ARTHUR & MILA “Are you hurt anywhere?” Mila asked as they climbed up. “Not much,” Arthur huffed as he pressed on his chest instinctively. “I can live with it.” “But you don’t have to, now do you?” Mila grinned and placing her hand on his chest, she muttered, “recuperate” under her breath and Arthur’s breath deepened. “What did you do?” Arthur asked, grinning. He had the most amused expressions on his face. “I healed you,” Mila caressed Arthur’s chest lovingly. “Till the time I am with you, you don’t have to worry about any injury, any illness. I hope I am allowed to heal you without your permission. Arthur looked around, they were alone. He pulled over her mask, grabbed her waist and kissed her fully. “You can do anything to me without my permission, if you know what I mean,” he grinned, pulling back. “Ah, does not align with what you said before,” Mila sighed. Arthur narrowed his eyes at this. “You know what I mean!” “I do, my lord,” Mila bowed dramatically, and laughing, th
ARTHUR & MILA It took Mila more than a week to heal everyone in the Keats clan. And by the end of it, Mila and Arthur were their prince and princess. Everyone in the kingdom was treating them as royalty and were bringing their woes to them. And though Arthur was doing the needful, he was worried. “If my father found out about me acting as their leader, he would behead me with his wolf’s teeth,” Arthur muttered to Mila one afternoon. Mila chuckled but didn’t respond. “Seriously,” Arthur stressed, “I know they have no leader at present, but I cannot be their leader for long.” “You can be if you accept them in Collins clan,” Mila replied simply. Arthur stared at her for a long while. “They have homes here, they have lives here,” Arthur shook his head. “I doubt they would come with us.” “Ask them first, before making any assumptions,” Mila smiled.
ARTHUR The last conversation with Mila forced Arthur to head out to meet his father the next morning. He was not desperate to mate with her physically, but he was desperate to know if she really was his true mate or not. And that was not possible until they have shared their bodies with each other. Part of Arthur was furious with Mila. What was the matter with her? Both Arthur and Mila knew that they were mates, so what was the problem! But another part of Arthur, the part that loved and respected Mila, knew she was right. Mila wanted what she truly deserved and it would be wrong on Arthur’s part to force otherwise. The people of Keats clan were not happy to see their prince go. They had surrounded him and were not ready to let him leave. They were sure he would not come back and they would be left without a leader. “I am not your true leader anyways,” Arthur announced. A hush fell in the crowd at these words. “I am the future alpha of Collins clan and this kingdom is of Keats cla
ARTHUR As Arthur went farther away from Mila, his feeling of surety of Mila being his true mate was getting a little diminished. He could sense Mila still, it was as if she on the tip of tongue, like she was on the verge of his skin, but he could not fixate on her, i.e., he could not tell where she was. When in close proximity, he could always tell in which part of the palace Mila was, but he could not anymore. Earlier, all he needed to do was inhale deeply, and like there was a compass in his heart that always pointed towards Mila, Arthur knew where she was. This had strengthened since the night they had spent together in those chambers – the night that Mila had erased from his memory. Did they really mate and the bond of mates didn’t establish? Is it why Mila erased his memories? What had happened that night that forced Mila to take this step? All through the way, and it was a long way, Arthur thought about this… he loved Mila so much, and he was sure Mila too loved him. But… W
ARTHUR As Arthur got dressed after a long bath, he realized the time. There was something about the baths drawn by Rah that Arthur always lost track of time! “Oh no!” Arthur exclaimed as he hurried out. Arthur and Mila had decided that Mila would open a portal in her hut at 3PM each day to talk to each other, and it was already 2:50PM. Arthur ran to her hut, raising suspicions around. Well, who won’t be suspicious if their prince disappeared for around a week, and is suddenly seen running around the palace in a panicked mode. “I am here… I am here…” Arthur shouted as he ran inside the hut, panting. Arthur feared that he had missed her, but she was there, her face breaking in an incredible smile. “You are here,” Mila smiled even more broadly. “I thought I missed you again!” “Oh, I miss you, you know,” Arthur smiled as he slumped on her bed and stared at her beautiful face. It was as if she was sitting just a few feet away from her, even though she was miles and miles away. “I
ARTHUR Ideally Arthur should have left, but somehow he could not. There was a charm in this room, a mystical energy that resonated with Mila. Arthur was lying down on Mila’s bed when he heard commotion outside. It was as if a lot of people were surrounding the place. Arthur jumped out of bed and looked around. Things from the Keats clan palace were scattered around. Arthur hurried and cleaned up the place, dumping everything under Mila’s bed and hiding it with a ragged bedcover. He was putting away broken sword when the door opened and his father entered. “So the rumors are true,” his father asked. He had a mischievous grin on his face as he scanned Arthur’s face. “Why does it look like I found you doing something naughty?” his father laughed. “Err, hello father,” Arthur bowed lightly. “What happened to this sword?” his father asked curiously. He had moved forward to hug Arthur but took the broken blade instead. “I don’t know, I found it this way,” Arthur shrugged. “It is not
ARTHUR “What?” his father just stared at him, dumbfounded. “I want to marry Mila,” Arthur repeated. “I do not understand,” his father was utterly confused. “I love her,” Arthur added. “Have you seen her face?” his father asked curiously. “I have, and she is incredibly beautiful,” Arthur smiled at the memory of her delicate features. “You are charmed?” his father deduced. “Maybe there is merit to Chloe’s words.” “Mila has not enchanted me,” Arthur sighed. “You would not know if you were enchanted,” his father added thoughtfully. “I think she is my true mate,” Arthur repeated. “She is a weapon, she is very powerful, who knows what powers she is hiding,” his father muttered to himself. “She is powerful, yes, but she is not using her powers on me,” Arthur clarified. “How do you know?” his father demanded. “And what is the hurry? If she is your mate, then mate with her. Find out if she really is your mate first.” “She is upset that I am linked to Chloe. She would not, well, s
ARTHUR Arthur decided to avoid Mila at the midnight like they had planned to. He knew Mila would have had practiced all day to make the portal bigger, but Arthur would not go, he just could not go. He needed time to think, he needed time to put his thoughts together. How can he know if she was his mate, without mating with her. How was it even possible? Maybe if he had someone with in whom he could confide. A friend, perhaps. But he didn’t have any such friends. To grow up as a royalty had its perks, but it also had its side-effects. And one of the biggest side effect was that Arthur had no friend. He had a lot of servants and he knew a lot of sycophants who were there to use him and abuse any word that he may utter carelessly, but not any friends. Rah was the closest friend he had in the kingdom, but he was human. As Arthur lay in his chambers wondering, he thought of Mila. Ho
