“You woke me up just to tell me that the detectives are talking to each other via mental link?” Alpha Mercimer scoffed as his night routine was disturbed by the Gamma doctor and Omega nurse.

The Gamma and Omega stared at each other in fright.

“They are using a talisman to speak to each other. We’ve seen them do it many times.” The Omega nurse insisted.

Alpha Mercimer closed his eyes and controlled his annoyance. “If that’s the only thing you have to report. Get out of my room.” He demanded.

The Gamma and Omega bowed their heads and were about to leave when, suddenly, the Gamma doctor remembered something.

“Alpha, one of the Omegas has one, but it's a lot smaller and less decorated," he pointed out.

Alpha Mercimer’s eyes narrowed as it piqued his interest. “Which Omega?” He asked eagerly.

“The one with a pale face… If I’m not mistaken, she’s Alpha Qillalon’s mate.” The doctor remarks.

“Vesper Miles.” Alpha Mercimer mumbled, then gestured for the doctor and nurse to leave.

Vesper leaned on the wall, forgetting that the skin on her back was peeled off. Her wounded skin brushed against the rough stone wall, she winced in pain but remained in her position. She soon heard footsteps and then followed by a familiar voice, “I wouldn’t lean on those walls if I were you.” Alpha Mercimer suggested as he walked near her.“Thanks for the concern, Alpha. I’m enjoying the coldness of the wall against my back.” She replied sarcastically. She didn’t want to act nice to him as she knew what kind of scumbag he was. “You're quite sassy today, Vesper.” He uttered with malice in his voice, far from the friendliness he usually showed everyone.“So this is his true color. He is really a jerk... If there’s a killer in this manor, I wish it would be him, so I can rip him apart without any consequences.” She yelled internally. Her eyes dilated and slowly turned black, but she controlled herself and closed her eyes and when she opened them again they were back to pale gray. Obli

I’m planning to do it tomorrow during lunch.” She replied casually.Gertrude nodded, “I’m going to leave fresh clothes in one of the trees. It will be hidden by magic. Only you can see it.” She explains. She lowered her head, her hands fidgeting, and then hesitantly asked, “Can you make another cleansing potion? If possible, double the dosage this time.” Gertrude’s body posture perks up. “Why?” She asks in a softened voice that contains wonder.“It's for Qillalon. He drank my blood during our copulation and I think he is intoxicated with Vampire’s blood.”“Are you sure about that?” Gertrude asked in concern.Vesper shrugged, unsure if her speculation was correct. “It’s… The way he stares at me… Hi

She swiveled her head and saw it was hovering from a small roadside diner up ahead. She stopped dead in her tracks and slightly tilted her head in curiosity. She sniffed the air deeply. Her eyes dilated and her lips curled up in excitement. The smell of bacon, sausage, pancakes, and waffles. The scents swirled together in a harmony that tugged at something deep inside her, something she hadn’t felt in years. Her stomach growled. In Alpha Qillalon’s room…The room was dark, cloaked in a soft amber glow cast by flickering sconces on the stone walls. Dust motes swirled lazily in the stale air, disturbed by Quillion's first breath in what felt like an eternity. His eyes fluttered open, their sharp silver irises gleaming like molten steel as they adjusted to the half-light. His body felt heavy and stiff as if the days of slumber had left an echo of time in his bones. But the moment of disorientation was brief; his instincts flared to life with a sharp clarity. He pushed himself upright, his long dark hair spilling over his shoulders. The silken robes over his frame shimmered faintly with the runes woven into their fabric. His gaze swept the chamber, a silent predator assessing his domain. The room bore the mark of his legacy—tapestries of battles long past, shelves of ancient tomes, and an ornate staff resting in its cradle near the grand window. But there was one glaring absence."Qilli..." he whispered, his voic

She spun around and made a beeline for the opposite side, but there was a nagging feeling in her urging her to see Baltazar one last time. She moved her feet back to the saloon’s direction as she smiled faintly. When she entered, the three young vampires were still there talking to Baltazar as if asking for more information about her.Their eyes met, and the young vampires immediately left the place. In the Citadel Headquarters command center.Alpha Barkus stared at the flickering monitor, his face darkening as the last footage from the mercenary’s live camera before they got blown out by explosives played out. The feed was shaky, the view obstructed by debris and flashes of light. Then, there it was—the unmistakable silhouette of Citadel Manor, its spires piercing the night sky. The image was clear enough to make his jaw tighten.Beta Lisara, standing at his side, leaned in closer. “Citadel Manor,” she murmured, her voice low and dangerous. “They’re planning an attack, aren’t they?”Alpha Barkus’s eyes narrowed as the screen shifted, showing the maps. Arrows and marks scrawled across the image pointed directly at the manor’s defenses and weak points.“They’ve been planning this for a while,” Alpha Barkus growled. His fists clenched at his sides. “But why the Citadel manor and not the Headquarters?”Beta Lisara’s gaze hardened. “It's less guarded. No humans in sight within the mano
