This is exactly what I had feared. We were doomed from the onset. Licking my lips slightly, I tried to turn, only for me to be shoved aside harshly by James as he pounded on the man. I turned towards the sound in shock. James had the hunter by the throat, and in one swipe, he snapped the neck like it was nothing.

“Oh, God!” One of the boys said in shock.

How was he so observant and in touch with the surroundings? It was shocking, and weird, and as I watched him pull the dead body towards the basement, I couldn’t help but worry. I had no idea why I was so pessimistic, but I think it came from the fact that Maya had betrayed me so deeply. It was now hard to trust.

“Mike, that guy is something else.” Tony said.

I nodded. “Be quiet. He might hear you,” I said stiffly.

I had no idea the level of power that James had. James was proving that he wasn’t in our league, and his power was so extensive and mind-blowing. It only made the situation dicey. Maybe, if we are able to ge
