The next morning, Aura was once again curled up sleeping in my lap. I didn't want to move but I needed the bathroom. "Aura, Aura wake up." I gently shook her shoulder. She opened her eyes. To my surprise, she didn't get scared when she realized my hand was on her shoulder. She looked around, stretching. She stood up letting me get up. I told her I would be back in a minute. She watched me walk out the door. I came back a few minutes later, but she was gone. Panic set in as I looked for her. I checked the closet, the floorboards, and all the spots I thought she would hide. She was not in this room. I linked my guards asking if anyone had seen her. No one had. I was getting really worried now. I started down the hall, I opened every door whether it went to a closet, bathroom, whatever, I had to find her. My heartbeat picked up every time a room was empty. Aura's POVI woke up to find my Draven curled around me. The twins were sleeping soundly in their bassinet. I snuggled deeper against my mate. I let his scent soothe my worry. I couldn't help thinking about the young she-wolf locked in the prison. What if she was being hurt or worse? I wanted to go to her, to see for myself she is being cared for but that meant returning to the hell I had lived myself. I cringed as the memories started their relentless assault on my mind. The next few days felt like a dream, Ember and Falcon ate and slept but mostly, they stole our hearts. Draven was so careful with them. He was always running about checking on them and me. I didn't know it was possible to love someone so much in such a short amount of time. We were getting ready to leave the pack hospital and return to the safe house. Only a few knew we were heading to a much more secluded place. Now that the twins were here, word of their birth had spread quickly. Aura’s POV I felt another pain coming, the doctor was sitting by my feet waiting for the first head of my pups. “Aura, push with this contraction, I will count down. Five, four, three, two, one, push!” he said as I pushed with all of my strength trying to expel my pups from my body. “Almost, I saw the top of a head, one more time, are you ready?” he asked. I didn’t bother to answer, I was so tired. I have to do this twice, I sucked in a breath as another contraction began its climb. I pushed hard this time knowing my wolf was helping as best as she could. This time, I heard a baby cry, it was the most beautiful sound I had ever heard. Tears fell from my eyes, not from the pain, but from the love I felt for this tiny little life. “Congratulations, Luna, and Alpha, you have a son!” the doctor exclaimed as he handed my son to a nurse. Draven was looking over to watch what they were doing with our son. He looked back at me, and I was surprised to see the tears trickle down his face.
