Adam

All the pack members have gathered to pay their respects to their Alpha. I stand next to my father's coffin waiting for everyone to say their goodbyes. Alyssa is next to me, my mother on the other side. There are so many people here. Alpha Trey was loved by all of us; it's hard to believe he's gone. My mother grips my hand tightly; she's crying quietly, but not letting go of my hand, which is a comfort to me in a way I don't understand.

"Thank you all for coming here today," I say in a low voice so only those gathered can hear it "My father was a strong leader for us all for many years." Everyone nods their heads but no one speaks, so I continue "He worked endlessly protecting those who could not defend themselves." We've been hearing stories about what he's done for years now but never really talked about it much in front of the pack members; we've never celebrated what he did for us but merely mourned his loss when it happened." Alyssa"Morning," Adam says as he steps into the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee. He's wearing a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt as he heads over to the coffee pot. "I was thinking about getting up an hour ago but I couldn't seem to find the motivation," he says with a cheeky smile while pouring himself a cup of coffee before sitting down at the table across from me "Didn't sleep too well last night," he adds after taking a sip "Did you?""Yes, I woke up about an hour ago and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up instead," I reply looking down at my cup of coffee as I take a sip "I'm not sure why though; I'm not usually one for waking up early in the morning."Adam chuckles as he takes another sip of his coffee "So, do you have any plans for today?" he asks holding his cup in his hands."Not really, just helping myself to some fresh air around the house. I guess I just need to clear my mind. How about you?""Well, I'm gonna meet my buddies in town, so I guess I'll see you later." He

Alyssa"Let me go, damn you," I scream, pulling on the chains to break free.He chuckles evilly looking down at me. "If I wanted to kill you right now, you wouldn't have a chance to run away," he says."Oh really?" I snarl. "Why don't you just do it? You can't, can you? You don't even have the guts to show your face.""How dare you speak to me like that!" He roars throwing himself on top of me. His hands grip my throat choking me. Tears stream down my cheeks as I try desperately to pull myself out of his grasp. He pulls tighter until my vision blurs. I feel like I'm going to die. But then he releases me suddenly standing up straight."Do you know where you are?" he asks calmly.I shake my head unable to form words. All I can focus on is the pain radiating through my neck and shoulders from his chokehold. "Please, let me go.""Not yet," he snaps. He removes his mask, showing his face to me."Who are you," I whisper. He smirks, running his hand over his black beard stubble. "My name is

Adam"Alyssa," I call, knocking on her bedroom door. There's no answer. I open the door and step inside looking for her. Her scent is weak, which tells me she hasn't been here in a while. I go downstairs to check the kitchen and I find Alice sitting at the table eating lunch alone."Alice," I say walking closer to her."Hi Adam," she says smiling warmly."Is Alyssa home?" I ask worried."No, she left earlier today saying she needs some fresh air," she sighs shaking her head sadly."Do you know where she went?""Yeah," she nods. "I think she was heading outside.""Thanks, Alice."I step outside trying to follow her scent. It leads me to the woods. But there's another scent. A male's scent. I recognize the scent as someone from the Moon Creek pack. Something must have happened to her. My heart drops as bad thoughts start going through my mind. What if she had gotten attacked again or worse? I run quickly towards the pack house and burst inside."What's wrong?" mother asks running up beh

Alyssa"Get me out of here," I shout, hitting the door with my hands. "Open up! Please just fucking open the damn door!"How could this happen to me? How did he find me? Why would they hurt me? I thought I was safe here. I didn't think anyone knew who I really am."Please…" I beg."Calm down, little one," Tobias says as he opens the door. His eyes glow red when he looks at me. Why are you fighting it? you're home now. Adam doesn't love you and he never did. You belong with me and the Moon Creek pack now.My heart sinks hearing him say those words. Tears fill my eyes, and I sob uncontrollably falling to the floor crying. Tobias picks me up cradling me in his arms. I push him away and try to run past him."No," he scolds. "Not until you calm yourself.""Why do you want me so much? What does it matter what happens to me?" I cry.Tobias turns around walking towards the bedroom. He sits down on the bed next to me."Because you are mine and always have been since the moment I laid eyes upon

AdamMy beta and other members have gathered at the pack house to help me find Alyssa. We've scoured all the surrounding areas, but no sign of her has turned up. Our search has taken longer than expected, which worries me."I still believe she ran off on purpose," Marcus tells me worried."No way. She wouldn't do that. I think she was kidnapped by the Moon Creek pack," I say.Marcus frowns. "They'd kill her if they got their hands on her. Do you honestly think she could survive that?""We have to keep searching," I insist. "If we don't find her soon, things are going to start getting ugly.""Do you think she's dead?" Darius asks. "There hasn't been any trace of her anywhere.""No, I don't believe that either," I answer. "I can feel it in me she's still alive. She's too valuable for them to kill her. Besides, they couldn't hide her scent from our noses."Darius nods looking relieved. "Well, we should split up then to cover more ground.""Good idea," I reply."Let's just hope this isn't

Alyssa Tobias is such a jerk. He wouldn't dare touch me. I mean, look how much pain he's caused me already. My body aches constantly. And I feel like crap all day long. I haven't eaten since yesterday and am starving. I wish I had more energy, though. I'd never accept him as my mate. He repulses me. Why couldn't I have met someone nice instead? Someone who cared about me and didn't use me for his gain. I close my eyes and picture the man I love. His strong jawline, those piercing blue-green eyes, and his shiny hair. I never realized how much I care for Adam. It was always easy to pretend that he wasn't important to me. But now that I don't have him anymore… I miss him terribly. The thought of losing him forever causes tears to well up inside me. Tears I refuse to shed. I may hurt physically, but emotionally I'm stronger than ever. I won't cry. "Hello again, little one," Tobias says as he pushes the door open. I stare straight ahead. "Go away." "If you continue to ignore me, I'll g

Alyssa As we continue to discuss our plans, I can't help but feel a sense of exhaustion wash over me. The past few days have been a blur of danger and fear, and all I want is to find some sense of normalcy again. Adam must sense my fatigue because he wraps an arm around me and kisses the top of my head. "We'll be okay, Alyssa. We'll get through this together." I nod, grateful for his words and for his presence. Adam has always been my rock, and I know I can count on him to keep me safe and support me through anything. As we finalize our plans, I can't help but feel a sense of trepidation. The Moon Creek pack is not to be underestimated, and I know they'll stop at nothing to find us. But we have to try. We have to find a way to escape and get to safety. With a deep breath, I steel myself for what lies ahead. I know it won't be easy, but I also know that with Adam by my side, we can overcome anything. Together, we'll find a way to make it through this. We set out under the cover of

Alyssa The beast within me stirs, restless, testing the fragile barrier of my humanity. Its presence has been growing by the day, seeping into my consciousness in flickers and dreams. I wake with the musky scent of the forest in my nose, the metallic tang of blood on my tongue. The elders have warned me to gain control. If I cannot rein in this power, it will consume me whole. But how can I leash something I do not understand? I am walking a knife's edge in the dark, claws grasping for purchase, waiting for the fall. Dawn breaks cold and sharp over the compound, bathing weathered cabins in a glow of gold. I fold my arms across my chest as I step outside, breath frosting the air. The pack is already awake and active, voices rough with laughter and life. My heart swells at the sound of them - my unlikely family. I do not know what I would become without their guidance to ground me. A familiar figure separates from the crowd and lopes towards me, raven hair falling carelessly over hi

When night falls, I go to Duran's cabin, bracing myself for the evening to come. Duran greets me with a warm smile. "Welcome. I'm glad you could come." "Thank you for inviting me, Alpha." The proper response, hiding my inner turmoil. Duran's eyes gleam as he shows me inside, and my pulse jumps. The table is covered with a delicious spread. I take small bites, my appetite ruined by the unspoken question hanging between us. Duran watches me over his wine glass, patient but unwavering in his silent demand. Sophia nods bravely but when I stand, her ankle gives out beneath her. She cries out as she tumbles to the ground. "Sophia!" My heart drops as I scoop her into my arms. She whimpers, tears streaming down her face as she holds her ankle. No, not now. We have to keep going. I carry Sophia over to a large oak tree and set her down in the roots. "Let me see." Gently, I remove her shoe and sock. Her ankle is already swollen, the delicate joint red and puffy. No doubt it's sprained. Sophia sniffles. "It hurts, Mama." "I know, baby."
