48. A promise she can't make!
"Damien?" She softly whispered, too shocked to react any other way.
Just some while ago she was hoping to see him. She had a desire to sit next to him and enjoy the view of the starry sky above and enjoy his favorite flavor of ice cream.
Aurora was hanging out with her new friend, her mind regardless, so much as imagined him. Now that he was here— she wished he wasn't.
"D-damien," Aura crossed the distance lying between them and paused in front of him.
She had to lift her head in order to meet his eyes and force a shivering smile on her face.
She wanted to feed his doubt with the truth he was yet to know regarding her developing and strengthening friendship with Rosario, unfortunately she could not avoid the tremors crawling down her back and hands.
"I missed you so mu—"
"In the car, Aur
49. A night of hesitation. Sweat beads twinkled on her forehead under the white beam of a lamp post cast down on her face. Aura parted her lips to make an excuse— but to her good luck, his cell phone buzzed in the pocket of his formal pants. "I am sorry, Aura. I will have to take this call though." Damien said as he gave his phone a glance before he turned around to take the call. "Yes, Brian." Relief filled Aurora's chest. She closed her eyes at the sudden sensation of comfort given that his overwhelmingly intense eyes were off her face. Only she knew how difficult it was to lie while looking into his deep burning eyes. "Really? Gosh, I am so happy, dude." Slipping away and onto her feet, Aura approached Damien. "I can't thank you enough for this news, brother. Thanks so much." She touched his arm only to have him turn
50. A dinner date or destructive date? "Oh Damien, you really make me want to crave for you." This was the fifth time gorgeous Aurora muttered in her breath that morning since she broke from the spell of her sleep. And that's solely because when she shifted to hug him and probably graze his jaw with her soft lips to make his morning the best one, it dawned on her that he was not there. There was only his scent and a sense of his warm body lingering around her in the back of her mind from the other night. "I swear I will not let you leave me for days when you return today. You make me want you so much." She sighed. Damien was gone. He had an early meeting this morning with the foreign clients online whom he left at the mercy of his beta, Brian. The deal was going to be signed today in Brian's presence and there were some topics that needed to be discussed with the Alpha
51. Some moments of love before a storm (A) The drive to the date venue was heavenly. Though it was tranquil, the warmth transmitting to her fingers intertwined with him felt surreal. In no time they reached the destination. Damien halted the car and went out, making haste all the way to her side, in order to open the door for her. He forwarded his hand and she placed her tickling one in his. Carefully he guided her out, ensuring that neither her gown stuck anywhere in the car or her stilettos slipped. The sweet smile he's been wearing on his face wasn't leaving his lips even for a second. "Tonight I'm all yours ma'am." He made her heart flutter as he spoke into her ear, making her blush amidst nervousness. "Err, Aura, wait here for a second. I'll just come!" Saying that, he ran in the opposite direction, leaving her confused.
52. Some moments of love before a storm (B) After the dinner Damien took Aurora to the coast side. They walked for a pleasurable moment along the coast with their fingers intertwined. Neither of them spoke or even tried it. They loved the tranquility of night. Silence in the background felt like a soft romantic tune. Their feet were dusty with grains of wet sand sticking all around their skin till their ankles. Aura's hair flew with the flowing winds while her soft flesh slightly chilled in cold. But thankfully there was his hand doing its work of keeping her warm. They did not talk and let their hearts do the communication. Their breathing synced and their love-filled gaze graced each other from time to time. 'Maybe this is the time! I should tell Damien now.' Aura thought. This seemed the best timing as they were under a starry night with the glow of rice lights falling on their backs, c
53. Shattered mother and her devastated soul "Ughh!" Wincing at the throbbing pain in her head, Aurora got up as she pushed herself on her right arm while with left she clutched her skull in a hopefully soothing hold. It took everything in her body to undo her bolted lashes with great difficulty. "Damien?" She whispered his name, looking around herself. Surprise widened her eyes because she was tucked inside her blanket in the bed. She was in her room. "Damien? Where are you?" Her soft voice tore through her heavy throat. Her body was in pain. She can't remember anything about coming here in her bedroom except for the fact that they were on their dinner date. Specifically standing by the seashore after a heavenly proposal from Damien. "What happened after that?" She asked herself as she unwillingly rested her bac
54. Her dirty deedsMadam Martha hung next to Aurora for about fifteen minutes, crying silently as she caressed the sleeping beauty's hair. Her wet lashes blinked with the flashback of the event that took place some hours ago from here forth— when Damien walked in with an unconscious Aurora in his arms.Flashback…Madam Martha was cleaning the hall smiling widely. She confronted every employee with an ear to ear grin and twinkling cheerful eyes. Because her daughter has given the biggest news of her life this morning. Aurora was going on a date with her love— Alpha Damien. The old lady was going about her work delightfully as she kept wondering ever since Aura left, about the special ways with which he would be making her feel special tonight. Aurora had not mentioned anything regarding a proposal, but Madam Martha somewhere predicted it coming. That'
55. A plan against the alpha? Alpha Damien dashed out of the double door, tears in his eyes, to his car. When he saw Aurora there, he lost tolerance with his feelings. She appeared thin and destitute, as if she needed him. Only he knew how he kept himself in check, which is why he didn't rush over to help her when she fell. Her entire being screamed that she wanted him. Wanted the warmth of his rough yet protective arms where she belonged. He couldn't watch her like that or forget that she bloody cheated on him with three men, so he twisted around and went, despite the need to grab her in his arms. "Why did you have to hurt me like that, Aura? Why do you have to hurt us like that?" He then sat inside his car wanting to close himself away— somewhere away she or her thought wouldn't reach him.&
56. Regret after committing a mistake They stared blankly in the thin air. Perspiration glistened on their faces. One can see goosebumps rising on both their hands as their lips shook dreadfully in horror. Peter and Ginny were in a daze after hearing the breaking news. "Aurora is really pregnant?!" It came as a gasp from Ginny's matted red lips. Hearing the truth, Ginny felt herself almost dead. The tables seemed to have incredibly turned. She tried not to look helpless across another woman but the terror searing through her was immense. Tears built up and soon they were strolling down her eyes. "Oh my god, she is genuinely pregnant and I sent those fake photos to Damien." Covering her mouth in panic, she slipped from the edge of the couch as she was barely sitting comfortably. Ginny didn't look thankful at all when Peter saved her in time and pu
127. The Goodbye (last chapter) Eight months later, Under the cool shadow of blooming cherry blossom trees, Aura sat on a mat as she tossed grapes in her mouth. She enjoyed the burbling of shimmery water in the nearby pond. With birds chiming gaily, gazelles roaming freely, colorful butterflies and dragonflies fluttering excitedly in the air, and a colony of rabbits and squirrels jumping and running around them, she fancied the sight of her eight months old daughter crawling on the soft bed of grasses and small flowers alongside their new family member, Venice. He was a month old baby dog Brian bought for Anna. A new friend whom she could play and grow up with. Initially Venice was scared in his new house as he was bought from the owner of his mother. The man could not afford to raise three golden retriever babies hence he gave them away. When Brian was offered one, he instantly accepted him for he was going to be Anna's first ever friend. "Anna, no! Come back here at once." Aur
126. Is Damien going to die?! "Damien, a-are you okay?" It was a silly question, but she was not really in her senses. His blood and reducing breaths took away her patience and whatever patience she had had, now turned into pain. Pure, raw, and escalating pain. Behind her back, Peter laughed, "You didn't come here, Alpha Damien, I summoned you, so I could kill you with my own hands. It would have been no fun to fuck your already fucked up wh*re or kill your vulnerable daughter who is anyways helpless without her mother. The worst I could do to you is kill you… and leave your mate and daughter miserable for the rest of their lives. Your death during the best phase of your life is the biggest and filthiest punishment you could get. You wouldn't be there to see your daughter grow up. Your wh*re will be available for other powerful males, not including that she would move on with another wealthy man after your demise, after some months of weeping in your memory. Your pack will be overt
125. You didn't come here. You were summoned, Alpha Damien. "Da-damien," The one and only name she's been chanting since her abduction quivered on the tip of her tongue. The fog of fear subsided, leaving her with ever so clear vision. She restlessly looked behind her back only to melt on the ground and take a sigh of relief, "Y-you came. You finally came to save us, Damien." Aura's heart throbbed in her chest for her husband was here in his ever so intense glory. There was a bow in his arms and a holder of an arrow put around his left shoulder, as it hung slantingly, resting on his back. His eyes glowed no less than enraged sun as his tightly set jaw twisted in anger. Many more footsteps thudded around her. She saw a troop of armed men coming inside through the front. It was her husband's army. All dressed up in black with holsters put on, hands carrying huge guns and a look of vengeance on their faces. Alongside their Alpha, they shot the enemy's army dead. She could not take her
124. Don't hurt my daughter in the name of revenge! A wheezing wind rolled over, making Aura's teeth clutter. She stared down in the middle of the room on the ground at her screaming daughter and forgot it was necessary to breathe for survival. That moment, all that she saw was Anna throwing her legs and arms in the air. She was dressed in a pink thin frock that shifted under her little back, leaving her little legs exposed to the cool ground. She was not wearing her socks either. "Don't hurt her, bastard." Aura banged her fists on Peter's chest and bicep. She used all her strength to hit him but the devil didn't budge for a second. He just cracked up louder and held her by her elbow, refraining her from going to her daughter. "You see that, Aurora? You see that? That's what real weakness looks like." He pointed at her daughter and then towards the dogs around her. They were desperately breathing, the noise invading Aura's ears like a warning buzz. "I want you to see it w
123. Damien, where are you? Aura's POV "Damien, where are you?! I am scared and cold. Please… come soon." I looked around the room and crawled closer to the bed, shrinking away in the gap between the bedside table and bed. My knees were against my chest as I cowered away from the menacing door glaring back at me in the dark. I should have listened to my heart. I should have paid attention to the crumpling feeling in my chest. I should have convinced Damien to stay back in the mansion. Only if I had not been swept away by Damien's advances, we would have been safe under the protection of our house. "My daughter," It was hard to breathe as my stomach bottomed out. The room was cool yet my skin was clammy, my body was a trembling mess and eyes weeping silently. "Anna, my baby! Oh that I never left you behind me in the mansion." My hands clenched tighter around my knees as I recalled Anna's heavy screams. Peter said that he would kill my daughter in front of my eyes on the wa
122. Going for a rescue"Anna is safe, right? Brian," I shook his shoulders. "Our daughter is safe, isn't she?" Someone from the guards sobbed. My head instantly looked around at the men so I could pick the sobbing one out. But everyone was vulnerably breathing and their red eyes told a different story. A story I wouldn't like to hear. As I was looking around everyone, I heard my beta, his voice poorly choking, "They breached… the mansion. Th-they shot Madam Martha and another nanny who was looking after Anna and took her away."No. No. No. Please… this was not true. It can't be. It's just… I found my place next to Brian as we both wept together. This was a dream. It had to be a bad dream because I was so happy in the morning. Everything was perfect and clean. Aura and I were savouring moments with our daughter. We were happy. How could everything turn upside down? Is it even possible for a happy family to scatter like the coins on a carrom board? "Miss. Martha," Aura won't be ha
121. Alpha's agony Alpha Damien's POV 'Damien…' 'Damien…' Agonizing screams hurt my head. I could see Aura being dragged away towards a tornado. It was whirling crazily and she cried, her hair bouncing all over her face. My mate. My darling. She was wearing a torn dress. Rather ripped aggressively. There were bruises on her bare arms and a blood trail cascading down her exposed legs. She looked vulnerable. Tortured beyond repair. Her lips were inflated and a puncture in the corner of her lip bled. 'Damien, help me. Save me from that beast. Don't let me go, Damien. Please…' She was held by the hair and dragged ruthlessly. Aura. My respectful Luna was in the clutches of a black shadow. I couldn't see much as my eyes were blurry. But whatever it was… it's caused harm to my Aura, and only meant to worsen her physical condition. 'Don't let me slip away, Damien. Please… please…' She held her hand out and yelled my name louder. I jumped and struggled to take her hand, trying my best
120. I told you I'll have her in my bed! Coming out of the car under the shelter of an Umbrella, they admired the rain and the silvery trails coming harshly on the ground. Damien's one arm was around her shoulder and one holding the umbrella. He loved this place for its simplicity. But looking at Aura's face, he can say she was not very happy. Her nose was creased and her eyes tentatively stared through mist and a heavy shower trail."I don't see any arrangements?" Aura raised her head to meet his eyes.Indeed there was nothing, for this place was an empty piece of land. Yet, what one sees must not be used to draw a final conclusion."Come on, I'll show you." Stretching his lips into a grin, he led themselves ahead.Aura's gown was completely drenched from the edge. There was dirt in her stilettos and she couldn't walk properly any longer. It was her good luck that Damien was walking by her side, or else she would have already collapsed. Much worse, she could have twisted her ankles
119. A menacing date night In the mansion, Aura stared out at the gray army of clouds as they wailed and stormily poured over the horizon. Placing a hand on the glass of the window, she felt the iciness creep into her palm. The rain was frosty and every drop plummeted like a bullet on the grass of bed. "Why is it raining so aggressively today?" She looked up at the sky that's draped the whole world in a blanket of fog. As long as her eyes could see, there was only pallidness. She never liked rains like these. This reminded her of that terrifying night when Damien misunderstood her and threw her out of the mansion, after accusing her of cheating on him. Goosebumps spread over her skin. Aura rubbed her arms and walked away. She no longer wished to look into the gray eyes of the sky and feel vulnerable. Pulling the curtains over the windows, she returned to her bed and sat down near the cot of her daughter. 'My heart throbs restlessly inside my chest. Why?' Taking a look at her
