ARTHUR & MILA Later that evening Mila and Arthur met with Osho to discuss the path ahead. “I see radiance,” Osho smiled as he saw Mila’s face. “I see your happiness and that, in turn, makes me very happy, Mila - Sharpe - Daniels - Collins,” and he smiled genuinely. “She soon with be a Collins,” Arthur beamed too. “Soon is yet to pass, Arthur Collins. Many incredible challenges lay ahead of you both, so, that future, though not uncertain, is yet unforeseeable,” Osho replied and both Arthur and Mila looked at each other, confused. “What kind of many incredible challenges?” Arthur asked tentatively. “You will see as they will come to pass, Arthur Collins,” Osho shook his head. “What is it you both wanted to know when you came to see me?” he asked. Mila and Arthur hesitated. “We need to go and declare that we are mates back in Collins kingdom,” Arthur spoke. “To my
ARTHUR & MILA “Father!” Arthur exclaimed, feeling appalled. “When you are of my age, you will understand. This filth,” he spat at the floor, “woman nothing more than a beggar, can never be your queen!” It was perhaps the repetition of the words ‘filth’ and ‘beggar’ that triggered Arthur, as he said, “Mila is a werewolf, father, like us. She is an alpha already. She is ruling the former Keats kingdom, and very successfully. She is,” he inhaled heavily, “of a pure bloodline. Of a powerful ancestry, and is a true alpha!” His father took a step back at these words. “True alpha?” his father whispered in shock. “Which clan does she belong to? And if she is a wolf, an alpha already, why was she living in that filthy hut?” his father demanded. “Mila show him,” Arthur ordered and Mila understood what he was asking. She hid her hand behind her back, took off gloves from one hand
ARTHUR & MILA As Mila stirred and came through, she realized she was in a prison cell. Four guards were standing outside the prison door and all looked exceptionally worried. They even looked terribly scared as they kept on giving her shifty looks. She didn’t know what Raul Collins, aka Arthur’s father told them, but she was sure he had asked them to guard her… And she didn’t know what he gave her, but it was definitely some kind of deadly poison. Mila tried to think, and call out to Arthur but she felt resistance, not from his side but from Grace’s side. Grace was weak, she was ill. It was her who was affected most by the poison. ‘Wolfsbane,’ Mila muttered to herself as she tried to sit up, but the effect of the wolfsbane was still in her body. “Sana” she muttered as she clutched her chest and felt the pain alleviate slightly. She repeated the process for a while, on her chest a few times, on her stomach, on her head and by the time – what felt like hundredth to her – she was f
ARTHUR & MILA As Arthur made Mila climb into her bed, the impact of his own father’s betrayal hit him with full force. Away from his father’s broken form, away from seeing his father getting beaten up, he realized the depth of his father’s actions. Arthur had never felt such pain in his life. The moment when the wolfsbane has taken effect in Mila’s body, it was as if a boulder had hit Arthur. Not just Mila, but Arthur too had passed out, a few seconds after Mila, yes, but he had. The pain was unbearable. But how could he do it? His own father poisoned his mate. If his own father would do things like this, what would the world do? Was Osho indeed right? Was her Sharpe blood deadlier than he had anticipated? Would everyone target her? Arthur sat beside her and looked at her pained expressions. He knew she was not hurting physically, the magical flower would have ensured that her every ailment was taken care of. Her situation was more emotional and psychological. Arthur could not even
ARTHUR & MILA Everyone was stunned by Mila’s announcement. And Arthur was ashamed. Everyone was looking at him, partly with a confused expression and partly with accusing look. “I made a mistake,” Arthur sighed as he rubbed his face with his hands. He just didn’t know what to say or do. “I didn’t know my father had a genealogy that has photos. I didn’t know he would know what the original Daniels – Sharpe looked like. He just made the connection somehow and looked it up!” “How did he know? How he sensed that connection?” Osho demanded. “I transformed for him,” Mila sobbed. “What?” Osho gasped. “She semi-transformed. A power that only reigning alpha has,” Arthur corrected. “And he saw the red glint,” Osho deduced. “My Grace was red,” Mila choked as she remembered the bright red colour of Grace’s fur, and another pang of guilt and hurt engulfed her. “Don’t you know that the Sharpe clan was popular for being red?” Osho demanded. “That the connection between red and danger start
ARTHUR & MILA“What did he mean, Mila?” Arthur asked the moment the door closed behind Osho. Mila had a horrified and tragic look on her face and Arthur was worried about respect to what Mila was being asked to do!When Mila didn’t reply, he asked again, “Mila, what is Osho asking you to do? What is it that you are so scared of?”Mila was still speechless. It was not just she was just scared, she was terrified. Mila gulped and spoke, “My prison,” the two words came out as a mere whisper but everyone heard them.“You have a prison?” Ajax asked, “Well of course,” he added, “all alphas have prisons, but why are you so scared to visit your own prison?”“He doesn’t know,” Rah interjected. “I also have heard, but what about it?” Rah asked, indicating to Ajax that he would fill him in later.“I don’t have a prison,” Mila shook her head. Her eyes were glassy and her face had a fazed-out expression. It was as if she was somewhere else. “I was a prisoner! I have spent most of my life in prison.
ARTHUR & MILAMila and Arthur went back to their chambers and got dressed.Mila couldn’t help herself but smile throughout the process. Even Arthur was smiling, and though she did not know what was going on in his head, she knew why she was happy. For starters, she was sure of Grace’s life. Grace was alive and it was a reason for celebration. And also, she could not help but remember how their bodies had wrapped together minutes ago. How his naked body felt against her breasts. How with each stroke, Arthur was moving the water, and how the water was lapping against Mila’s skin. How Mila’s back was scratching the edge of the pool, and how even that feel made her feel erotic and hungry for him. And how, how Arthur made today about her. About Mila only. Only about her pleasure. He knew their mating was the reason why their minds had linked. And mind linking is a trait of wolves. So, how Arthur used his body to stir Grace in Mila’s head.“Why are you smiling like this?” Arthur asked.Mila
ARTHUR & MILABoth Mila and Arthur looked at each other, blushing.“What happened?” Arthur demanded as he finally got up from the bed and stood by the door to talk to Rah.“Umm… better to show you,” Rah spoke. Arthur and Mila could hear the suppressed grin in his voice.Embarrassed and flushed, Mila got up from the bed too and got dressed. “We shall go,” she whispered softly.“Good idea,” Rah spoke from the other side of the door and both Mila and Arthur stared at each other with shocked expressions.“Are you listening at the door, Rah?” Arthur accused.“Sire,” Rah spoke with a soft hint of sarcasm, “I don’t need to listen at the door, you are quite loud anyways.”Arthur grunted in anger and heard Rah shuffle back.“I will wait for you in the courtyard then,” Rah called out and they heard him run away.“Can you make these chambers sound resistant?” Arthur asked Mila as he too got dressed.“You mean to avoid any sound to travel to and fro?” Mila asked as she thought about it.“Yes, I w
