Chapter Twenty

ALEXIS POV

I woke around dawn the next morning. The time on my phone read 6:01am and it was still dark outside. I sat up in bed. Bed? I took a quick glance around me to notice that I was back in the room I’d slept in when I first got to Max’s house. The events of the last few hours flashed through my mind. After my late lunch, I’d fallen asleep and then had this frightful nightmare which woke me up. Then I’d located Max and he had what? He had serenaded me to sleep!
