had returned, kissing her and murmuring words of reassurance. Both of them had been left alone for some time before the whole family had had a discussion and Erica had disclosed almost everything to them. Them being Alpha Samuel. Alpha Tristan, Ava, and Mathilda. Arnold and Vladimir had also been there. To her relief and great surprise, none of them blamed her as she had expected. As Aldred had said. Instead, she saw a grim satisfaction in Tristan's eyes, she had received a tight hug from Ava, and Mathilda and Arnold had only been supportive and so had Vladimir. Alpha Samuel had grumbled, more shocked at knowing his mate's real identity than Erica's. He had been silent throughout which had heightened the tension. She broke down at the way her family had accepted her s
[Erica]There was fire everywhere. Someone was screaming. And then she saw him. His face had melted with heat, skin hanging from places as he stared pleadingly at her. His mouth was slack, he wanted to say something. Erica, on the other hand, was rooted to her spot. She wanted to back away but couldn't. Suddenly he stretched out his hand as if trying to grab her and pull her into the fire with him. She screamed, cried for help but no one was around. Not even Queen Rosamond. Distantly she could hear someone calling her name, she whirled around but the forest was too dark despite the flames. Was it Blackmist forest...no, she somehow knew it wasn't. But who was calling her? The voice grew louder and she noticed her vision turning blurrier. What was happening?...~~~~Her eyes flew open and she gasped awake. She sat up and realised that she was on a bed, in her and Xavier's room. "Erica?" she heard her mother's voice and snapped her gaze towards her. It was now that she saw luna Freida,
[Erica]She stood rooted to her spot as she saw the terror-filled scene unfold. Mouth agape, she could only watch as Aldred writhed and screamed in pain as he fruitlessly tried to save himself. Her eyes were wide as saucers as she took in the sight, unaware of the vigorously burning flames around her. She was oblivious of the fact that another spectre was beside her, watching a mage burning alive, the flames engulfing his body little by little. Erica was not aware that somehow the flames or the disobedient wind did not dare to touch her, that she was standing in a safe array created by someone. Tears streamed down her cheeks, unbidden as she stared with fearful eyes. Her lips trembled, a choked noise escaping her mouth. 'Did I do this?' the thought made her stumble back. She took a step forward, her limbs felt wobbly. 'But I didn't...' her voice echoed pitifully. As she tried again to walk unsteadily towards him, something stopped her. "Don't." The voice was familiar and authoritati
[Erica]"Aldred!" she thundered as stalked into the mansion, dragging two barely unconscious werewolves in her wake. She had been unknown of her capability, of her strength and of her fury. Her hand never faltered as she had continuously thrown Xander from one part of the study to another until the man had relented and grunted out Aldred's whereabouts. Her grandfather's demise had spurred something in her, snapped a thread that had been holding her to be civil to those who had done wrong, but then she had seen her grandfather falling limply on the ground, life sapped out within a few moments and that made her vow to herself that no more lives will be lost because of her, because of someone's misdeeds She felt a phantom ache in her chest, how will her mother react? She dismissed it as soon as it surfaced in her mind, filing away the thought for later. 'I will deal with it when the time comes,' she thought. She deposited the men haplessly on the ground and went to search the dilapida
[Xavier]It was good to let Leikos out for the first time in a long time. 'Only if Erica could see,' he thought wistfully. Forcing to keep his mate at the back of his mind, he weaved through the trees, his aunt and mother following closely behind. Tristan was by his side, in his human form but running equally fast. He skidded to a halt in front of the tree. Had he been in his human form, he would have widened his eyes in shock but Leikos stood very still as he saw Elias standing in front of the tree waiting for them. His eyes clouded with confusion. "Ah, sorry for having to keep you waiting," his aunt chirped and walked past him. "We contacted him when you and Erica were outside talking to them," his mother explained, her voice tight with concern and worry. He trotted behind the bushes that would give him some privacy. His joints cracked and relocated and when he finally stood up, he felt a dull pain and ache that he hadn't for quite a while. When he walked back, Tristan, aunt Jade
[Xavier]Ice coursed through his veins. Leikos growled threateningly in his mind. "No!" Before he knew it, the word was out of his mouth. Leikos continued roaring in his mind, restless and bloodthirsty. He wanted to rip off their heads for blatantly disrespecting him and his mate. Sir Leon shifted his gaze towards him. Raising an eyebrow, he reiterated, "No?" Beside him, Erica had stiffened, her palm had become sweaty. He could feel how she was holding on to her indifferent facade with every ounce of her will that was teetering. "What he means is that what if this concoction, whatever this is, turns out to be poisonous?" Queen Jade comes to his aid. Luna Freida hums in agreement, "It appears as if you wish to force your assumptions upon her." Xavier turned to look at his mother who had defiant look on her face. "I agree," Ava said. Xavier felt an amalgamation of emotions. He had earlier thought of his friend as envious and prejudiced but despite not knowing Erica properly she was su
[Erica]Her insides churned when she heard this. She stood rooted to her spot while Xavier asked in a menacing tone, "What?" Her ears were ringing as she knew that the visit wasn't a casual or a coincidental one. They had come for her. Her palm tingled all of sudden and her vision turned sharper. She had to go to that nook. Something told her that the nook had every answer she was looking for. A sharp intake of breath drew her out of her racing thoughts. She noticed Alpha Samuel stepping back, his eyes widened with ill-concealed horror. "What? Who are you?" Alpha Samuel asks, his voice barely audible. She furrows her eyebrows before she hears another gasp. "Erica, your eyes..." Queen Jade whispers and that's enough for her to understand the older man's sudden change in reaction. She whirls around and looks up at Xavier who does not react in any way. He rests his hand on the small of her back, a calming touch, a silent reassurance. Erica closed her eyes and willed herself to calm down
