CHAPTER 80: As Long As You're Honest

“Where am I? Why am I seeing you? Am I d---dead?” I opened my eyes slowly adjusting to the light. Everything inside my body was hurting as if someone kept on hitting me without stopping.

“No… you’re not, it’s just that… I'm alive…” Arthur spoke dryly, it was clear he still hated me but I couldn’t process the fact that he was alive. “Shocked? Your plan didn’t work?”

I peered down in embarrassment since it was me who brought him pain, “I'm sorry… I didn’t know he’d think of killing you, I just wanted to turn him against you” I started fidgeting and he sat beside me.

“You really feel something for him? or is it just revenge and you are playing with his heart?” he asked in a low voice. “If it’s the latter one, just be aware that I’ll come for your soul” his voice was still low but I could sense the determination hidden behind his words.

“I don’t care what you are, just as long as you are sincere…” he stood up placing his hands in the pocket casually strolling outside. I wasn’
