Lust, Not Love

Her youth lasted for two thousand years, but now her skin was wrinkly. Her face had been battered by age by all the magic she had used. It was crumpled and sagged. Her leathery skin had warts. When she looked at her young daughter, Nina, her face twitched as saliva drooled from her mouth. There was a glint in her otherwise limpid eyes. Elara wanted back the look of youth but whatever spell she tried, it just wasn’t working. The only option left was the Nyter flowers. “Sit down Nina,” she said in an ominous voice. She was performing a ritual.

There was a skull of a boar who she had sacrificed for the ritual, right in her center of the pentagon she had sketched. For the past ten years she had been working on one or the other spell to get her youthful looks back, but nothing worked. 

The two witches sat down to complete the ritual.
