I felt my body stir on the bed and suddenly, my eyes were forced open at the sound of vague whispers. Even now, I can hear it like she was still there, whispering into my ear.

‘Leave, Eleanor. Leave before it’s too late,’ She’d whispered the words into my ear as I stared at myself in the mirror of the dressing room that day. She was there too. Her curly red hair contradicted her empty grey eyes. I’d wondered whether it was her natural color.
