Vesper growled and swiftly held Quillion’s neck. She’s planning to break it.

“What if I just kill you now and throw your body where no one would find it, in case someone did, we could simply blame it on the Omega killer.” She proposes.

Quillion changed to his wolfish eyes. “I never saw her coming. Am I too old or is she really this strong?” He asks himself as he acts cool while staying alert.

“Vesper!” Velmont shouted. “Unhand him.”

“Why? Is he that important to this investigation?” Vesper exclaimed.

Gertrude sighed deeply and then clasped her hands. “Velmont, maybe it's time to tell her everything," she said.

Vesper gritted her teeth and stared at Velmont, waiting for him to speak.

“Let him go, and I’ll tell you everything about it.” He demanded.

Gradually, Vesper let go of Quillion.

“Let's sit this one out,” Gertrude suggested.

Soon Velmont finally told them what they learned from their investigation.

Eleanor was pacing back and forth in the guest bedroom, “How could Qillalon mark that weak Omega when I'm already in the process of breaking things up with Zane? Did Qilli forget I’m his true love?” She yelled internally. Shortly after, someone knocked on the door.“Come in,” she yelled, feeling aggrieved.“Eleanor, I heard the rumors, are they true?” Delta Selene asked eagerly.“Yes,” Eleanor replied with anger in her voice.Delta Selene sighed profoundly, “I guess our plan to throw Vesper out of the manor is no longer possible.” She pointed out in relief.“It's still a go, but I’m afraid it will be trickier,” Eleanor remarked as her eyes darkened."Are we still going to use Alpha Mercimer’s cufflinks?" Selene asked.Eleanor nodded.“But is that enough for him to reject her?” She thought to herself.MEANWHILE…At Alpha Qillalon’s Chamber…Vesper was sulking. She hated that they tricked her into taking the blood oath, “The only good thing I got in this blood oath is the reality that

Vesper cautiously removed Alpha Qillalon’s arms around her, but before she could get out of bed he grabbed her again, “Go back to sleep. I’ll try to return before you wake up,” she whispered in his ear coaxingly. He grunted and let go of her hand. She picked up her clothes that were scattered on the floor and quietly wore them. She went to the infirmary with Alpha Qillalon’s scent all over her body. She didn’t need to speak to tell anyone what happened during her stay in his room.“I’m literally sleeping with the son of my enemy.” She said under her breath.“But what can I do? I feel what he feels, and it's so fucking good— It’s addicting. I can’t get enough of it.” She sighs in disappointment. “This case needs to be closed soon or else this ring…” She mumbles as she stares at the ring on her forefinger. “Will make me more vulnerable to emotions and this might be the death of me.” She mumbles as she bites her lower lip. Elder Mauritius was sitting quietly in his study room when suddenly someone knocked on the door. Without any delay, he permitted the person to enter the room.“What brings you here, Cain?” The elder asks in curiosity.Alpha Cain gulps down slowly. Even with his massive burly build, he still finds himself afraid of the old man in front of him.“It's about the probies that reached 1 month,” Alpha Cain expresses.“What about them?” The elder questioned as he motioned for the Alpha to sit.“I know there were tragedies from left and right, but despite that, I think my probies deserve a small moving-up ceremony inside the Citadel Manor.” The Alpha explains as he fidgets in his seat like a child asking his parents for a party.Elder Mauritius narrowed his gaze and sighed deeply. “Sure. When are you planning this move up?” he asked casually.“I was hoping once Gamma Sevy woke up the doctors said his recovery was promising, and he should wake up any day now. He’s actually one of the reasons wh

“So what did the witch say?” Alpha Qillalon asks as they walk to the hallway that leads to the garden.Vesper’s hand trembled but hid it immediately, “Like what I told you. My injuries made my psyche unreachable.” She lied casually. They soon reached the garden. He smiled faintly and turned his head to her with an inviting gaze. “How about we run together before heading to the barracks?” Alpha Qillalon asked as he slowly changed to his wolf form. His body grows larger and more muscular, and his fur emerges. His claws were drawn, his ears shifted position, and the bones on his back rearranged, and she could hear them moving, extending, and growing to unleash his magnificent beastly form.Vesper gasped in awe. “You’re huge.” She muttered as she closed her eyes, thinking of the last wolf she saw that fully transformed into a massive file of beastly form none of them was as majestic as his. Velmont was sitting quietly while reading an old incantation book. He is waiting patiently for Gamma Sevy to wake up again and speak to him before he can announce what he knows to everyone.Velmont kept sighing while his eyes moved from the book to the Gamma’s location. As he continued this routine, he soon met the Gamma’s eyes staring blankly at him.Gamma Sevy coughs and turns to the other beds. He caught Jolly’s scent and turned to her location. She’s sleeping soundly while her body is still filled with bandages. He continued to glance around the room, “Where’s Vesper?” He asked in concern.Velmont immediately closed the book he was reading and called for Gertrude, who took a quick shower. The witch hurriedly ran to the infirmary the moment she heard Velmont’s voice via a mental link. She was panting, and her curly hair was still wet when she entered the room.“Siccus. “What are you doing?” Eleanor uttered in despair. She knew that Qillalon had already slept with Vesper but seeing it happen right before her eyes, it stung like a dagger laced with poison. Her heart shattered at the scene.Meanwhile, Alpha Qillalon and Vesper were both stunned to see her there; they were so lost at the moment that they didn’t notice her presence.Alpha Qillalon hurriedly covered Vesper’s body as if there might be someone else near them. While Vesper observes the old lovers in front of her, there’s a part of her that feels envious, as the dream she had showed how Qillalon loved Eleanor. “Qilli, can I talk to you?” Eleanor added as her hands quivered in jealousy. He nods, “Sure, but not here.” He remarks while wearing his clothes.“Why don't you go ahead? I need to accompany my mate back to the Citadel,” he added while glancing at Vesper.Eleanor frowned, “Can't you just leave her for a minute? This is very important." Seeing Gamma Sevy’s sudden infatuation with Vesper. Gertrude left them immediately and went to the kitchen to boil a few herbs, roots, crow bones, and potion while chanting internally. The Omegas stationed in the kitchen can’t help watching the witch stir the boiling concoction in the cauldron."Cum potestate data mihi. Praecipio tibi ut statim vinculo finem faciamus, et Gamma a sanguine Vampii liberatus sit." She repeated the incantation in her mind several times till she saw a white smoke coming out of the mixture she made. She hurriedly returned to the infirmary only to see Gamma Sevy holding Vesper’s hand tightly.“Vampire’s blood,” she muttered to herself. She soon handed the drink to Sevy and the Gamma drank it in one gulp. Soon his dilated pupils turned normal, and he finally let go of Vesper’s hand.“I’m sorry. I didn’t know what got into me.” He says apologetically as he remembers kissing Vesper. We’ve seen them do it many times.” The Omega nurse insisted. Alpha Mercimer closed his eyes and controlled his annoyance. “If that’s the only thing you have to report. Get out of my room.” He demanded. The Gamma and Omega bowed their heads and were about to leave when, suddenly, the Gamma doctor remembered something. “Alpha, one of the Omegas has one, but it's a lot smaller and less decorated," he pointed out.Alpha Mercimer’s eyes narrowed as it piqued his interest. “Which Omega?” He asked eagerly.“The one with a pale face… If I’m not mistaken, she’s Alpha Qillalon’s mate.” The doctor remarks.“Vesper Miles.” Alpha Mercimer mumbled, then gestured for the doctor and nurse to leave. He smiled e

Several more years had passed in the hidden sanctuary where Vesper and Qillalon lived, far from the prying eyes of the world. The once-vibrant Alpha Qillalon had aged gracefully under Vesper’s care. Though he had grown frail, his spirit remained strong, and his love for Vesper never wavered.Vesper, having regained her strength, devoted herself entirely to Qillalon. She hunted food for him when his body grew too weak, shared stories of their past battles, and held his hand as they watched the moon rise together.“Don’t I sicken you? I’m an old man now… You’re kissing an old man.” He said playfully, but Vesper understood the pain in his words. She shook her head, “I would never feel that way. For me, you are as handsome as the day I saw you.”He chuckles lightly, “I’m going to die soon. I can feel it.” He uttered in a weak voice. Fear gnawing deeply in him.
