I stared at myself in the mirror, my fingers tracing the dark circles under my eyes, the tangled mess of my hair, and the pale complexion of my skin. I looked like a mad woman, a shadow of my former self. I placed a hand on my stomach, feeling the emptiness within, and then I let out sorrow
