"I wish Mondays never existed," She mumbled tiredly as she walked down the street.
Evelyn Brown was a 20 years old girl who lived with her elder brother. She was kind and a sweet soul who loved to see everyone happy. She was also very hardworking.
Her dream was to open an amazing coffee shop down the street. And it won't be an ordinary coffee shop. Rather it'll also be a small library where she will put her favorite fictional books. People like her would love her coffee shop. She has also decided on the theme of her cafe.
Evelyn inhaled deeply. She has been very passionate about her goal and she knows she'll make it come true one day. Then she could also help her brother. They both will be financially independent. Then her brother won't have to work extra for her. Good days will come soon.
Evelyn has been doing her major in journalism and she was also doing a part-time job as a barista in a coffee shop, to at least meet the expenses of her education on her own.
Evelyn was never scared of hard work. Her brother had raised her well. Her life revolves around her brother, Joshua. They were inseparable and despite being half-siblings they still love each other immensely, after all, they only have each other in this big scary world.
She walked inside the cafe through the backdoor and greeted Susan. Her friend at the workplace.
"Evelyn, you're late. Go hurry take your place," Susan said as she walked to the counter.
Evelyn quickly got changed into her work uniform as she tied her hair in a ponytail and took her position.
The customers kept piling in as she checked on the orders and prepared the drinks.
Susan on the other hand was taking the orders and the payments.
"Why are you late?" Susan asked.
"The professor requested me to go through his article once and give him some suggestions if needed," Evelyn informed and Susan sighed.
"You're too naive. You like to help people but they just take advantage of you. Would your professor add your name to the contributors of that article? Probably not," She said as Evelyn passed her an order and she called the number.
"It's alright. And I like to help so it's fine if he won't put my name on the contribution list," She said with a light shrug of her shoulders.
"Susan, can you please check in the store what stock is needed and make me a list, Evelyn and I would handle it here," their boss, Mrs. Smith said.
"Sure," Susan said as she walked into the storage room at the back.
"Evelyn, you take the counter, I'll do it." Mrs. Smith said as she took the mug from Evelyn's hands.
Evelyn greeted the customer with a smile and took the lady's order along with the payment.
She typed the order into the system as she felt the presence of the next customer.
"Good afternoon, what would you like to have?" She said with a beautiful smile while looking up at the customer only to pause when her eyes met with grey spheres that reminded her of the dark storm.
But those eyes weren't the only thing that made her freeze, but rather it was the beauty of the person. He was tall. Almost 6'3, and looked like a beast. Suddenly the coffee shop seemed smaller in his presence. The suit he wore screamed money and he had a muscular build as power oozed out of him in waves.
She has never seen such a rich-looking man in this area let alone in a small coffee shop.
Evelyn dropped her gaze noticing other customers behind him in the queue.
She plastered a smile back on her face and looked at him. "What would you like to order sir?" She asked professionally with a smile.
Mrs. Smith has taught Susan and Evelyn that they must greet customers with a sweet tone and a beautiful smile as it makes the customer comfortable and cozy.
But right now. The grey-eyed man was just peering down at her without ordering anything and she started to get nervous under his scrutiny.
"What's special here?" His deep raspy voice had her eyes snapping up to meet his.
"Everything is best here but our Latte and Cappuccino are my favorites here," She said with a smile looking at his temple because he was way too intimidating for her to maintain eye contact.
"One Latte please," He ordered while gazing at the nameplate on her apron.
"That'll be $2.95, sir." She said as that man passed her a black card and she gaped at it. She forced herself not to look at the man. Of course, he was wearing expensive clothes. It was obvious he'll be a black cardholder.
Evelyn charged the card as she handed it to him back with a receipt and he walked to one of the tables.
She breathed a sigh as she greeted the other customer and took the orders.
That guy was so intense and ridiculously handsome. She hasn't looked keenly at his face except for the first accidental look but how could someone be this handsome? Maybe rich people were also gifted with good looks along with money.
She took the third order and entered the order in the system. There were no more customers so she glanced around the place only for her eyes to pause at the man who was sitting alone talking on the phone. He hasn't touched his Latte at all.
The bell above the door dinged as a man walked inside. He was also tall and dressed like the guy who was sitting.
The grey-eyed guy stood up and they both talked. Almost everyone was looking at them because they seriously looked out of place.
His side pose was beautiful too in a rugged kind of way. The light stubble suits him. As if noticing her gaze his grey eyes moved and he locked eyes with her causing her to stiffen as she abruptly dropped her gaze.
The tip of her ears tinted red because of the embarrassment of being caught red-handed while gaping at him.
"Miss. Brown." Her eyes snapped up when a shadow loomed over her.
She gulped meeting those grey hues again. "This, for you." He husked as she looked down and found the Latte which he hadn't even touched.
Before she could say anything he turned around and walked out of the coffee shop along with that other man.
"Evelyn," She jumped, hearing Mrs. Smith's giddy voice as she wiggled her brows at her. "Do you know him?" She queried and Evelyn shook her head.
"Well, you can have a 5-minute break and have it as he didn't even touch it," Mrs. Smith said pointing at the Latte as Evelyn nodded her head.
That was a weird tip.

"I hate this bastard!" Axel grumbled, annoyed. Apparently, his beta was supposed to show up there with the owner of the place so they could have a meeting at any cafe at the location. Axel wants to buy some area in this location for business purposes. He wanted to open another branch of his boutique here. Several brands worked under him.
He was waiting at the brink of his patience as he rolled down the window and at the same time a girl whoosh passed his car and he paused.
The most exquisitely, exotic scent of fresh flowers reached his nose as he inhaled deeply with closed eyes, filling his lungs with it.
His eyes fluttered open as he looked around for the girl and noticed that same black backpack as she scurried into the alley.
Axel watched in silence as after a few minutes he saw that same girl at the counter of the coffee shop. The shop had glass walls so he could easily see her.
He breathed again to get a whiff of her scent but there was none. He checked his wristwatch and Daniel still hadn't arrived with the owner.
Axel got out of his Mercedes, the latest model as he locked it and made his way to the coffee shop. The place was cheap for his taste but it wasn’t like he'll have anything there except for some water.
He walked inside and frowned realizing he had to get in the queue.
Axel waited for the woman in front of him to step aside so he could get a look at the girl who had this unique scent. He has never scented someone so good in his entire life. Compared to humans, werewolves have an extreme level of senses.
When the woman moved aside he stepped ahead and the pupil of his irises dilated slightly looking at the girl in front of him.
The first thing that popped inside his head was beautiful.
She gave him a white pearly smile and his dark eyes roamed her heart-shaped face. She has fluffy cheeks and plump cherry lips. There was a natural blush on her cheeks and her long honey locks were up in a ponytail.
For a second he forgot what he was there for. He inhaled deeply and her intoxicating scent almost made him growl at how good she smelled.
She was a human. Why does she smell different than humans? It was unique and delicious. Like her scent was coaxing him to have a taste of her.
He forgot to breathe for the tiniest second when she raised her eyes. His cold eyes collided with the warmest hues of big brown pools. She looked like a doll.
Coming out of his trance, he ordered his drink after reading her name on the nameplate.
Evelyn Brown.
He passed her his card for the payment. When she returned the card her pinky finger brushed against his.
He inhaled again before walking away. Sitting at the table he kept glancing at her. How she greeted all the customers with a captivating smile. She looked young and innocent.
Taking out his phone he dialed Daniel who picked up on the first call.
"Where the f*ck are you?" Axel hissed on the phone.
"I'm sorry, boss. I'll be there in two minutes," Daniel said.
If it was anyone else at Daniel's place, the person would've been beaten and bruised for coming late but Axel couldn't beat him because he was his only best friend since childhood.
"I'm at the Smith's coffee shop, come here," With that said, Axel dropped the call.
And just as he said, Daniel showed up after two minutes. Daniel informed him that the owner wasn't willing to sell the place no matter how much they'd pay.
"F*cking pathetic! Wastage of my time," Axel gritted in annoyance.
He could feel someone's gaze on him as his eyes locked with those chocolaty brown spheres.
He walked up to her before placing his Latte on the counter. He took a whiff of her scent again. Damn. It was just so amazing. He noticed Daniel was still standing at his place unbothered by anything. Did he not smell this unique scent?
Glancing at her once, he walked out of there quietly with Daniel.
Evelyn finished her shift as greeted Susan and Mrs. Smith and hurried back home. She quickly freshened up and made dinner for the two and just as she set the food on the table in front of the couch. The door clicked open and Joshua walked in holding a paper bag as he handed it to her, patting her head lovingly and then he ruffled her hair making her whine.
"What's for dinner?" He asked, placing his watch on the table as he skimmed out of his shoes.
"Chicken pasta," Evelyn smiled while stroking her head as she checked the bag and there were two cups of chocolate ice cream in there. A smile graced her lips as she put it in the fridge.
They both had their dinner as Evelyn talked nonstop about her day and Joshua smiled at her.
Joshua loves his sister a lot. He was eight years older than her. But their bond was so pure and beautiful.
"Josh, what's there on your neck?" Evelyn asked and he touched the nail marks and sighed.
"It's nothing." He said, dismissing the topic but she couldn't move her curious gaze away.
"Are you dating someone?" She asked curiously while wiggling her brows and his eyes widened as he shook his head with a light chuckle.
"I don't have time to date. I have a goal to give you a secure future," He said curtly and she smiled sadly.
"I can take care of myself, Josh. You don't have to waste your good young days working for my future. I will work for it," She said and he smiled at her proudly before he pinched her fluffy cheek.
"Owww," She whined, rubbing her cheek and glaring at him. Joshua has always treated Evelyn like a child. He was very protective of her.
The next day Evelyn worked till late at night. Susan had to leave because she had a blind date so she requested Evelyn to take her shift and Evelyn agreed.Joshua has already called her earlier and informed her that he would work late hours as he has to prepare a presentation for tomorrow's meeting so she must have her dinner as he'll have dinner outside. There was no customer at that time as she played a game on her phone. Mrs. Smith has already left and tonight it was Evelyn's duty to close the shop.As soon as the clock struck ten. She walked to the door and locked it, shifting the banner to closed. She grabbed the stuff and started cleaning the place and put the chairs upside down on the table. She noticed the clouds rumbling outside, it was late. She hoped that it wouldn't start raining. And also she didn't tell Joshua that she would work till late hours because then he would've left his work and come to drop her home before getting back to his work. She would've contemplated tel
Evelyn walked out into the alley and breathed some fresh air. She was tired. Luckily there were fewer customers at this time in the cafe. She leaned against the door and sipped some water from the bottle. She heard a cat and her eyes lit up snapping in the direction of the little kitty. She walked after the kitty out of the alley onto the street. It was evening and the street was buzzing with people. Evelyn crouched down as she patted the kitty while smiling. The kitten meowed and Evelyn was in awe as she played with the kitten when she noticed a shadow looming over her and sleek black boots came into her line of vision. She craned her neck up and the person was tall. When her gaze collided with those grey spheres, she gasped and fell back on her butt on the floor with wide eyes. The kitten seemed scared of the huge man as the kitty scurried away leaving Evelyn behind. Her cheeks tinted red in embarrassment as the man extended his veiny hand forward for her to take. She hesitated but
"Why isn't he picking up?" She mumbled, getting worried.Joshua always gets back home on time. This was the second time he was taking so long.Last night he came so late. But he texted her not to cook his dinner because he’ll be late and when he arrived home, he was a little drunk and disheveled. There were nail marks on his neck which made Evelyn worried. He has never drunk before so it was weird for her to see him in this state for the first time. This morning she asked him why he was drunk and late last night, he said he went on a date but he didn’t remember what happened after that or when he drank so much. She didn’t question him further, she was happy that he went on a date and the nail marks on his neck made her smirk. She was happy that her brother was living his life. She was even excited to meet the girl.Three hours passed and still, there was no sign of Josh. She started to get worried as she rang Joshua's colleague. He answered on the second call."Who's this?" Samuel sai
Evelyn was terrified as she sat like a stiff statue beside the guy whose name she didn't know. Rick was driving the car and Maxwell was in the passenger's seat.Evelyn kept looking out of the window to keep track of where they were taking her but she was never good with the routes."Rory, do it," Maxwell muttered. She let out a loud gasp when abruptly something covered her eyes rather roughly and then she felt the tight knot at the back of her head. She raised her hands to remove the blindfold when Rory grabbed her hand in a rough grip and tugged it down."Stay still, if you don't want me to tie you up," He said coldly and tears leaked out of her closed eyes. One of her eyes was not even properly closed and the blindfold was too tight, almost digging into her eyes. She clutched her hands in a fist and sat there silently. She didn't know for how long they kept on driving but it was too far away from wherever they were taking her and she couldn't even hear any noise from the other cars.
His ominous laugh echoed in the dark empty place. If not for the light bulb hanging above their heads the place would drown in pitch-black darkness. It was him! Why? “A…Axel, what’s going on?” Her voice was so small and full of absolute terror. She looked to her side where Maxwell, Rick, and Rory stood as stiff as a statue and then she gazed at the front door of the rotten and old-looking warehouse. She glanced at the limp and battered body of Josh and her heart constricted in pain. How could she save her brother? They were four bulky giant men against her. She was in a compromised condition. They could kill both of them without even putting much effort into it.In her panic-stricken state, she pushed the question of why they were there to the back of her head. For now, she just wanted to save her brother. Her eyes collided with those grey hues and she flinched, involuntarily stepping back. This was the same gentleman who saved her that night and he even smiled at her just two days
"Josh w...would never do anything wrong," She mumbled but he tightened his hold on her neck and pulled her closer to such an extent that she could feel his hot breath on her face and it had her insides twisting in fear."Shut up!" He hissed and pushed her away making her stumble a step back as he turned around.Axel tried his very best to control his rage but he couldn't."Why did you hurt my brother? What did he do?" She tried to ask him calmly but pivoted to only glare at her. His gaze pierced through her soul and forced her to lower her eyes."Be grateful that he's still alive," Axel sneered and she flinched at the coldness in his voice which sounded like a growl."L....leave... E..Eve..." Josh couldn't even form a full word as tears dripped down his temple. "You Bastard!" Axel growled and charged forward, kicking Joshua's already limp body as he winced in pain."NO!" Evelyn screamed as she sprang forward and covered Joshua's body with hers. Axel's kick was about to hit her face a
Evelyn was silently crying sitting in the corridor as Josh was being treated in the emergency ward.Axel's men had dropped them at the front of the hospital and left. The people and the staff helped Joshua inside. The doctor won't start the treatment before the deposit. She didn't even have money to take a cab so she ran all the way to their apartment. Her legs had no energy and she felt dizzy but her brother's life was at stake. She grabbed all the savings and shoved them in her bag pack along with her phone. She got a cab and hurried to the hospital. After the payment and a few signatures on the important document, they started Joshua's treatment. She also heard the doctors discussing that the matter needed police involvement. They were about to approach her regarding this matter but then another doctor came dashing toward them and said something to them. They looked at Evelyn with scared eyes before heading into the room to treat Joshua. She was moving back and forth lightly while
"You're up. I brought porridge for you," Evelyn smiled at her brother who tried to sit up but couldn't and she was instantly on his side as she helped him to sit and set the pillow behind his back.He winced and tried to control the hiss of pain. She knew his whole body was in pain and he could barely move without her help.Joshua was unconscious for the whole night due to sedatives and painkillers. She was right beside him throughout the night and she woke up to him patting her head with two of his fingers. She couldn't stop her tears as she cried kissing the back of his hand. He had asked her if she was alright in that cracking voice. He could barely talk much but he still asked about those men in his groggy state. She told him that he should sleep for a while and that she would tell him everything once he woke up. He hesitantly obliged as she hurried home and prepared food for him according to the diet planner. They were supposed to do grocery shopping before all this but now there
"Honey, can you zip it for me?" She asked as Axel, who was already staring at her, walked over. Ever so slowly he grabbed the zip before leaning down only to kiss her cold skin. She shivered at the touch, turning to glare at him but he didn't let her. He held her waist tightly before giving open-mouthed kisses on her back causing her back to arch up. "Axel, we'd get late," She complained. "But you smell delicious," He grumbled, licking her spine. She held the dresser tightly as her legs wobbled. Evelyn had already put on all the makeup and done her hair too. She can't let him ruin everything because he just got horny seeing her naked back. "Later, not now. I'm ready. I won't let you ruin my makeup, stop-ouch!" He bit on her skin nibbling the skin between his teeth before sucking on it. Her eyes flew wide as she abruptly turned around placing both of her hands on his chest to keep him at distance. "Stop, you'll tease me and I'll get all bothered and wet then you'll gro
"Where do you think you're going?" Axel murmured in his deep voice from beside her as he tightened his hold on her waist. She stared at the ceiling shocked. He was awake all this time and pretended to sleep. Evelyn slowly turned around in his embrace facing him. She cupped his cheek forcing his eyes to open. As soon as he saw her face a smile caressed his lips making her heart flutter. Five years have passed and he still looks at her the same way he did when he first confessed to her. Axel has told her multiple times that whenever he wakes up with her in his arms his day goes by beautifully. Though it was just a small thing Evelyn made sure to stay in his arms until he woke up. She wants every day of his life to be happy. After all, it was the little things that mattered the most. "You were awake all this time?" She asked grumpily and he only smiled. Squishing her closer to his chest. "I like it when you gape at me and poke my chest," He murmured, causing her face to turn crimso
Evelyn gently stroked his cheek. Her heart pounded in her ears. "Please, wake up." She breathed shakily but got no response from him. She was crying silently and with each passing second her heart fell into the bottom of endless sorrow. "Our son needs us, please, Axel." She wept to hold him close to her chest. She saw a few vampires sprinting out when they found Gabriel dead. Evelyn's heart dropped when she felt his pulse slowing down. He was dying. "Axel! Please, wake up!" She wailed cupping his cheek. Her body was giving up on her as she slowly drifted into darkness still holding him in her arms. A loud gasp left Axel's lips. His whole body jerked badly as his eyes shot open wide. Her hazy eyes stared at him in relief and she knew she could finally doze off in peace as the girl finally fell into darkness. Her whole body was aching and it felt too heavy and painful to even breathe. With much difficulty, she groggily opened her eyes, and the first thing she looked for
"No f*cking way," He said in disbelief before a grin broke through his lips and he was laughing like a maniac. Pulling back he stared at her from head to toe. "F*ck! You just gave birth, didn't you?" He mused not even believing himself. "Damn! This is absolutely like buying one and getting one free. No but why am I getting so happy about it? I should probably check if my assumption is right or not," He said to himself and stepped forward still choking her. A new rush of strength washed over her. With a low hiss, her canines extended out as she clawed at his face causing him to groan in pain as his hold loosened on her. Evelyn didn't stop there. She held his face and pierced her sharp protruding nail in his right eye making him scream out and he threw her away with force as held his bleeding eye. Her back hit the wall with force knocking all the breath out of her system as she fell on the floor wheezing. Pain shot through every pore of her being. "You bitch!" He sneered. Evelyn d
Evelyn heard whimpers of pain. It was faint but it was there and that wasn't it. She could hear the faint growls and rumbles. Her body felt as if tons of weights were placed on it. She tried to move but the task seemed impossible. She slowly blinked her eyes open only for them to widen in sheer fear. "Axel," She gasped, sitting upright in a jerk. Her eyes looked around frantically before she found her son cradled in a small blanket. His gray eyes peered at the ceiling with his tiny hands moving slightly. A sob of relief tore through her lips as she grabbed her baby before pulling him to her chest. Calmness washed over her as her heart pounded faster. Pulling him back she glanced at her baby in awe. His reddish newborn skin and eyes were like Axel's but his chin was like hers. The baby glanced at her before smiling and this was one of the most beautiful moments of her life. Evelyn kissed her baby on the nose. "Brittany," She whispered, looking around but she was nowhere in sight.
Axel growled at the number of vampires that surrounded him. The wizard lay dead under him as blood dripped from Axel's canines. His huge black wolf stood like a f*cking beast. His aura was dark and menacing as power oozed out of him in waves. A couple of his security men lay dead around them along with many vampire corpses. They were more in numbers. He was in a compromised condition but he believes that Daniel will be here soon. A sudden drop in the air had his head snapping to the front gate from where Gabriel was sauntering in with more vampires. The bastard was smiling casually as he stared at the dead bodies. Axel tensed up when Gabriel stared at the window to his room before his eyes met Axel's gold ones. "My. My. My. What's all this Axel?" He mused walking over to him as he stood at a few feet distance. Looking down he nudged the corpse of the vampire whose head was decapitated. Gabriel frowned before tilting his head to look Axel in the eyes. In response, the black wol
Evelyn let out muffled sobs with one hand she was clasping her mouth shut with the other hand she was fisting the sheets. Her heart was pounding wildly and the pain was too much to bear. With each passing second she felt like she would split into two. That wasn't the only pain she was feeling. The tremendous amount of fear and anxiety that enveloped her heart was maddening. Despite being in so much pain she was praying to God for the safety of Axel and her baby. She couldn't lose any of them. She could faintly hear the growls and hisses as there was a fight going on outside. Brittany's ears were still bleeding. She wiped the blood with a towel and made tissue balls before placing them in her ears. She was in pain. No one could hear the demonic mantra except for her because she was the only witch there except for that wizard. Brittany must deliver the baby and take Eve with her child to some safe place. She couldn't let Gabriel get his hands on Eve or the baby. She won't allow it.
Gabriel has become the Lord of the vampires a few months back. The dynamic of their world changes immensely. Luckily Gabriel didn't show any bridge to werewolves and declared he'll keep the treaty. As time passed Axel realized, he must have known by now that Evelyn was a forbidden child and no one has come after her which means he didn't want to mess with Axel. Axel thought he had to fight Gabriel if he came to kill Evelyn because hybrids weren't allowed to be born if they were born, they were killed. Axel was ready to fight him for Evelyn but he never thought that the sacred blood he talked about was Evelyn. A loud booming noise echoed through the surroundings as the whole mansion rattled with the vibration of it. Brittany's head snapped up as fear gnawed at her insides. "He's here," She whispered, panicking. She again tried to open a portal, it was halfway opened when shrill high pitched noise had her covering her ears as she fell to her knees in agony. "Brittany," Evelyn gasp
Brittany barged inside the room breathing heavily as her wild violet eyes searched for them. Evelyn gasped in shock as her eyes widened at the state of Brittany. Axel's jaw clenched seeing her condition. She has several bruises on her face and arms, also her forehead was bleeding badly. "Who did this?" He growled in a low voice.Though Axel didn't trust her in the start, when she approached him for help, he found out that whatever she did was for the safety of Evelyn. He began to trust her. That was the only reason he let her come into his mansion whenever she wanted. Also, Evelyn trusts her immensely so Axel has to as well. Though he wasn't fond of witches, Brittany was now a family and if there was a threat to her, he would deal with it without a second thought. He won't let anything happen to the family he has created from the ashes of his heartache and pain. "No," She whispered as her eyes fell on Evelyn. "You need to leave, both of you, hurry," Brittany said panicked as she d
