Otsana

I was about to leave the meeting room when I suddenly heard shouts. The Alpha had collapsed. Everything about him was unusual, especially the way he stared at me. Could we have met before? I was sure I had never seen him in my life, yet he seemed strangely familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

I couldn’t deny that he was the most handsome man I had ever seen. His eyes seemed perfectly designed for his face, his height was godlike, and his voice was commanding. Everything about him was perfect, except he was a ruthless and notorious Alpha. The finest ones always have faults.

"Prepare the guest room for him and call the physician immediately!" Alpha Grayson commanded. The entire pack was in chaos, with everyone running around frantically. "What could have happened to the Alpha?" I thought to myself as I ran back to the meeting room to see if I could lend a helping hand.

When I arrived, Alpha Ralph was lying helplessly on the floor, surrounded by his guards who were shielding him from any potential attack. I didn't know what to do, but something drew me closer to him, as if he were calling out to me. As I bent down and reached out to touch him, one of his guards, who seemed to be his Beta, stopped me immediately.

"Don't!" he said, making me stop in my tracks. "What do you think you're doing?" he asked, his eyes wide open.

"I...I'm sorry," I stammered, before running off as if I were being pursued.

I accidentally bumped into my stepfather, who was rushing with the physician to tend to Alpha Ralph. "Watch it, you fool!" he yelled as I staggered, trying to keep from falling. Our eyes locked as he studied me.

"Why are you in such a hurry? What mischief have you been up to this time?" he demanded. I didn't know whether to reply or remain silent, knowing either option could lead to punishment. Before I could answer, he cut me off.

"Just get lost. Seeing you irritates me," he said, then hurried off with the physician following behind.

I stood there, tears of agony welling up in my eyes. "Maybe Alpha Ralph will be my saving grace from this endless torment," I thought as tears streamed down my face.

The following morning, I woke up abruptly from a vivid dream about Alpha Ralph. In the dream, I was holding his heart in my hands while he pleaded for its return. It felt as though I held the keys to his life. I woke up panting, sweat covering my body and face.

"Alpha Ralph still hadn't regained consciousness. What could have happened to him?' I heard voices outside my window. After yawning and stretching, I walked to the window to find out more.

Looking down, I saw the pack was busy with everyone attending to their duties—except me. I suddenly remembered that my stepfather had assigned me to work in the kitchen as one of the maids, before I leave with Alpha Ralph when he's well. "Oh no! Alpha Grayson will end my life," I thought in a panic.

I quickly dressed, brushed my teeth, and rushed downstairs. The zipper of my gown was stubborn, but I didn't have time to worry about it. All I could think about was getting to the kitchen as fast as possible.

As I entered the kitchen, I was suddenly drenched by a heavy splash of water. Shocked, I quickly wiped my face with my right hand, trying to discern who had done this to me so early in the morning. When I looked up, I saw my stepfather standing there. Tears welled up in my eyes, but I held them back.

"Princess Otsana," he said mockingly, prompting the other maids to laugh at me. "Do you think just because Alpha Ralph has taken a liking to you, you're exempt from your chores and duties in this pack? You must be foolish to think that."

"I'm sorry, Father," I managed to say between sobs. "It wasn't my intention to oversleep."

"The princess overslept!" he exclaimed to the other maids, provoking more laughter. It was heartbreaking, but I had no choice. My only hope lay with Alpha Ralph.

"Now get to work, you lazy peasant," he commanded as I hurried into the kitchen to tackle the mountain of dishes that awaited me.

"I need to be strong for you, Mom. I'm not going to cry," I whispered to myself, determined, as I tackled the mountain of dishes. "I'll be fine," I assured myself, though tears streamed down my face.

"Why is our princess crying?" one of the maids mocked, triggering laughter from the others. "Oh, poor Freddie! Who knows what he's up to in the woods now? Probably gone rogue," another maid sneered, glaring at me.

Freddie is my only friend in this pack. He's been imprisoned by my stepfather as punishment for standing up for me when I was brutally flogged for leaving the pack without permission.

"No, no! What did you say?" I approached her, desperate for clarification. "Go ask your stepfather. He's better suited to explain," they taunted, laughter echoing around me.

I stood there, stunned. Could it really be true? Had Father banished Freddie? The thought shattered my heart. Unable to hold back the tears any longer, I fled the kitchen, racing to confront my stepfather for answers. All I could think about was Freddie, my best friend, becoming a rogue. He didn't deserve this. I cried bitterly, wishing I had the power to change things. It felt agonizing to know there was nothing I could do.

As I walked through the hallway, a voice beckoned from one of the rooms, calling me to open the door and step inside. "No, not now. I need to find out where Freddie is," I muttered to myself, attempting to leave. But then, I heard my name being called softly, "Otsana... Otsana..."

The voice was faint and weak. I was puzzled—who could be calling me? In a pack where everyone seemed to despise me, this was unexpected.

Slowly, I approached the door. I hesitated, then cautiously pressed my ear against it, hoping to hear the voice again, thinking I might have imagined it the first time. "Please, save me," the voice pleaded once more.

Without hesitation, I pushed open the door, and what I saw inside startled me.

~OtsanaTWO YEARS LATERThe sound of laughter echoed through the large packhouse as my twin boys darted past me, their tiny legs carrying them with surprising speed. They had inherited Ralph’s boundless energy and my mischievous spirit, a combination that kept the entire house on its toes. I leaned against the doorframe, a soft smile tugging at my lips as I watched Ralph chase after them, his deep laughter filling the space.“Gotcha!” Ralph exclaimed, scooping one of the boys up in his arms while the other giggled and tried to hide behind the couch. “Daddy’s too slow!” shouted Liam, the braver of the two, sticking his tongue out before Ralph mock-growled and lunged for him, sending him into fits of laughter.Life had changed so much in these past two years. Ralph’s curse had been broken the moment he marked me as his mate. The dark cloud that had once loomed over him dissipated, leaving behind a man who was capable of love, laughter, and boundless devotion. Together, we rebuilt what

~RalphThe hospital room was too quiet, save for the faint hum of the machines monitoring Otsana. My heart felt like it was about to burst out of my chest as I paced the length of the room. We needed to leave before Noah arrived. Every second wasted was a chance for him to track us down. I turned to Otsana, her pale face pulling at something deep inside me. “Come on, Otsana,” I said gently, touching her shoulder. “We need to go now.” She blinked at me, clearly exhausted, but she nodded weakly. I helped her sit up, her body frail and unsteady. She was strong—too strong—but even she couldn’t fight against the poison wreaking havoc inside her. “Ralph, hurry up!” Jasper hissed from the doorway, his eyes darting down the hallway. “We don’t have time for this!” I ignored him, focusing on Otsana. Her breathing was shallow, and just as I was about to help her stand, her body jerked violently. “Otsana?” I froze, watching in horror as she started convulsing. Her head snapped back, her

~NoahThe trembling maid stood before me, her knees almost buckling under the weight of her guilt. She couldn’t even meet my gaze. "Who sent you to poison Otsana?" I asked again, my voice as sharp and cold as a blade. Her lips quivered. “It… it was Dara, your betrothed.” I froze. Time seemed to stop as her words sank in. Dara. That manipulative, power-hungry witch. My fists clenched so hard I thought my knuckles would crack. "Dara?" I repeated, my tone low, dangerous. "Y-Yes, my lord," the maid stammered. "She... she paid me to do it." I cursed under my breath, anger flooding my veins. My vision blurred with red for a moment, and it took every ounce of restraint not to lash out. That woman… she dared to attack Otsana, my queen-to-be? The maid’s trembling grew worse, tears streaming down her face as if she knew her confession had just sealed her fate. I turned to one of my guards and made a subtle hand gesture. "Take care of her." The maid’s eyes widened in horror. “N

~RalphThe guesthouse was quiet, eerily so, as Jasper and I crept through the shadows. The soft rustle of leaves from the open windows barely masked the pounding of my heart. Every corner we turned seemed to be occupied by Noah’s guards. Their positioning was methodical, almost suffocating, as if they anticipated our every move.Jasper nudged my arm, his expression grim. "We can’t keep skulking around here. How are we supposed to get out with all these guys loitering like statues?"I shook my head, my mind racing. "We need to find a way out without alerting them. I already called Otsana… but she’s not answering her phone." I clenched my fists, the thought of her in danger fueling my frustration."You called her again?" Jasper whispered, his tone skeptical."Three times," I replied, my voice low but laced with tension. "No answer."Jasper frowned. "You think Noah’s got her locked away? That bastard would pull something like that."I exhaled sharply, trying to keep my emotions in check.

~OtsanaI woke to a piercing light stabbing through my eyelids. Groaning, I turned my head away, the sudden brightness making my head pound. Where was I? My body felt heavy, like I’d been weighed down by sandbags. My fingers twitched as I tried to push myself upright, but a wave of dizziness forced me back onto the soft mattress beneath me. I blinked several times, my vision slowly adjusting. White walls. The sterile smell of disinfectant. Machines softly beeping in the background. A hospital. My mind scrambled to piece together how I got here. “Otsana?” The familiar voice pulled me from my haze. I turned my head and saw Jessica sitting beside me, her face pale, her eyes rimmed red as though she’d been crying. “You’re awake,” she said softly, relief flooding her features. “You scared us, you know that?” I blinked at her, trying to make sense of her words. Scared? Why would she be scared? Then, like a dam breaking, fragments of last night rushed back to me. The dinner. The fo

~RalphSitting in the SUV parked a short distance from Noah’s mansion, I adjusted my seat for the fifth time. My nerves were on edge, but I kept my face calm. Outside, the night was dark and quiet, except for the faint hum of crickets. My men were silent, their eyes fixed on the mansion as if staring hard enough would give us a way in. Jasper, sitting in the driver’s seat, broke the silence. “So, Ralph,” he began, turning his head slightly to glance at me, “congratulations on the baby.” I froze for a moment, caught off guard. My throat felt dry, but I managed a shy, “Thank you.” He chuckled softly, shaking his head. “The mighty Alpha Ralph, my little brother, speechless. Never thought I’d see the day.” I gave him a small smile, staring out the window. “I saw it in my dreams,” I admitted quietly, almost to myself. “Otsana… she’s the only woman who could give me a child. I knew it would happen. I just didn’t know when.” Jasper grinned, leaning back. “Well, the Moon Goddess cle
