Those eyes had so much hurt in them, and that made me feel more guilty than I could have been. She must have heard everything, and jumped to conclusions concerning the same, and that shook me to the core. I had no idea what to say now that things has escalated to this extent. I only hoped things got better from here.

“Baby, what are you looking at?” Jean whined.

I glared at her, and then moved forward as quickly as I could, pushing her aside. She screamed at me to stop, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t feed into her sickness more than it was necessary. It was already costing me so much as it is, and I didn’t want it to get worse.

The figure ran as she could. I chased after her.

“Maya, please stop!” I cried after her.

The waves of her hair was my only answer. She ran like her life depended on it, but I was equally fast. I was gaining ground just as fast, and I was determined not to let her get into the warehouse till we had our talk. I couldn’t bear her misunderstanding me
