I was furious. My blood boiled as I watched Alpha Grayson manhandle Otsana, treating her like some sort of animal. I would not stand for this. "How dare you treat her like this?" I roared. "Release her at once, I'm taking her with me. And mind you, never set foot in my pack again, I do not wish to see your ugly, and heartless face ever again!" My attention shifted to my guards, who snapped to attention, ready to do my bidding. "Prepare the cars," I commanded. "We are leaving now." As I turned to leave, I paused and narrowed my gaze at Alpha Grayson. "I know what you did," I growled. "You switched your daughter Sophia with Otsana, your step-daughter. But I will not fight it. The moon goddess has chosen Otsana for me, let's leave it that way ." Inwardly, I seethed with rage at the betrayal. But I knew that Otsana was part of the prophecy, and I would not risk losing her. If not for the prophecy, I would've dealt with Grayson, and his entire pack members "The prophecy will be fulfilled," I thought to myself. "And I will not let anyone, or anything stand in my way." "Please, Alpha Ralph," pardon me. "I do not wish for your wrath upon me, or my pack member, I only did what a father would do for his daughter, which was to protect her." I ignored Alpha Grayson's feeble attempts at justification. He had tried to deceive me, and now he would pay the price. Turning to my guards, I ordered them to take Otsana away. "Handle her gently," I commanded. "She has been through enough." I watched as they escorted her to the car, her eyes downcast and her body trembling with fear and exhaustion. "I would make sure you are safe now ", I mumbled under my breath. My pace quickened as I made my way to the waiting car. My beta followed closely behind me, his eyes darting around the area. I slid into the back seat, but immediately realized that Otsana was not there. "Where is she?" I demanded of my beta. He pointed to the vehicle behind us. "She's in the car behind us, Alpha," he replied. I turned and checked the rearview mirror, and saw Otsana sitting in the back of the other car. Nodding, I ordered the driver to move out. As we arrived at the pack, a flurry of activity greeted us. Pack members swarmed around the car, eager to catch a glimpse of me and my new breeder. The atmosphere was festive and full of energy, but there was also an undercurrent of curiosity and anticipation. Many of the pack members could not take their eyes off of Otsana, who radiated beauty and grace even in her exhaustion. She smiled kindly at the curious onlookers, her radiant smile lighting up the crowd. "It's a pleasure to meet all of you," she said, her voice gentle and musical. I smiled softly as I watched Otsana greet the pack members with grace and charm. Her smile was like a ray of sunshine, illuminating everything around her. As she turned towards me, our eyes met and locked. In that moment, the world seemed to slow down, and all I could see was the beauty and kindness in her eyes. Then, my beta Callan's voice jolted me back to the present. "Alpha, should we take her to the old or new quarters?" he asked, his voice respectful but insistent. I broke eye contact with Otsana and turned to Callan, my thoughts scattering. "The new quarters," I replied. "She deserves the best we have to offer." I made my way to my chambers, my mind still reeling from the events of the day. The halls of the Alpha's residence were richly decorated with tapestries and artwork depicting the history and legends of our pack. My quarters were spacious and well-appointed, with a large bed draped in fine linens and a seating area by the fireplace. The walls were lined with bookshelves and mounted animal heads, a reminder of our pack's hunting prowess. I sank onto the plush mattress, stretching out on my back with a sigh of relief. "Oh, what a journey," I murmured to myself. My muscles ached from the long drive, but my mind was still spinning with thoughts of Otsana and the events of the day. I felt a mix of excitement, exhaustion, and apprehension as I tried to make sense of my feelings. My lips curled into a smile at the thought of Otsana, and I let out a contented sigh. Just as I was about to drift off into sleep, a knock sounded at my door. One of my guards stood there, his expression somber. "Alpha, the pack seer has come to see you," he announced. I sat up abruptly, my heart thumping in my chest. "What is it?" I asked, a note of alarm in my voice. "Is something wrong?" I rose from my bed and followed the guard through the winding halls of the Alpha's residence, my mind racing. The seer was waiting for me in the study, her wrinkled face lit by the flickering light of candles. The room was lined with shelves of ancient tomes and filled with the smell of incense. I stepped into the room and bowed my head in deference. "Seer, you honor me with your presence," I said, my voice low and respectful. The seer's gaze bore into me, her dark eyes flashing with irritation. "Alpha Ralph," she said, her voice cold and firm. "You have much to answer for." Confusion washed over me. "Seer, I don't understand," I replied, my brow furrowing. "What have I done?" The seer's words cut through me like a knife. "You have brought home your doom," she hissed. "Treating her with kindness, as if she were not destined to be the instrument of your destruction." I shook my head, my heart racing. "The prophecy could be wrong, Otsana looks harmless," I insisted, but even as I spoke the words, doubt began to creep in. "You are a fool," the seer spat. "Otsana will be the end of you, just as the prophecy foretold. The seer's eyes narrowed, and she leaned forward, her voice dropping to a low, ominous tone. "She will come to you in the night, and you will welcome her into your bed. And when you are at your most vulnerable, she will strike, plunging a dagger into your heart." My breath caught in my throat, and I felt a chill run down my spine. "No," I whispered, shaking my head in denial. "She would never, besides she is the only one capable of giving me an heir..." The seer laughed, a harsh, mocking sound that echoed through the room. "Good luck with your doom, Alpha," she cackled. "And with your breeder." With that, she swept out of the room, leaving me alone in the flickering light. I sank into the nearest chair, my mind reeling. The prophecy, Otsana… I couldn't bear the thought of her being a threat to me, but I couldn't ignore the seer's words either. I sat there in the flickering light of the study, my mind racing as I tried to make sense of what the seer had said. And then a thought occurred to me, a dark, twisted plan that might just work. A smile curled my lips, and I began to hatch my scheme. I know exactly what to do.~OtsanaTWO YEARS LATERThe sound of laughter echoed through the large packhouse as my twin boys darted past me, their tiny legs carrying them with surprising speed. They had inherited Ralph’s boundless energy and my mischievous spirit, a combination that kept the entire house on its toes. I leaned against the doorframe, a soft smile tugging at my lips as I watched Ralph chase after them, his deep laughter filling the space.“Gotcha!” Ralph exclaimed, scooping one of the boys up in his arms while the other giggled and tried to hide behind the couch. “Daddy’s too slow!” shouted Liam, the braver of the two, sticking his tongue out before Ralph mock-growled and lunged for him, sending him into fits of laughter.Life had changed so much in these past two years. Ralph’s curse had been broken the moment he marked me as his mate. The dark cloud that had once loomed over him dissipated, leaving behind a man who was capable of love, laughter, and boundless devotion. Together, we rebuilt what
~RalphThe hospital room was too quiet, save for the faint hum of the machines monitoring Otsana. My heart felt like it was about to burst out of my chest as I paced the length of the room. We needed to leave before Noah arrived. Every second wasted was a chance for him to track us down. I turned to Otsana, her pale face pulling at something deep inside me. “Come on, Otsana,” I said gently, touching her shoulder. “We need to go now.” She blinked at me, clearly exhausted, but she nodded weakly. I helped her sit up, her body frail and unsteady. She was strong—too strong—but even she couldn’t fight against the poison wreaking havoc inside her. “Ralph, hurry up!” Jasper hissed from the doorway, his eyes darting down the hallway. “We don’t have time for this!” I ignored him, focusing on Otsana. Her breathing was shallow, and just as I was about to help her stand, her body jerked violently. “Otsana?” I froze, watching in horror as she started convulsing. Her head snapped back, her
~NoahThe trembling maid stood before me, her knees almost buckling under the weight of her guilt. She couldn’t even meet my gaze. "Who sent you to poison Otsana?" I asked again, my voice as sharp and cold as a blade. Her lips quivered. “It… it was Dara, your betrothed.” I froze. Time seemed to stop as her words sank in. Dara. That manipulative, power-hungry witch. My fists clenched so hard I thought my knuckles would crack. "Dara?" I repeated, my tone low, dangerous. "Y-Yes, my lord," the maid stammered. "She... she paid me to do it." I cursed under my breath, anger flooding my veins. My vision blurred with red for a moment, and it took every ounce of restraint not to lash out. That woman… she dared to attack Otsana, my queen-to-be? The maid’s trembling grew worse, tears streaming down her face as if she knew her confession had just sealed her fate. I turned to one of my guards and made a subtle hand gesture. "Take care of her." The maid’s eyes widened in horror. “N
~RalphThe guesthouse was quiet, eerily so, as Jasper and I crept through the shadows. The soft rustle of leaves from the open windows barely masked the pounding of my heart. Every corner we turned seemed to be occupied by Noah’s guards. Their positioning was methodical, almost suffocating, as if they anticipated our every move.Jasper nudged my arm, his expression grim. "We can’t keep skulking around here. How are we supposed to get out with all these guys loitering like statues?"I shook my head, my mind racing. "We need to find a way out without alerting them. I already called Otsana… but she’s not answering her phone." I clenched my fists, the thought of her in danger fueling my frustration."You called her again?" Jasper whispered, his tone skeptical."Three times," I replied, my voice low but laced with tension. "No answer."Jasper frowned. "You think Noah’s got her locked away? That bastard would pull something like that."I exhaled sharply, trying to keep my emotions in check.
~OtsanaI woke to a piercing light stabbing through my eyelids. Groaning, I turned my head away, the sudden brightness making my head pound. Where was I? My body felt heavy, like I’d been weighed down by sandbags. My fingers twitched as I tried to push myself upright, but a wave of dizziness forced me back onto the soft mattress beneath me. I blinked several times, my vision slowly adjusting. White walls. The sterile smell of disinfectant. Machines softly beeping in the background. A hospital. My mind scrambled to piece together how I got here. “Otsana?” The familiar voice pulled me from my haze. I turned my head and saw Jessica sitting beside me, her face pale, her eyes rimmed red as though she’d been crying. “You’re awake,” she said softly, relief flooding her features. “You scared us, you know that?” I blinked at her, trying to make sense of her words. Scared? Why would she be scared? Then, like a dam breaking, fragments of last night rushed back to me. The dinner. The fo
~RalphSitting in the SUV parked a short distance from Noah’s mansion, I adjusted my seat for the fifth time. My nerves were on edge, but I kept my face calm. Outside, the night was dark and quiet, except for the faint hum of crickets. My men were silent, their eyes fixed on the mansion as if staring hard enough would give us a way in. Jasper, sitting in the driver’s seat, broke the silence. “So, Ralph,” he began, turning his head slightly to glance at me, “congratulations on the baby.” I froze for a moment, caught off guard. My throat felt dry, but I managed a shy, “Thank you.” He chuckled softly, shaking his head. “The mighty Alpha Ralph, my little brother, speechless. Never thought I’d see the day.” I gave him a small smile, staring out the window. “I saw it in my dreams,” I admitted quietly, almost to myself. “Otsana… she’s the only woman who could give me a child. I knew it would happen. I just didn’t know when.” Jasper grinned, leaning back. “Well, the Moon Goddess cle
