Ava's POV

I woke up smiling at exactly six A.M the following morning, and my hands went straight to my neck to feel the pendant. Smiling again, I stretched and got out of bed and went to get my yoga mat to do some proper stretches before I start getting ready for the day.

I finished my routine at six thirty, went to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth and after that, I went downstairs to make some coffee to get myself energized for the activities ahead- I really needed that caffeine. After that was done, I went back upstairs to run my bath, which was so relaxing and soothing, after which I selected my outfit for the day.

For my make-up, I decided to go for a natural look, keeping it simple and fresh. I applied a light foundation for an even skin tone, and a touch of concealer to brighten up any imperfections. Opted for neutral eyeshadows to enhance my eyes subtly, finishing with a thin line of brown eyeliner. Mascara added a hint of drama to my lashes. A rosy blush on th

Ava's POV"Hi, Miss Ava. Just sign here and here." "Alright." I signed on the clipboard the representative was holding to record that I had received the goods and they were in good condition. While that was going on, Logan and someone else were busy putting the things into the back of the pickup truck and by the time I was done, they had just two items left but they were small so Logan offered to carry them himself. The people thanked us for arriving on time and we thanked them for bringing out goods to us in perfect condition. When that was done, we said our goodbyes and we're on our way. "Thank you so much for your help today Logan, I'm really grateful." "You're welcome Ava. Anytime. So are you heading to the office now?" "No. I want to stop at the mall and pick up some DIY decorations to make the place more homely and maybe some chocolates and candy for when I treat kids and they behave well." "That's a plan. Do you want me to come with you or stay in the car?" "You could com

Ava's POVWe decided to meet at lemon drops cafe, which was my favorite cafe in town. Lemon Drops Cafe had a really nice and cozy look. The tables were made of wood and had small vases with cute yellow flowers. The chairs were all different, it's like they were collected over time, giving a homey feeling. The walls had a mix of bricks and soft colors, making it a pretty background. The cafe got plenty of light from its big windows, and there were warm string lights hanging above, adding a nice touch to the environment. A big chalkboard showed the menu with tasty treats. The people working there always wore aprons with happy pictures of lemons. The counter looked a bit old but loved, where you could smell the delicious coffee. The cafe had a mix of old-fashioned charm and a comfortable, modern vibe, making it a great place to enjoy. My favorite treat was their lemon drop cake which was a perfect blend of zingy and sweet. I usually ordered that anytime I visited but today wasn't just my

Ava's POVMy hands flew to my neck to remove the pendant when I realized it wasn't there. I became frantic as I tried to remember if I put it on from the house and when I realized I did, I began to search my bag. I emptied out all the contents of the bag and searched the tiny compartments but I found nothing. I also wondered if I took it off while taking stuff upstairs but I couldn't remember anything. Beads of sweat started forming on my forehead, the walls of the parlor began to close in on me and the air in there was no longer enough for me. "Ava, calm down, relax, breathe" I stretched out my arms and he took a hold of it. The next thing, I heard him inhaling and exhaling repeatedly until I began to breathe in synchronization with him. "Where did you learn that?" I asked after I had finally calmed down, "Let's just say I am very observant and I have a photographic memory." I nodded my head to show that I had acknowledged what he had just told me because I was trying to sip wate

Ava's POVI literally woke up with a smile like all those ladies in movies and novels and it was there I knew that was a possibility. I yawned, stretched and sat up on my bed to gather my other sleeping parts together. When I felt, I got up and went into the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth per my usual routine but I realized the bathroom door had moved from where it usually is ‘I thought doors were non living things and non living things don't move so how did my door move?’I found no answer to the thought lingering in my head and that was when I started taking in the view of my environment properly. I blinked twice, then three times as I tried to remember where I was, and I didn't drink last night so I wondered why it was hard for me to remember a very simple occurrence. I went back to the bed and sat at the edge before I remembered I was watching a movie with Logan, so it would only be logical for me to be at his house. I exhaled gratefully because I was safe and then

Ava's POV"Logan? Oh my goodness!" I rushed to him but before I could get a hold of him, he fell down with a loud thud. "Logan! Logan, can you hear me?" I felt the tears were already gathering but I had to pull myself together and swing into my doctor mode. "Francis, quick, help me!" Together, we were able to take him up to his room and lay him on the bed. "Quick, get me the first aid box!" The housekeeper, Ana, rushed downstairs and brought it to me. Before I commenced I asked them to leave the room so i could attend to him properly. "Logan, I don't know if you can hear me, I need you! You can't leave me now that our plan is blossoming you hear! I need you to gather whatever energy you have left and start your healing process!" I cut the remaining parts of the shirt to reveal his skin covered with a lot of bruises, not all of them were fresh, but I could see he had fought for a lot of reasons and a lot of times. I decided to start with the knife piercing at his side even tho

Ava's POV I sprinted to his bedside as soon as he called my name and my heart raced as I stroked his hair like I would to any of my kids. “Hey” “Ava,” he smiled as he tried to sit upright “No, don’t! you’re injured.” “And don’t you think I know? See, I need to be up and moving once the external injuries are healed.” “And how about the internal ones?” “Ava, don’t you know the healing process starts from the inside?.” “Oh, yeah. I forgot.” “How won’t you? you’re even more stressed than me- the injured person.” “That’s not fair to me! Do you know how worried I was? Do you know how hard I cried? every time i looked at you lying on the bed, i couldn’t help but tell myself that i was responsible for your predicament” “Ava, This was bound to happen, and I’m glad it happened sooner rather than later.” “What do you mean?” “Allow me to explain. Aiden and I were bound to butt heads at any time, and your presence in the equation just hastened the process.” “You know this was him?

Ava's POV I got to the Mariana which was the location Aiden had sent me, and honestly, I wasn't in love with the external features of "The Mariana." The exterior was quite understated, lacking the charm or allure I usually seek in a restaurant. Its faded sign hinted at a once-vibrant establishment, now weather-worn and slightly neglected. The paint on the walls seemed to have lost its luster, carrying a dull, off-white hue. The windows, though clean, didn't showcase anything enticing; they were tinted and unadorned, leaving no glimpse of what the inside looked like. The architecture felt outdated, lacking the modern appeal that usually draws me in. A couple of wilted potted plants near the entrance attempted to add some greenery but only highlighted the overall lack of care. Overall, the ambiance projected a sense of mediocrity that didn't align with my preferences for an inviting dining experience but I decided to not judge a book by its cover. ‘tsk I thought Aiden could do better’

LOGAN'S POVAiden was cheap and that was an established fact. I was glad that this whole saga was coming to an end pretty soon and that life was going to return to normal. We had all been through a lot with Ava having the lion's share, being at the forefront. Like Aiden said, the gala was coming up and I still hadn't received my invitation and apart from that, Ava had not gotten home yet. I stood up and went downstairs to get myself a drink when the doorbell rang. I turned towards the door and it rang again. I didn't move because I knew the housekeeper was going to open it up so I continued what I was doing. The bell rang a third time and there was still no response so I decided to answer it myself. I opened the door but there was no one there, only a Royal Blue box. I picked up the box, and it felt fancy in my hands. The royal blue color shimmered like a deep, calm ocean. The box was smooth, like touching silk, and had a golden trim that added a touch of elegance. Opening it, a burst

Ava’s POVThere was a fight outside, and after a while, the basement doors swung open."Are you okay, ma'am?" Alphonso asked. It was Alphonso.Alphonso said he got some signals from Logan and followed them, leading them here."How did he do that, I thought...""That doesn't matter right now, please. Let's get Logan to the hospital ASAP.""Sure, ma'am, we will."Alphonso then gave instructions to the other guards. "Secure the pathway outside. We are bringing the Alpha out."Alphonso then assured me that I shouldn't worry; Logan would be fully fine. They rushed Logan to the hospital, and his heart was barely beating. I felt really sad and scared, thinking about the worst.Aiden's messed-up plan had put us in a tough spot, and Logan got hurt a lot because I was involved. I promised myself I wouldn't forgive me if Logan didn't make it.As they took Logan to the hospital in a hurry, my mind was all over the place with feelings of guilt and hope. The results of what we did were tough, and I

Ava’s POVAiden, still perched on the stool, smiled smugly. "Did you think I would let you walk away so easily after bringing Logan here?"Ava's surprise was palpable. "Wasn't our deal to make Logan confess his crimes?" she questioned, her disbelief evident.Aiden's laughter echoed through the room. "Oh, my dear Ava, you were a pawn in a much larger game. Our plans went beyond what you could see. We were using you all along."Ava's eyes widened, a mixture of shock and anger contorting her expression. She struggled against the guards, attempting to break free from the invisible chains that held her."No," she exclaimed, desperation lacing her voice. "This can't be happening."Isabella, Aiden's partner in deception, approached Ava from behind. "Oh, dear Ava, you were so blinded by your anger that you failed to see the bigger picture. We never intended to set you free. You were merely a means to an end."Ava's world crumbled around her as the realization sank in. Aiden and Isabella had m

Logan’s POV In a fit of rage, I tightened my grip on Aiden, my desire for answers overwhelming me. "Tell me the truth, Aiden! What have you done to Ava?" I snarled, my patience wearing thin. Aiden, still chuckling, managed to straighten his disheveled shirt. "What if I told you those triplets are yours?" he sneered, reveling in my shock. I recoiled, disbelieving. "That's a lie! Ava would never have an affair with a bastard like you!" I retorted, my blood boiling. Aiden's laughter only intensified. "Oh, but Logan, what if we hear it from the horse's mouth?" he teased, his words dripping with malicious intent. In a blind rage, I drew a knife, the metallic glint reflecting the anger in my eyes. "You're lying!" I growled, my voice low and menacing. Aiden, seemingly unafraid, continued to taunt me. "What if Ava herself confirmed it? What if she admitted that those triplets are a product of our secret affair?" he jeered, the revelation slicing through me like a knife. Rage consumed m

Logan’s POVI tried hard to break free from the ropes, feeling them scratch my skin. They held me like strong chains, keeping me stuck in this strange place. I pulled and pulled, hoping to get away from this scary situation. The room was so quiet, and it made me feel trapped. It wasn't a nice quiet; it felt like something scary was hiding in the air. But I didn't want to be scared. I needed to stay calm and figure out how to leave. The room was really cold, and it gave me shivers. I wanted a clue or a sign to help me understand why I was here. But the flickering candle just made weird shapes on the walls, like they were dancing.Time went by really slowly, and my head hurt a lot. I needed to think clearly and get out of this mess. "Stay calm, Logan," I told myself quietly. Even though the dark room felt heavy, I didn't want it to make me feel too scared. I listened hard, hoping to hear something that could help, but it stayed quiet, keeping its secrets. The candle's dim light showed t

Logan’s POVThe pain was all over me, like being stung by a bunch of bees at once. My body felt all shaky, and I could taste blood in my mouth. I couldn't let them win, though. Not for me, but for my wife, Ava. I had to show them I was stronger than they thought by getting up.It was like, "Come on, Logan, you can do this." I tried to get up, even though the ground was hard and my body felt heavy. I could see fuzzy forms moving as the world spun around me. There was talk, but it sounded like whispers from far away. "Ava needs me," I groaned. I can't let them keep me down." The pain was like a fire burning inside me, but I focused on my love for my wife. I had to get back on my feet. One of the guys—the one with the sneer—kicks me in the stomach with his foot. I gasped for air, feeling like all the wind got knocked out of me. I fell back to the ground, my body hurting all over. "You won't break me," I whispered to myself, trying to find power in those words. The men were laughing no

Logan’s POVI couldn't shake the unease settling in the pit of my stomach as I glanced once more at the mysterious man across the room. Ava's laughter and the clinking of utensils against plates filled the air, but my attention was fixated on the stranger, who seemed to be deliberately avoiding eye contact this time.Ava noticed the shift in my demeanor and reached across the table to gently touch my hand. "Logan, you seem really distant. Are you sure everything's okay?"I forced myself to smile, appreciating Ava's concern. "Yeah, just lost in thought. You know how it is sometimes." I didn't want to worry her further, but the weight of the unknown pressed on me.Ava studied me for a moment before nodding. "Okay, if you say so. But if there's anything you want to talk about, I'm here."Taking a deep breath, I decided to confide in Ava, albeit cautiously. "Actually, I did see someone earlier. A guy who seems to be watching us. It's probably nothing, but it's got me a bit on edge."Ava's

Ava’s POVI couldn't help but marvel at the grandeur of the 5-star hotel as Logan and I stepped out of our car. The lobby was adorned with glittering chandeliers, and the marble floors reflected the soft glow of ambient lighting. The atmosphere exuded luxury and sophistication."Wow, this place is wonderful," I exclaimed, my eyes wide with awe.Logan nodded in agreement, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "I know, right?" he said. "They have a really nice view, and their services are top-notch.""That's why I brought us here, babe," I replied with a grin, taking Logan's hand as we began walking towards the entrance of the hotel. The valet attendant quickly took charge of our car, allowing us to focus on the elegance that surrounded us."Hmm, that's nice," Logan remarked, glancing around as we entered the lobby.I continued to admire the opulence of the hotel, my gaze drawn to the artwork on the walls and the stylish furnishings. Logan’s POV Considering the question, I replied, "I thought about that too. I'll make sure to assign some of the pack chiefs and guards to assist him. That way, the workload won't be too much for him to handle." Ava nodded, appreciating the plan. "That's a thoughtful approach, Logan. It's good to consider everyone's well-being." Feeling a sense of relief, I continued, "Yeah, I want to make sure everyone is taken care of, especially during our absence." Ava's eyes lit up. "Well, it sounds like you've got everything under control, Logan. Now, I can't wait to spend this coming vacation with you and our little one." I smiled, knowing that Ava was looking forward to the vacation as much as I was. "It's going to be amazing, Ava. "It's the perfect time for us to relax and enjoy some quality family moments." Ava, suddenly more lighthearted, asked, "So now, what hotel are we selecting?" She scrolled through her tablet, searching for the perfect place. I chuckled, "Well, let's go for some

Logan’s POVI propped myself up on my elbow, looking down at Ava. "What if we take a vacation, just the two of us? A break from all the stress and responsibilities," I suggested. She raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the idea. "A vacation? That sounds tempting. Where do you have in mind?" I asked.Ava grinned, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "How about a cozy cabin in the mountains? A place where we can disconnect from the pack and work, just focus on each other, and recharge."I considered the idea, a smile playing on my lips. "You know, that doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. We both need a break. The pack and work have been weighing us down lately."Ava nodded in agreement. "Exactly! We deserve some time for ourselves. It's been so stressful, and I can see it's taking a toll on you too.""A cozy cabin in the mountains does sound tempting, Ava," I said, my brow furrowed with thoughtful consideration.
