ARTHUR & MILA That day, both Arthur and Mila made it their mission to find out more out Daniels and Sharpe history. Arthur wanted to know everything there was to know, and Mila wanted to know what curse she was living under and how she could help Arthur break it. Deep down they both wanted to be together, but it was like a veil that was keeping them apart. Osho said that Mila’s attempts would only strengthen the curse, but why? Does magic her feeds the curse? It must be, what else could it be? So, they read. Arthur browsed through all the books that the librarian had shared, and Mila read through all the books she could find in the library of her kingdom, but none mentioned anything about the curse. However, they both did come across the truth, or what was written about, in a book called – ‘What forms the darkness?’ Darkness is not something that happens on its own. Darkness is the absence of light… You need to remove light from someone or something to make it dark, and the same
ARTHUR Both Arthur and Rah stared at each other as Rah finished reading the passage. It was one intense passage and while Arthur was seated on his chair, Rah was on the floor, reading it aloud for both of them. “Sharpe – Daniels,” Arthur muttered remembering what Mila had claimed her full title to be, ‘Mila – Daniels – Sharpe.’ And she had claimed she was the alpha of the ‘Daniels – Sharpe’ lost clan. “But it is weird, isn’t it?” Rah spoke as he stared at a picture that was demonstrating brutality of twins. “That they committed matricide? Of course it is weird, in fact, it is pure evil.” Arthur barked. “No wonder they are the most horrible clan in the whole of history.” “I think they are labelled as the most dangerous clan in the history because they killed millions while they were barely teenagers, and not just because of matricide. They acted like rampaging rhinoceros and crushed anyone and everyone that crossed their paths,” Rah muttered. “Well, I knew they must be horrible an
MILA While Mila also deduced what Rah had with Arthur, but she didn’t wait. The moment she reached the end of the passage, she grabbed her gear – her mask, gloves and collar to cover her skin – and ran down to meet the oracle. But he was not there. There was a sentry though in the shape of another old man, but the oracle, Osho, was not there. Mila reached out and touched the stump of the tree, and though she could feel that the tree was trying to tell her something, she could not understand. She looked up at its leaves, but they were too high for her to reach. Unsure of what to do, she raised her hand and tried to bring down a few leaves by magic, but it seemed like in the vicinity of the tree, her magic didn’t work. This surprised Mila. Panting out of excitement, she tried to rip open a portal to her chambers upstairs, but she couldn’t. She tried to summon water, she couldn’t. She tried to move the air, she couldn’t. She stepped a little further away from the tree, and yet her
ARTHUR “Oh, Arthur,” Chloe yelped as she rushed into Arthur’s room and hugged him with all her might. Arthur was so taken aback that he didn’t even hug her back for a long moment. “What’s wrong, Arthur,” Chloe pulled back slightly and asked, batting her eyelashes. “Didn’t you miss me? Are you not happy to see me?” Rah, who too was epically stunned to see her, watched the scene open mouthed. “Oh, no,” Arthur mumbled, finally raising his hands and placing it on Chloe’s back. Deep down he heard Bash growl in anger. Even touching Chloe so lightly felt like cheating on Mila. Oh crap! What was happening? “What?” Chloe’s face fell at these words. “I meant, oh no, I am definitely happy to see you,” Arthur added suddenly, giving a shifty look to Rah. Chloe’s shrewd gaze didn’t miss the movement and she turned on Rah, “You,” she barked, Rah took a step back and he bowed, “Get out, now!”
ARTHUR Arthur could not believe it. Chloe’s parents were here, it was a disastrous situation. Now how would he even leave? And he needed to leave before it was too late. He needed to know what was going on with Mila, and know the truth. Because, as per that book, maybe Mila was not even a Sharpe – Daniels because they were childless. “Shall we?” Chloe laughed as she opened the door, bringing Arthur out of his reverie again! “Where is Mila Grace, anyway?” she asked in a taunting tone. Arthur couldn’t help but feel pity for Chloe and her four hundred men if they choose to face Mila. After all, Mila in reality was not just Mila Grace, she was Mila – Daniels – Sharpe! Already an alpha, his mate, and a powerful enchantress. “Sire,” Rah was waiting for them outside. “May I have a word, sire?” “Can’t you see that he is busy,” Chloe snapped. “He is coming with me.” “It is very urgent, sire,” Rah bowed low as he gave Arthur a very meaningful look. “Chloe, why don’t you head to the heari
MILA Mila walked with Osho all around the kingdom. Osho took her to the deepest darkest corners of the kingdom and Mila just wondered what he was doing. “Umm… Osho,” Mila spoke tentatively as they stood just outside the prison where she had spent most of life. “Yes, Mila Daniels - Sharpe - Collins,” Osho smiled at her curious expressions. Mila wondered if Osho knew how she felt in the vicinity of her prison. This dark, dingy place where she was forced to endure so much pain? “I don’t like this place,” Mila muttered. “Naturally so,” Osho nodded. “I will get it demolished, this place signifies the pain and sufferings I had endured at the hands of Hanna, I do not want it here,” Mila sighed sadly as an image of herself, cold and shivering, flashed in front of her eyes. “You should not do that, Mila Daniels - Sharpe - Collins,” Osho replied in a very simple tone. “This place is where you struggled most, this place has witnessed surges of your magic. The walls where you were kept as
ARTHUR & MILA As Mila walked back to her chambers, she realized how easy it was for her to talk to Rah. In all the pain of Arthur leaving her, she had forgotten about him. Rah was her true friend who supported her irrespective of who she was. And Mila knew that Rah would not have turned his back on her like Arthur did if Rah knew her truth. Mila realized one thing as she thought more about Rah. She was so comfortable with Rah because she could be free with him. And sadly wondering if she had someone here too in front of whom she didn’t have to hide! And that reminded her of the amulet – the amulet that was with Arthur. Deciding she should get her amulet back, Mila hatched a plan and waited for the night to fall. **~** While Mila waited for the night to fall, Arthur and Rah back in Collins kingdom tried to escape. But everywhere they turned, they found Keplins men acting as a sentry. “How will we even escape?” Arthur muttered, trying to think. “We grew up here, surely we can fin
MILA While Arthur and Rah went ahead to the forest, Mila waited patiently. She didn’t know what was going on back in the Collins kingdom but she dreaded her return. As the day progressed, the wait for Mila grew unbearable. So, she summoned Osho – who had agreed to visit her in her chambers so that she could be herself and talk freely without the risk of enchanting anyone. “My lady,” Osho bowed humbly as he entered. “Please close the door, Osho,” Mila replied from a corner. This corner was covered with curtains that allowed help and maids to come into Mila’s room. Every time someone knocked, Mila would hide behind the curtains, and as days passed, Mila had been spending a lot of time in this corner alone. “You made a mistake, Mila Daniels - Sharpe - Collins,” Osho spoke pointedly as he closed the door shut, giving them privacy. “Mistake?” Mila spoke as she stepped out of her corner and looked at him curiously. “By giving Arthur what you hold most dear,” Osho replied. “You mean
