Lily POV

My heart raced as I approached the Pack’s Central Building where Kai’s office was. An unexplainable unease suddenly settled over me the moment I stepped inside. Nala, who was usually calm and collected, paced restlessly within me, her hackles rising as if sensing an impending threat.

I dismissed the unease as anxiety of meeting Kai for the first time in days and I didn’t know if he was still angry with me or if he would demand I give him a response too… I had a lot of thoughts in my mind.

Still, as a new member of the pack, I had no choice but to report to him. I continued to the elevator and it felt like the air was thick as if charged with something I couldn’t quite place. My wolf stirred within me again, this time more anxious and alert.

I had learnt to trust these feelings – the ones that guided me when I didn’t have a wolf and now, it seemed to have intensified since Nala came. But right now, it only heightened my nerves. Something was off, terribly off.

I took a deep br

Briella POVI pulled my car out of the parking lot of the Pack's Central building easing the sleek black car into the street. I gripped the steering wheel, my mind replaying the scene that had just happened a few minutes ago in Kai’s office. My perfectly manicured fingers drummed against the leather steering wheel, with a mix of satisfaction and frustration coursing through my veins.I’d finally done it – I finally kissed Kai, the most eligible Alpha in the region, something I’d been trying to make happen for months. Ever since his mother had practically handpicked me as his fiancée and Luna-to-be, I’d been doing everything I could to make him see me as more an just a pack obligation. The memory of his lips against mine made me sigh with longing. It was unexpected, I didn’t think he would give in but even as my lips pressed against his, even as my hands had grazed his neck, I could feel that he was … distracted.Distant. Like he was miles away and was not really interested in the kiss

Kai POV“Lily please,” I tried to reach for her but she backed away from my touch. “Let me fix this.”My mind played the conversation I had with Lily over and over again, each time, the memory seemed more vivid than it had been. The pain in her eyes clearer each time it flits into my mind.I paced my office, clenching and unclenching my hands by my side as I tried to calm my restless wolf. Our restless agitation made it impossible to focus on anything but Lily. It’s been days since I last saw her and the distance was gnawing at me in ways I couldn’t quite explain. The memory of our kiss replayed in my mind – her initial shock, the way she had melted against him for just a moment before pulling away. Every time I caught a glimpse of her in my mind – her hesitant smile, the way her eyes held a guarded softness – I felt my chest tighten. She was my mate, chosen by the Moon Goddess herself, but here I was, feeling like I was failing her. Hud – my wolf wasn’t helping either. It was growlin

Kai POVA few days later the sun was barely over the horizon when I arrived at the Pack’s training ground. The easiest way to win the heart of someone you love is to spend more time with them and to make them trust you. At least, that was what my grandmother had said yesterday when I had casually asked her the question.I couldn’t demand that Lily leave her school work or training just because I wanted to spend time with her but, according to my grandmother, sometimes spending time with people you love could also mean showing up to things they love too.So, that was why I was here today. I would stay in the background and hope my presence would cheer her up.The air was still crisp and the grass wet from the early morning dew and more importantly, Lily. Hud perked up immediately as he caught her scent amongst the trainees.I spotted her near the edge of the training area, doing warm-up exercises with a small group. She hadn’t noticed me yet and I took the moment to simply watch her. E

Kai POVIt was one of those days when I preferred to come to stare at my mate training than to attend to the growing pile of paperwork on my desk. She was running laps around the training ground and I couldn’t help but wonder what it would feel like if she was utilizing that strength for something else. I sighed wistfully, trying to hide my bulge. It was becoming harder to pretend I didn’t want her. I was driven by my loss each morning to come here and it was becoming incredibly difficult to suppress the burst of emotions I always felt whenever she was next to me.I know I promised slow but… I wanted her to trust me quickly enough and fast… I wanted to consummate our bond so fast and become one with her. I’ve caught Jake’s gaze lingering on her more than once – more than he should and these days, I get panic attacks from thinking about someone else trying to woo my woman. As she finished her final lap, I walked up to her handing her a bottle of water and towel.“Well done!” I commente

Kai POVCeleste was lounging in my office, looking at something on her phone with a smile on her face. All week, the only thing I’ve been thinking about was how to be alone with Lily without anyone knowing. It seems that even the most private lounge in restaurants all had eyes and ears that might report to my mother or Briella, exactly the situation I was trying to avoid.“Celeste” I called out to my sister, waiting until she looked up from her phone before I started talking. “Do you have any idea where couples go these days if they want to go out on days and away from the public’s eyes? You know, something intimate and small.”She sneered. “Didn’t know you liked Lily to that extent. I heard you’ve been loitering the training ground like some lovestruck puppy.”“Are you going to tell me or not?” I glared at her.“You need to be careful, Kai. If Mom hears of Lily, she might not be safe anymore. I don’t even need to tell you that. You know right?”“I’m aware,” I said quietly. “Now pleas

LilyI was yet to get used to the fact that Kai was my second chance mate.I mean, he was an Alpha, hot, sexy, desirable, could have any woman he wanted in the world and yet, the Moon Goddess – from all the thousand women available that he could have given him… she gave him me.And talk about obsession. It seems I’ve known him for years now instead of a few weeks. He always wanted to be near me. We’ve gone on several dates, he’d make time for me, refusing to take his Beta Liam’s call or anyone else’s. Whenever we were alone, he’d give me his full attention, undivided. No matter how much I tried to fight the attraction to him that was growing every day, I just couldn’t do it because he was always trying to make me laugh. This afternoon, I was sitting in my favourite coffee shop, absently stirring my latte, still thinking about Kai.“Second chance mate,” I whispered to myself with a smile. The words still felt foreign to me… but it felt like it was compensation from the moon goddess aft

Lily POV“Kai…”“At my place. I’ll cook for you. I’m quite the cook you know.” He leaned forward, with an intense gaze. “Please?”I should say no. These days he was becoming friskier than normal and always touchy, being in an enclosed space with him, was it even a good idea? I wanted to say No… it was on the tip of my tongue but…“Okay.”His whole face lit up, and my heart did a dangerous flip in my chest. “Thank you so much,” he bellowed. “I’ll make you the best dish you’ve ever tasted. By the way, do you have any preference? Maybe something you don’t like or like to eat?”“Anything is fine, Kai and you must promise me that you’ll be appropriate.”He laughed, grinning at me, without skipping a beat. “I promise. I’ll be a total gentleman, you’ll see.”I didn’t believe him, but still, a part of me was already looking forward to being with him. “My last class ends by 4 pm today. You can pick me up then.”“Sure thing.”Later that evening, I found myself in his luxurious penthouse apartme

Lily POVAn hour later, we were in the living room, eating from a box of pizza and watching TV but I was hardly seeing what was on the screen. My body was still humming from the aftermath of the intimacy I shared with Kai earlier.Plus sitting next to him now… our thighs occasionally rubbing, our hands brushing each other accidentally when we try to reach for a pizza slice. The tension in the room was building and I could tell, Kai felt the same way too.“What are you doing this weekend?” he asked suddenly breaking the silence.“Rest, probably. It’s been a busy week for me. I intend to also go shopping with Celeste. Do my hair, my nails…” I trailed off and turned to him, he had a sardonic twist on his lips. “What?”“You spend more time with my sister than anyone else. You spent last weekend at her house too,” he complained.“I had to help her with catering. She had friends over and needed an extra pair of hands.”“I’m beginning to think she’s the mate and not me,” he sighed, turning a

Kai POVI’d been awake for hours, just lying here, letting the darkness of my room mirror the darkness in my thoughts. The covers over my head created a cocoon, shutting out the world that I didn't want to face. I had no desire to be Alpha right now, no desire to deal with the responsibilities waiting for me outside these four walls. I was scared that if I took the covers away, thoughts of Lily would fit into my mind and drive me crazy. How I managed to survive four weeks without her warmth puzzled me. In the beginning, I had convinced myself that it was the best thing to do, but I missed Lily terribly. My wolf missed her so much. But the only way to ensure she’ll be safe is to stay far away from her. I didn’t want to keep hurting her. Just as I started drifting back into my thoughts, the covers yanked off me. “Get up!”I sat up, an expletive word on my lips, ready to lash out on whomever was the culprit, only to find my mother standing there. Her face was set in that familiar ex

I trailed off. “Gut instincts. I would sense danger or feel when something was off. But this…” I swallowed hard. “This is different. I saw it happen before it did.”My uncle remained quiet. I wanted to keep speaking when it hit me. my lips parted as I stared at him in horror. If my uncle knew about this, then he must have seen it before. Someone else must have experienced the same thing. “You’ve seen this before,” I whispered His eyes darkened but he didn’t say anything. "You’ve known someone like this before," I continued, my heart pounding faster. He didn’t answer.“My mom?” I started tentatively. “She was like this too?”The look in his eyes told me everything I needed to know, and suddenly the tea in front of me seemed like the most important thing in the world. Lily POVI couldn't move. Couldn't speak. I sat huddled in the corner, arms wrapped around my knees, staring at the destruction. The vision. Hazel's warning. It had been real. How had it been real?Celeste was the first to recover. She rushed to my side, crouching down. "Lily, are you hurt?"She started checking me for injuries. “Are you okay? What happened?”I shook my head numbly, barely able to process what had just happened.Grandpa Marcus stepped forward; his face grim as he examined the wreckage. "That wasn’t an accident," he murmured.I barely heard him.All I could think about—Was that I had seen it.Seconds before it happened. And Hazel had known. What the hell was happening to me?I sat there frozen as everyone crowded around me, their concerned faces swimming in my vision. Celeste's hand was on my shoulder, and I could feel the tremors of worry running through her fingers. Everyone was asking questions at once, their voices overlapping into concern that made my head spin.

Lily POVWhen we settled inside again, my uncle pulled me int for another hug as if he still couldn’t believe I was here in person. When he finally pulled back from the hug, tears were streaming down his face. His hands trembled as they clasped mine, and the raw emotion in his eyes made my throat tight. I could feel and see the sincerity in his eyes. This was all so alien to me. The fact that someone could cry just from finding it was so difficult to believe. "I'm so sorry," he whispered, his voice breaking. "I'm so—so sorry, Lily."I bit the insides of my mouth to stop myself from crying. “So sorry it took me this long to find you. Harriet would never have forgiven me. I've failed you. I've failed my sister. I—" He let out a sharp breath, his fingers tightening around mine. "She entrusted me with everything, and I—" He let out a bitter chuckle, shaking his head. "I’ve betrayed her memory.”“M-Mom is dead?” I felt the hope I had held onto until this moment – hope that my mom could s

Lily POVMy heart pounded furiously as I made my way to the front door. Hazel, my wolf, was unusually alert, giving off the same strange, familiar sensation I'd felt that day in the school cafeteria when I stopped to buy a drink. It was like she was trying to tell me something, but the message was just out of reach. To make matters worse, there was something unsettling about everything – it was as if I’ve relieved this moment before. A familiar sensation coursed through my chest – it was too familiar to ignore. As I neared the door, Hazel stirred again in the back of my mind, not in distress but something else. Recognition? Longing? She had reacted the same way with that man at the school cafeteria. The man who called me Harriet. I swallowed hard, pushing down my nerves. As I stepped outside, the first thing I noticed was that the man wasn’t facing me. He stood with his back turned he looked relaxed as if he had all the time in the world. Even from behind, something about his postu

Lily POVSomehow, I made it through week four. But despite my best efforts to avoid any form of socializing, Celeste had finally managed to pull me away from my house and bring me to hers. I hadn’t wanted to come, but she’d used her trump card – her grandparents. “They miss you,” she’d said, and I couldn’t refuse them. The moment I stepped into Celeste’s house, Grandma Elena – Celeste grandmother enveloped me in a warm hug that smelled of vanilla and freshly- baked cookies. “Look how thin you’ ve gotten,” she tutted, leading me to her favorite couch in the living room. Grandpa Marcus was in his favorite armchair reading a book. His eyes lit up when he saw me. Immediately, he closed the book and rose up to come meet me. “Leave the girl, alone, Elena,” he chuckled, but his eyes were concerned as they studied my face. “Though a few of your sugar cookies wouldn’t hurt.”I bit my lips hard until I could taste blood. I felt so guilty and relieved at the same time. Guilty that I’ve been

  • Alpha's Hidden Precious Luna   Chapter 119

Lily POVThe afternoon sun cast long shadows across the sidewalks as I trudged home from college. It’s been several days since I and Kai decided to take a break from our relationship and it’s been nothing but pure hell for me. In the beginning, I was keeping track of the time, hoping he would get tired and try to reach out, but days turned into a week and a week, three weeks. A part of me still didn’t know if he had ever truly loved me or if I had just been some fleeting attachment. After all, he had been so quick to let me go.So, these days, I just live my life on a clean slate and take whatever life throws at me. Walking was my new therapy nowadays. Instead of covering the five minute car drive every day, I decided walking was soothing. My feet ached, but I loved and welcomed the pain – it was better than the numbness that has lodged in my chest since I got discharged from the hospital. I hadn’t gone back to the packhouse – not even once. Not even to take my things. Just the th

Lily POVAfter the pack doctors and nurses filed out, the room fell into a heavy silence. Kai remained at the doorway like a statue carved from tension and unspoken words. He hadn’t said anything to me since entering. He just stood thee with his eyes fixed somewhere above my head. Celeste was the one who finally broke the suffocating silence. Celeste exhaled loudly, crossing her arms as she turned to him. “Are you just going to stand there, or aren’t you leaving too?” Her voice had a protective edge to it that I had never heard before, as if she expected Kai to turn into the monster I had barely escaped from.Kai’s gaze flickered to her, but he didn’t rise to the bait. “I want to see Lily,” he said quietly.Celeste let out a humorless laugh. “You can see her just fine from there.” She gestured at me with an exaggerated wave. “Mission accomplished. Now, go.”“Alone. I want to see her alone, Celeste. Is it that hard for you to understand?”“Maybe,” Celeste bristled. “I don’t care if y

Lily POVI came alive slowly to a soft, rhythmic beeping pulling me from the depths of unconsciousness. My eyelids felt like lead, my body heavy and sore as I slowly blinked against the harsh white light filtering into the unfamiliar room. It took a moment for my vision to adjust, but as the blurriness faded, I took in my surroundings.Machines. Wires. An IV drip connected to my arm. The slow, steady hum of medical equipment filled the room. The scent of antiseptic clung to everything.A hospital. I was in a hospital. What was I doing here?I turned my head slightly, my neck stiff from being in the same position for too long. That was when I saw Celeste curled up on the couch in the corner of the room, her dark hair was a tangled mess, her chest rising and falling steadily as she slept. The sight of her brought and immediate sense of comfort to me. I needed to sit up. My back was burning with pain probably from lying in one position for too long. The first attempt was embarrassing –
