“Are the rumours true?”

Eloive turned around to find Waxlyn sitting on his bed. Too engrossed in his thoughts, he hadn’t even heard her come in.

“Didn’t know you listened to rumours”, he remarked, popping a grape into his mouth.

“Everyone’s talking about it. The maids, the concubines even your stepmothers but I want to hear it from you. Are you getting married?”

Eloive sighed. “I’m not getting married Waxlyn”.

“But grandpa said…”

“Fuck what grandpa said!”, Eloive yelled, dropping a wad of cash into the swear jar that Waxlyn held out for him. “I’m no getting married”.

“Why not? I don’t see anything wrong with it. Plus, we haven’t had a wedding in the palace for years now”.

“You’re insane. Waxlyn I’m not ripe for marriage. If you want a wedding so badly, then get yourself a husband. You know what? Just leave. You’ve upset me”.

“You’re so mean”.

“You haven’t seen anything yet. Leave my room now Waxlyn. The next time you want to enter, you better knock”.

Waxlyn glared hard at him before l

I let him get away with it. Secondly, he poured blood into the bathtub where I was to have my bath this afternoon. Now, he has destroyed Sia’s bed, drenching the feathers from the pillows with blood. The fuck I’m going to let him go scot free.“Mila?”“Yes, my lady”.“Get me my coat”.She helps me put it on. “Are you going out my lady?”“Yes Mila”.“Should I accompany you my lady?”“No Mila”.After the laces of my boot have been tied, I tuck in my knife.“Are the princes still having dinner Mila?”“They should be true with it my lady”.Good. “Toreh? What on earth are you doing here?”She wipes her face clean.“I should ask you the same Crinka. What are you doing here?”“I asked you first”.“And I asked you second”.“Still the same, I see. Look…look at how big you are. You do grow up fast”.She snorted. “You’ve got to leave before someone realizes you’re here. The lycans don’t take well to having wolves on their lands,”“Tell me something I don’t already know”, I mumbled, sitting down in the dirt beside her.“I broke the prince’s heart”.My eyes widen. “What? Which prince?”“The Crown Prince’s son, Eloive”.“Wait, hold on, how do you know Eloive?”“I snuck into his room some time ago. We’ve been friends ever since. There were times we kissed”.Kissed what? “You..you kissed Eloive?”“He kissed me”.This is shocking. “He kissed you? Aren’t you too young to be swapping spit with the prince?”“I’m fifteen, so no”.She’s what? “You’re fifteen? You looked ten when I last saw you”.“That’s because I was a late bloomer”.“Right. So

The palace was sort of empty, so it was easier for Toreh to slip inside quietly. Unaware that she was being watched, she walked stealthily past the pillars, heading for the dining room.“Is she the one?”, Kayne whispered as he shove his hands into his pockets.Eloive looked up, eyes widening as he recognized the bracelet he had given her. What was Toreh doing here?“Yes. She’s going to get herself killed uncle. If anyone sees her, they’d put a knife to her throat”.“She kind of deserves it”, Kayne said, eyes fixed on the human girl.Eloive looked to his uncle, flabbergasted. “What? You know she does. First, she broke your heart…”Eloive butt in. “She didn’t break my heart…”, he started to say but shut up when Kayne glared at him.“Then, she comes into our home without permission on the day of the hunt”.“That’s just how she is! That’s her personality uncle”.“Then she should be able to deal with the repercussions”.Eloive wasn’t listening, his eyes fixed on Toreh. She stood before the

The council members, Rifera and Luwid to be exact and some of the princes would chase some scrawny men up until the slave market killing them off and Hanos was fed up. He waned something different this year and felt only him could bring about the change. With that in mind, he shot up from his chair and tore off his cloak. The action didn’t go unnoticed by Sia.“Uncle, what are you doing?”“What do you think?”, Hanos asked as he grabbed his sword. “I’m going hunting”.Thjis shot up from his seat. “You would do no such thing”.“I only agreed not to interfere if the hunt was to my taste. It’s not”.“We already have enough vampires in on the hunt Hanos. We don’t need another”, Thjis countered.“Rifera and Luwid are not good hunters Thjis. Only I can..”, he paused, then sniffed the air. There it was. That sweet scent he had perceived in the hallway. Replacing his sword with a dagger, he pu

It was a quarter to midnight by the time Eloive sneaked into the infirmary. Quietly, he made his way to the room where Toreh was being held, hood up. The door was locked but he had the keys and unlocked it quickly before slipping inside. The room was small and Eloive was shocked to see her awake. She was checking out hr bandaged wounds in the mirror. She wasn’t naked, but the blue wrapper she tied around herself didn’t cover much. Swallowing hard, he dragged his gaze upwards.“How are you?”She turned around, holding the wrapper closely to her chest. Her hair was up in a bun, a few strands, escaping the hair band. She was black, beautiful and his. The choker, however said otherwise.“What are you doing here?”“That’s not the answer to my question Toreh”.“Well, that’s the answer I have to offer. What are you doing here Eloive?”, she asked coldly.“What’s with the attitude Toreh? I saved your life. You’re supposed to be nice to me”.“I didn’t ask you to save me Eloive. How do you expec

It was that of a young lad whose left ear was missing.“Three hundred and forty one”, Thane repeated with a sigh. “If we don’t stop him, it might just reach five hundred”.“Well, what would you have me do? Wilhelm is not picking my calls and Avetha has refused to help us. Don’t forget we still have Cocci to treat”, Sia said, annoyed. He was damn tired.“Tell me something I don’t already know”, Thane said sadly. “What’s Massa doing anyways?”“Practising magic. Somehow, uncle is immune to our brother’s numerous spells”, Eoff replied.“He’s on a rampage. It’s expected”, Zikur chirped in “What are we to do with the tourists outside?”“We? There’s no way in this”, Dolan said.“Look, if there’s one person that can help right now, it’s Zikur. So Dolan, back off”, Sia said.“Okay. First, we need to get rid of uncle. Toreh was bored. There was absolutely nothing for her to do in the room other than sit still and sitting still was nothing she was used to. Her wounds were healing nicely so why won’t they let her go? She decided then that she wouldn’t stay here. She would pick the lock. Yes, that’s what she would do.Leaping from the bed, she searched the drawers for something sharp. She did find a crocheting pin. That should do it.Kneeling before the door, she slit the crochet pin into the keyhole and began picking the lock. The door burst open then and Toreh was thrown backwards, the nightdress she had changed into, rising above her knees. She looked up and was surprised to see the Crown Prince. Quickly, she rose, curtsying. “Your royal highness”.“You were planning to escape, were you not?”“What do you expect your highness? This room is a bore. All I do is sit around all day”, Toreh replied glumly.“I apologize for the lack of hospitality but you cannot leave until you have spoken with the king”

Lunch went on undisturbed but it seemed that wasn’t enough for the Fae Queen. She leaned forward in her chair, eyes fixed on the slave.“You heard the allegation the princess made against you, didn’t you slave?”Toreh looked up from her meal. “I did”.“Do you consider them to be false?”Toreh swallowed. She thought the matter had died down. Why was she bringing these up now? Toreh remained silent. This made Avetha angry.“I asked you a question slave”.“And I refused to answer”, Toreh shot back, earning gasps from the twins. None of the princes dared talk back at the Fae Queen and yet a slave has done it, without fear. “See, I don’t know who you are or what you think you are but if you can’t address me by my name like every other sane being does, then I am under no obligation to answer you”.Avetha gasped. “How dare you call me insane you wretched thing? All I had to do was drive a stake through her heart and it would be all over. Father wouldn’t have to make the trip. The burden on our heads would be gone, and things would go back to being normal. The only disadvantage of her death, would be mine, and that of our son. Our son. I don’t want him to die, but he has to. I had to choose, and I chose her. But what does it matter now? I have been asked to kill her, and it would be treason on my path if I let her live. My weapon was sharpened, and all I had to do was kill her and be done with it. A slit at her throat or a stab to her heart. She wouldn’t see it coming, my blade, not when she’s fast asleep at the sweetheart garden, the moon casting a soft glow over her peaceful face. It’s funny that she can sleep so peacefully after the stunt she pulled. I envied her for a moment, envied her ability to sleep despite the shit that was happening around her. I jumped down from the horse, landing on my feet swiftly. Whipping out my blade, I

Now, enjoy the synopsis, and a little insight.Synopsis:Chaos.It has always been around, shimmering within the surface, waiting for someone or something to break the surface and set it free. And I just happened to be the perfect someone.I never meant to do it; it just sort of happened. Somehow, I had managed to set Sycamore free from the mental cage Sia had sentenced him to.And now, Ruarc’s surrender to his Lycan was also my fault. Honestly, taking the blame wasn’t going to change the fact that I have broken the surface.Chaos is here and I’m afraid it has come to stay.*****"I want her dead."These four words, spoken with chilling determination, sliced through the frigid air of the Icelands like a sharp blade. The speaker, Thjis, whose eyes were once filled with compassion, now harbored an unrelenting verdict that sent shiv

“Do you want me to beat him for you?” A chuckle escapes my lips as I walk further down, toward the balcony. The wind hit me with full force and I held onto the railing to keep myself from falling. I could see the streets from up here and I was amazed at the snow-blanketed roofs and the Christmas lights that connected the residential houses. People walked in groups, chatting and laughing, unbothered by the snow that fell from the skies. It reminded me of Bluestone. Not the snow, but the unity among people. I sigh as Lukas’ letter comes to mind. I need to go back, but how? Thjis wouldn’t let me go easily, nor will Dogara, especially now I’m pregnant with her grandchild. Ugh! Everything is so messed up. Things can never go back to normal, so I am just going to make the most out of it. “No, I don’t need you to beat him for me Mujin.” “You sure? ‘Cause it seemed like you wanted to bury your fist in his face.” “Yeah, I want to but…” “But nothing. “My lady, please forgive me.”I took another selfie, (the shit is amazing), uninterested in Mila’s apology. She had been apologizing since morning. Well it’s still morning, but I haven't answered her. Why can’t she take the hint and just let me be?The other concubines had left for the cathedral and now it just remained the servants, my entourage and I. I was a bit surprised that ‘Lady Igrith’ didn’t ask her guards to bound me up and drag me to the cathedral. But then again, I suppose she doesn’t want to get on Ruarc’s bad side.Speaking of entourage, where the fuck is Mujin?I have a lot of questions to ask him, but I haven’t seen him since. Mila might know where he’s hiding since she served him breakfast, but I didn’t want to talk to her. Talking to her means I have forgiven her, and I didn’t want to think I have. Sighing, I face my handmaiden and friend, calling her out, “Mila?”“Yes, my lady?”“Apologize one more time, and I’ll rip out your tongue, regardless of our shaky friendsh

A bead of sweat rolled down her back, and Dogara was surprised at the new feeling. She hadn’t broken a sweat in a thousand years, and it took climbing up a mountain top to do so. Heaving a sigh, she stared at the blanket laid out on the top, taking in the picnic basket. She hadn’t seen one in a thousand years. She definitely needed to start leaving the Icelands more.A gust of wind blew, knocking her off her feet. She would have fallen off, if Zikur didn’t catch her when he did. His strong arms wrapped around her waist, and Dogara tingled from where he touched her. This was madness. She wasn’t supposed to be feeling this way, but she couldn’t help but wish he wouldn’t let go. She realized then, that she liked it when he touched her.Shaking her head to get rid of the thought, she stepped out of his arms, and faced him.“Why did you bring me here?”“I thought we could enjoy the view together. I mean, haven’t you ever wondered what your lands would look like from a mountain top?”She ha

“Zora, how many hours left to breakfast?”The young maid paused and glanced at the clock. “Two, my princess.”“Do you think that’s enough to know about someone?”, Waxlyn asked.“Depends on the person, my princess.”“It’s Gales.”“Oh. Why would you want to know more about a farmhand’s son my princess?”Waxlyn eyed her. “Is questioning your princess what you’re being paid for?”Zora shook her head, eyes glued to the floor. “No my princess. Sorry, my princess.”Waxlyn rolled her eyes. “I’ll try on the dress later. There’s somewhere I have to go first.”She dashed out of the room and rushed up to the attic, ignoring the servants’ look as she passed them. The chair he frequently warmed was empty so she decided to check if he was in the library. A zap of electricity shot up her arm once she touched the door knob.hissing, she retreated, massaging her affected arm.“You royals never learn, do you?”She turned around as he appeared form the shadows. The tequila only made her miserable.Setting aside the empty glass cup, she walked over to the fridge and opened it, shocked to find it empty. She checked the freezer and was surprised to find it empty as well. What the actual fuck? She stormed into his room unannounced and Massa looked up from the magazine he was reading.“What happened to all the blood?”Massa feigned ignorance as he sat up. “What blood?”She glared at him. “Don’t be stupid Massa. You know exactly what I’m talking about.”“No, I don’t.”“The fuck Massa! I’m goddamned hungry and there’s no single bag of blood in the kitchen! I don't know what happened to the blood, which means you should know.”“Honestly, I don’t.”She groaned. “Massa!”He rolled his eyes and returned his attention to the magazine. “You know, there are other ways to expel the hunger.”She glared at him. “If you

The sun was not yet up in the sky by the time Mila woke me up from sleep. Yawning loudly, I glared at her as I sat up in bed.“Good gracious, Mila. Why have you woken me up this early? Classes with the princess begins after she has had breakfast and that is by 9am!”“I’m very sorry my lady. I just wanted you to use the bathhouse first.”“Use the bathhouse first? What do you mean? Is there only one bathhouse in this palace?”“Yes, my lady, which is why I want you to use it first. The other concubines have their bath by five a.m. and seeing that you’re not yet comfortable in their midst, I woke you up by four, so that you can get clean before them.”“And why can’t I do it later? Why now, when he was tired?Sighing, he answered and put the phone to his ear.“Leira, what is it now? I told you to never call me at night.”“I was really worried about you. Willy, don’t you think it’s time you came home?”Wilhelm didn’t consider that gigantic palace as his home, but he wasn’t ready to tell Leira that. “My name is Wilhelm, not Willy. Besides, I did tell you that I would only return after my position as the Crown Prince has been secured. So, if you’re calling to say this, end this call at once.”She sniffed. “Your cruel words affect me. Surely you mustn't plan on leaving me here all alone.”He bristled. “You’re not alone.
