An Alpha's Mistake

"Oh, my God! Can you do your job properly, huh!" said Mia loudly to an omega.

"What did I do wrong, Ma'am? I did what you told me to do." replied the omega quietly as she looked down in fear.

The woman was preparing to attend the council meeting tonight. Dave would announce that Mia was his new Luna, and at the same that Cora was no longer part of the Blood Moon Pack.

But Mia had scolded several omegas for doing things against her will. One of them was an omega who was in charge of her makeup. Instead of being satisfied, Mia was angry.

"What are you doing? Look at you, making me look like an old lady!" she shouted.

"I'm sorry, Ma'am, but I'm doing what I usually do to dress up Luna Cora," the omega said again.

Mia slapped the omega. Then she startled the other two omegas who were also in her room. She was so upset to hear Cora's name mentioned.

"Come here, you three!" snapped Mia with an angry look in her eyes.

Since the rumor that she would replace Cora as Luna, Mia had changed so much from what they knew. Even now, the woman dared to act arbitrarily toward the omegas.

"Ex-excuse us, Mia!" said one of the omegas, who had been in charge of choosing Mia's clothes.

"What, how dare you call me by my name! I'm not an omega like you anymore. Call me Ma'am!"

"Why are you like this? Weren't we friends before? Why do you change just because you become Luna?" The omega said to her.

"Shut up! Don't ever say we were friends. Now I'm your queen. If you don't want to obey my orders, I will ask Dave to expel you!" Mia said.

Then the three of them looked down, disappointed by Mia's attitude, even though Mia was their new Luna candidate. Suddenly Dave's voice called out to them as he knocked on the door.

"Honey, can I come in?" Dave asked.

Mia cleared her throat and immediately changed the intonation of her voice to a soft one, "Come in Dave!" she said.

"Not ready yet?" asked Dave, his eyes falling on the three omegas looking down.

Mia, who was afraid that Dave would notice the frightened look on the omegas' faces, was immediately friendly to them.

"It's done, Babe. I'm pleased with your work!" praised Mia while pretending to smile.

"That's good then because I think the makeup is just right," Dave said.

Mia still held a grudge against the three omegas, but of course, she had to be cute to Dave to be considered worthy of being a Luna.

"You must be tired and hungry from all the tasks you did for me, right?" Mia suddenly asked the three Omegas with a sharp look.

They stammered, "Y-y-yes, Ma'am!"

"Oh, you guys, just call me Mia. We were friends before." Mia said with a smile.

They were surprised at the change in Mia. They thought she was trying to make faces at Dave.

"I didn't make a bad choice. You treat the omegas more gently than Cora," said Dave, then he kissed her.

Mia felt big-headed at this remark.

"Of course, Dear, because I've been in their position," Mia explained again.

The three Omegas in her room were tired of hearing Mia's lies. Besides, they still feel the pain from Mia's harsh treatment earlier.

"Okay, then you can go. Thank you!" said Mia pretending to be sweet.

The three obeyed Mia's words. When they were out of the room, they talked about it.

"I didn't expect Mia to be such a hypocrite," said one of the omegas.

"Yes, she even dared to torture us and treat us arbitrarily, even though Luna Cora is very kind and polite to us, the omegas," said another Omega.

In short, the expected night comes. The officials of the Blood Moon Pack began to arrive one by one. A few hours earlier, Mia had secretly called a professional make up from a famous salon in her city without Dave's unknown. She was not satisfied with the Omegas's make up results.

Even though Dave said that he thought Mia's look was good enough. Mia still didn't like the result. She didn't want Dave to know that she had called another make up artist to avoid damaging her image.

The officials of the Blood Moon Pack were surprised at first. Why had Dave called an impromptu council meeting? Just a week ago, they had an evaluation of the state of their pack. Now they were being called to a meeting with no notice.

They were even more surprised when they saw the meeting invitation Dave gave them. It's written as Dave and Mia.

"Mia? Who is she? I thought our Luna's name was Cora, or is that Dave's love nickname for his Luna? Ah, that doesn't make sense," said a confused Beta. He was walking in the corridor of Dave's house that led to the main room, where the meeting will do.

"I don't know! Let's ask Alpha Dave directly later. It's been a long time since Luna Cora handled Dave's duties. He has rarely been to the House Pack and interacted with us," a Delta said.

"Yeah, it's like he's been keeping secrets lately." Another Beta said.

Everyone was present. The meeting began immediately.

The council meeting was attended by, Betha, Gamma, Delta, Ceta, Elder, Seer, and Watcher. Then Dave arrived with Mia in his arms.

The councils in the meeting room were surprised. One Beta stood up immediately.

"Alpha Dave, what do you mean by bringing an omega into this room, and why is she dressed up and acting like your partner? Where is Luna Cora?" a Beta asked.

"Can you be quiet and polite, Beta Daniel? In this Council meeting. You are not to make a sound until I tell you to!" Dave said as he raised his chin, indicating he had the right to lead the conversation.

The other officers also calmed Beta Daniel down. They told him to sit back and listen to Alpha Dave's explanation.

"I invited you here tonight because there is an important thing for our pack. I have an important announcement," said Dave, and then he had a look at Mia, "This is Mia, our new Luna. I have rejected Cora and banished her. She is no longer the Luna of our pack."

After Dave made that announcement, Daniel, the Beta of the Blood Moon Pack and Dave's close friend, immediately protested. He didn't expect what he had just heard.

"What, seriously? You rejected Cora and expelled her too! You're crazy! Cora is the best Luna we could have. She's taken care of our pack wonderfully," Beta Daniel said, shaking his head in disbelief at Dave.

"I've made my decision Beta Daniel," Dave replied.

"Alpha Dave!" Beta Daniel interrupted again, "You think our territory can be so big to who? Luna Cora organized alliances with other packs."

"Exactly!" said a Delta who now joined in. "Thanks to Luna Cora, the children in our pack can get a good education and scholarships. She has been fighting for that all along. Have you forgotten, Dave?" he said.

"He hasn't forgotten. He doesn't care. How can an Alpha stay home and leave the duties and responsibilities of the pack to his Luna?" Beta Daniel joked again.

Dave got angry. He pointed at Beta Daniel and gave him a sharp look, "Shut up, Beta Daniel! You should be in support of me as a Beta and also as my best friend."

Beta Daniel returned Alpha Dave's glare. He was about to answer, but an Elder stopped him.

"Alpha Dave, the Councils of the Blood Moon Pack are surprised to hear your statement. Your actions were too rash and didn't consider Cora's contribution to our pack. Moreover, we truly regret your decision to reject and expel Cora without informing us." The Elder spoke at length.

"That's right, Elder! Alpha Dave, you even chose a lowly omega who knows nothing about leadership and being a Luna?" said a Gamma.

Dave looked angry, "Shut up! I haven't let you have your say yet!" he snapped, "I don't need Cora. She can't give me an heir for this pack, and all of you should get used to respecting Mia as the new Luna from now on. She is also carrying my child, the future Alpha of this pack!" he continued firmly.

They were even more surprised to learn that Mia was pregnant with Dave's child, the future Alpha title in their pack.

"But you should have thought of a smarter solution, Alpha Dave! We still need Luna Cora," Beta Daniel said with a sigh, "you shouldn't have rejected Luna Cora. You could have just made Mia a concubine." He continued.

Dave defended himself and Mia. "I don't need your advice! How can I make a woman pregnant with my heir be a concubine? Of course, she has to be a queen."

Dave's confession made Mia even more confident.

"Well, it looks useless for us to be here. You made your decision without involving us." Beta Daniel explained to Dave.

Dave didn't answer again. He asked them all to leave. After all, he thought the councils were invited to hear the announcement, not to deliberate.

There was disappointment on the faces of the council for the selfish attitude of their Alpha. The Alpha should have been wiser and put the deliberation first.

The next day, Dave took Mia to the house pack. Dave met with the administrators at the house pack. They discussed important matters regarding the construction of their house pack. Dave had plans for the renovation of some parts of the building.

"Alpha Dave, our pack is short of funds, and some investors have resigned. Even some donors have resigned, and Luna Cora suggested that we allocate funds to important things first." Said one of the administrators who was in charge of the facilities and infrastructure of the House Pack.

"Huh! What does Cora know? What does she think is important?" asked Dave, annoyed.

"Luna Cora allocated funds for capital to develop the herbal medicine business, whose sales are currently increasing. She also bought new plant seeds for the plantation," he explained again.

"Obey me, not Cora!" Dave ordered. The administrator just nodded because she didn't dare to resist.

Meanwhile, Mia suddenly called out to one of the Omegas passing in front of her, waiting for Dave alone in the room. On the other hand, Beta Daniel walks around the house pack.

Daniel, the Beta, looked at Mia with a cynical look. He was still upset about Alpha Dave's decision, but what else could he do? He couldn't refuse the absolute decision of an Alpha. The news of Mia as the new Luna had spread quickly throughout the territory of the Blood Moon Pack since last night.

"Get me the most delicious, luxurious food or snacks and the freshest drinks quickly!" snapped Mia as she ordered the Omega she had summoned.

"But, Ma'am! Our pack's downsizing. Beta Daniel has set up a menu to serve all house-pack members and guests who come. There is no fancy food here," the Omega explained.

"Tell him this is an order from the future Luna and that I am pregnant with your Alpha's successor. Of course, I need special treatment. Otherwise, I will report you to Alpha Dave!" Mia said again. The Omega looked down in fear as she quickly walked away to prepare Mia's request.

Beta Daniel, who saw and heard their conversation from a distance, Beta Daniel felt very angry. He holds it in for now. He wanted to gather a lot of evidence that Mia was not someone who deserved to replace Luna Cora.

Daniel muttered, "This pack would be destroyed if it had a Luna who behaved like that. He sighed and imagined the future of his pack, "I don't think she'll even be able to talk to the business people of the pack. Her attitude is a far cry from the intelligent Luna Cora. She has good manners even with Omegas." He continued.

In short, Mia was not welcome in the Blood Moon pack.
