Chapter 3

Alpha Narcisse's POV:

“My room is next door and can be accessed through here. You are welcome anytime." As soon as those words left my mouth, I wanted to slap myself across the face.

Ever since I laid my eyes on this female at her rejection, there has been this inexplicable urge to draw close to her. Saving her from that pack remains my best decision yet. But keeping her safe was my next target.

If she thought her pack was scary, they would eat her alive and spit her out in no time here. Exactly how I trained them to be. We did not get our title by sitting around campfires.

And there was only one person that I could trust with this special assignment. 

Natalie, my second in command after Manuel.

She was perfect for the job. I'll do that tomorrow or so, I need to ensure that she has settled into her new home properly.

Just as I closed her room door behind me I saw Natalie walking towards my room. I guess I was doing it right now.

“Alpha Narcisse, welcome home. Was your trip successful?" I grunted in response. I don't know why she bothers to try to have conversations with me. I kept walking away from the rooms because I was not about to disrespect the little wolf by bringing another female in there. The amount of possessiveness I was feeling towards her was one that I have never felt before.

“I brought a wolf home with me and I want her to be under your care. She is not like us and I want her to be shaped according to our ways.” I said to Natalie as I stopped at the end of the corridor. I was not comfortable with the distance between us.

" Of course Alpha, it would be my honor. When do I get to meet the wolf?” Natalie said to me with a small smile that I didn't return, waste of time is what that is.

" When I want you to. You're dismissed.” I said to Natalie and returned to my room where I paced the length, wondering how I was going to tell my new wolf the arrangements. I didn't even ask for her name. 

I walked to her door and knocked on the door. She opened a small crack and gave me a confused look.

" Name, what is your name?” I said to her,

" It's Roberta Blackwood, Alpha Narcisse." She said to me and I gave her a curt nod before leaving her to go to my room.

Dinner was a quiet affair on my part but Manuel and that girl who insisted that she must tag along were talking enough for eight people. They occasionally roped Roberta into their banter but she somehow always came out of it.

I walked her to her room and waited till she locked the door from behind her before I went to my room.

Finally, I was standing with Roberta behind me as I spoke to Natalie. The past few weeks here have been a time of her exploring the pack right by my side. Every pack member was warned by me to stay away from her or at the very least treat her with the amount of respect that they treat me with.

I got her to call me Vincenzo, which made Manuel choke. That was hilarious.

“Natalie, this is the person I told you about. Roberta, meet Natalie, she is my trusted friend and my assistant, she will be in charge of your well-being if for any reason I am not around you. Also, your training starts immediately.” I said to Roberta who looked star struck by Natalie's beauty.

" Oh! She is so precious, Alpha. She's an omega right? As long as you are determined I can whip you into shape in no time.” Natalie said to Roberta who was a blushing mess. For some reason she was still hiding in my shadow, it both infuriated and calmed me. I trust Natalie to do what is right for her.

" Thank you, you look beautiful.” Roberta said to Natalie who smiled at her.

“My, thank you. I promise to take care of you." Natalie said to her.

I looked behind me to see that one of the warriors I asked to see me was waiting for me, I decided to go and give him the instructions that I called him for. The girls needed more time to bond.

When I returned, Roberta looked guarded and her smile was tight. I looked between the both of them without saying anything and left with Roberta.

“Did something happen?" I asked Roberta who looked at me.

“No Alpha, I just remembered something unpleasant after you left." Roberta said to me. Was it too early to point out that she is a horrible liar? Well, I trust Natalie to take good care of her.

We sat across from each other in my study and our eyes locked as they have been locking recently. Every part of my body was calling to her and she was responding. 

Maybe it was the omega responding to her Alpha, but I liked the smell of her pheromones that filled the room. Finally having had enough, I got out of my seat and rounded the table to where she sat and I took her lips with mine.

The tingles that spread through my body was all the confirmation I needed to know that she was mine and I was going to keep it that way.

“I think I should leave." Roberta's timid voice reached my ears.

She was breathing hard when I put some space between us. The way she stared up at me pulled at my loins, I was perfectly fine with this place but she didn't look like it. 

With a sigh, I set her back on her feet and took her back to her room before I would give in to the look she was currently wearing and bonded us completely.

Just as she closed the door behind her I saw Natalie standing with clenched fists.
