“That’s not what I am doing here!” Her father snapped so hard that he sent spit flying all over the place. “ I am just trying to keep my son safe from treacherous monsters like you!” “ She is not a monster but my sister,” said Jacob, he didn’t raise his voice like their father but she could hear the firm authority in his voice as he sighed and looked at their father. “ I am done listening to one-sided claims where everyone points at Levy and call her a monster, murderer and whatnot… I need to see a decent piece of evidence before believing what everyone has been telling me.” “ She was with Mavis when that accident happened what more evidence do you want?” “ Like I said,” Jacob took a deep breath as he looked their father in the eyes and repeated his words. “ If you want me to believe that she is the murderer either bring me the body of the person who went missing or either bring me valid proof that I will not be able to deny even if I want to, I have listened to you and everyone e
Levy believed that she knew Logan but as she strode inside the lodge with his figure that was barely an inch away from her, she realised that she was really wrong. She did not know him as well, as she thought that she did because if she had known him then she would have also known that he was a rather overprotective man who didn’t listen to a thing that others have to say. Well, she did know that he was overprotective given he wouldn’t let Mavis go anywhere without a guard but that was a protectiveness that was understandable. On the other hand, as he chased after her with his build that was hardly holding in the rage that he was feeling—- that was completely different. He has been walking a step behind her and despite her moving around completely fine, he was treating her like she was going to break any second and that only pissed her off even more. She was an alpha female even if she wasn’t as strong as the other alpha females she was much more dominant than others she-wolves. Be
Levy would have loved to scoff and call him an idiot who was thinking too much but she couldn’t do it, even though she hated to admit it but she has always been slightly jealous of Jacob who was adored by their father for not being a mage, unlike her mother who tried to be the impartial parent, her father was simply all about Jacob, just like tonight. He has blamed her without even listening to a thing that she had to say, only caring about Jacob. Not once did he ask whether she was all right or not, not that she wanted him to care about her, she was no longer someone who would want to take any sort of grubs left on someone else table. She swallowed her curses back, she knew that if she showed that she was angry then she will only be agreeing with what he has said, so she turned around and looked at the cauldron that was heating on the stove and poured a generous amount of snake’s wine. “ I don’t know what you are talking about, do I look like I care about what he does? To me, he die
If Logan was being honest, even he has never once heard of a case where a shifter would hunt down humans to prey on them, they might be beings who relied on their instincts but they were human enough to rein on their beasts and keep them under control. For a shifter to attack a human without any reason was unheard of and in the majority of cases only shifters who have turned rogue would do something as cruel as that but as Levy and Jacob told them, the cougar shifter never once shifted into his beast form for him to turn rogue. So either the shifter was ruthless enough to do something of that sort or he was simply crazy. But something about this entire thing made no sense to Logan, his instincts were telling him that there was more under the surface they could see but this wasn’t his problem, though his beta was attacked that alone was simply not enough of a reason for him to go down several rabbit holes and provoke god knows how many shifter territories and what was even more troub
Levy was prepared to close her eyes and sleep but then someone knocked on the door of her room and she sat up straight on her bed, at first she thought that it was Jacob but when she pushed herself off the bed and crossed the room to open the door, she was surprised to find out that the person who was standing on the other side of the door was not Jacob but instead it was Logan, she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms as she said, “ You know I did feel my nose feeling itchy but for once I tried to think that it was not the case of bad news and all given that I was at home and everything seems to be in order as well, you just told me how wrong I can be alpha.” She paused before leaning against the doorframe and asked, “ What do you have to say now? If you are here to warn me to not get close to Derek, I have already done that but he just doesn’t seem to listen to me,” with a slight top to bottom look, she added. “ In this matter, he is quite similar to you, don’t you think so?” Loga
“ You fucking bastard!” Though Levy was a pro in handling pain, she wasn’t prepared for this move and when he suddenly skimmed the alcohol-soaked ball on her cheek, it made her jump up. “ Do you want to die, you asshole? Just say the word and I will send you off to see your maker.” Logan shook his head and clicked his tongue as he said, “ You really have learned a lot of bad words, wild cat. I still remember when you were sixteen you blushed like a tomato when you heard Jacob say ‘fuck’ for the first time, to think that Levy will one day say so many curse words at once.” She straightened her spine and then glared at him wishing she could turn him into a mutt she could hang upside down. Now, she was all about ‘animal love’ and ‘saving animals’ but some assholes like this one here totally deserved it. “ Do you not have anything to do? Why don’t you go and play with that little harridan of yours? Why are you messing with me?” “ Harridan?” He raised a brow as he turned to look at her a
Levy’s mother was a pure-blood witch, her magical blood was a lot more powerful than other witches whose blood was diluted after mating with either humans or shifters for generations and with a bunch of anti-mage and witch groups on the move the witches who weren’t magic enough could not survive leaving only a handful of pure-blooded witches alive. Levy’s mother was one of those surviving witches whose blood was pure, so even when she mated with a shifter, she was able to give birth to a daughter who was a lot stronger than other witches, that was one of the reasons why Levy’s consciousness was weak when she was asleep travelling through hoops and bounds when all she wanted to sleep peacefully. She highly doubted that other witches would be troubled by the same thing as her, with a sigh she narrowed her eyes at the woman sitting in the rocking chair, if she wasn’t wrong then she heard her say ‘Charlatan’, didn’t she? Levy didn’t know why she was being haunted by these dreams but a
Levy pushed herself off the bed half of her mind was still in that dark room, the sight of that dark, grimy thing, the sewed-up body and that woman in a mask, every single thing that she saw in the room scared her but Levy didn’t scream out loud, no she has long learned that screaming in terror did not help, in fact, it only made others realise just how terrified you were of the dark, loneliness and everything that scared you. “ Take a deep breath, you are fine everything is all right and nothing is chasing you,” she told herself, before taking a deep breath as she raised her hands and scrubbed them down her face, heaving a tired sigh as Logan knocked on her door again. “ Levy?” “ I am up,” she shouted at the closed door putting a stop to the incessant knocking as she got up from the bed and then slipped her feet into the soft, fluffy slippers before crossing the room and opening the door. Her gaze met with Logan’s as soon as she pulled open the door and she sighed before asking, “
