Get Married

Lexus' POV

"I think it's time for you to get married" my mom said and I rolled my eyes inwardly.

Here we go again

"But he hasn't found his mate yet" my sister replied

"He's been looking for years, a decade I should say, your father and I can't rule forever, there are many unmated wolves who would be the perfect Luna for you-" she said but got interrupted by the old man as he walked over to have a seat next to her.

"You know he needs his mate to rule, she's the perfect one for the role" he said and I got up.

"Ivan just mind-linked me from the car, something's up at the office. I'm leaving" I said and got up without waiting for anyone or anything else and left.

They all knew I was lying but they also knew better than to touch the topic with me again.

I got into the backseat in the car and met with Ivan, we sat across each other.

"You're back so soon?" He asked, we were more like buds than boss and assistant.

"They were talking about my mate again" I simply replied and he chuckled knowingly

"So where are we headed?"

"The office"

"It's always the office, you need to let loose man" he said and I passed him a glance but we were too close for him to be scared "you're boring AF. Alright then"

The automated car started moving to the office building as soon as it was activated.

"Oh I almost forgot, your schedule for the next hour is a meeting with Mr Moore about the loan he had borrowed from you last year, he plans on making an advertisement with it and then partnering up with our marketing group for profit. I made negotiations about dividing the profit, a 70/30"

"Then why do I still have to go for the meeting?" I asked, it was unnecessary since he had pretty much finalized everything.

"Because he thinks it's debatable" he replied and I sighed

"Tell him it's not and cancel the meeting"

"O-kay"

"Turn the car around, I'm going home"

"Really? Why'd you change your mind?" He asked and I just ignored him

Because I want to go on with the search for my mate

I walked into the pack-house and headed straight to my room.

Ivan turned to leave when I stopped him.

"Tomorrow arrange a gathering of all she-wolves, other packs included" I said and walked back into my room

I picked up my laptop and scanned through my office work and busied myself.

I heard a knock on the door some hours later and Ivan's voice from behind the door.

"Your father wants to have a word" he said

"Later"

"Right now actually"

I sighed and got up, got out of my room and headed to my dad's office.

He was looking out his window still seated on the main seat with a huge table layed vertically between his seat and two others.

The table was well arranged with little to nothing on the top but a computer and a bottle of water.

The creak of the door made him turn to look at me while I went over to one of the seats across his and took a seat.

"Sebastian" my dad called

That was my middle name but I preferred Lexus, well, the old man wouldn't listen, he was the one who gave me that name after all.

I was silent.

"How's the search for your mate going?" He asked

"Not much improvement"

"Hmm" he hummed in response "you stopped searching years ago"

"I've began the search again"

He leaned forward "I want the best for you but I'm getting old-"

"You're only 54, you're fine, you just want to laze around like other old men", he laughed

"Yes I do, I've been alpha since I was 18, two years after I found your mother... Seb, I think you might be a lone wolf-"

"Stop", I had considered that possibility but simply shunned it, "my mate might have just been little then but-"

"You can't keep making excuses"

"Enough! We're not having this conversation", he sighed

"I've called the Wolfsbane Luna, she says there is also a possibility that your mate is human, but it's rare."

"I'll find my mate dad, there's no need for this", I got up to leave.

"I hope so" I heard him say.

I walked over to the woods to get some air.

I knew what needed to be done for the good of the family and the pack but I wanted MY MATE.

I pulled off my clothes and shifted, I needed to run.

I had a good run with Logan, my wolf, and we rested until we sighted a rabbit, it saw us too and immediately hopped off, we were on the run, in a few seconds we had the rabbit between our teeth.

I was enjoying my meal when I heard a voice in my head.

'Lex?'

I recognized the voice as my sister, Adalyn's, she was using the mind-link to contact me.

'Yeah?'

'You promised to follow me shopping.'

Yeah, I had nodded ignorantly when she was bugging me just to get her off my tail.

'No'

'But you promised.'

'No'

'Please?'

'No'

'Then I'll bug you'

'No'

'Lex!'

'No'

'Lexus!!'

'Fine!'

'Great, head back tomorrow, I'm not shopping in the pack this time. At the shopping mall in the human area and we're going together so you won't be able to ditch me again this time.'
