CHAPTER 11
VINCENZO’S POV I yawned and stretched as I sat up on my bed. The sharp invasion of daylight meant I had to blink to get my coordinates right. Once I came to, I looked around my room with a slight frown and a line of sweat on my forehead. My left breast hung heavily outside my nightgown and my hair bonnet was beside my feet. Crazy night. As soon as I stood up from the bed, I came face to face with a bouquet of fresh cut flowers. They looked and smelled so wonderful. I smiled widely, thinking to myself that it was a very beautiful thing for Roberta to wake up to. I could hear her just waking up too. I immediately got up and found the card that came with the flowers. I took my pen from my bedside table “Good morning, Sunshine Vincenzo” That's what I wrote on it. I sighed as my smile dropped slightly.CHAPTER 12Vincenzo's POV My relationship with Roberta was going very well. She fully trusted my love for her, and it was the most beautiful feeling in the world. We had spent the remainder of the previous night kissing on every pathway, in every corridor, every hall, every room. She had said she wanted to take it slow and I respected her decision, even though her body was telling me entirely different things.Even as we sat at the dining table to eat and her seat was right beside mine, my hand gently gripping her thigh as I watched her eat, I could feel the moist warmth exuding from her centre and it made me want to take her on the table.I was so focused on her that I didn't notice Manuel's absence from the breakfast table. That was until he walked into the dining room and stood at the head of the table.“Oh, Manuel. Where were you?” I asked as soon as I lifted my head
CHAPTER 13Roberta's POV I stirred from my sleep to see that the room around me was dark. I couldn't believe I slept from the morning until late in the evening. I sat up on the bed and immediately noticed that my foot was done healing. I stood up and looked around for Vincenzo, but I couldn't find him in the room.I saw a lamp lit in the garden and I immediately knew that he was out there. The cold in the air caught up to me and I shivered, wanting to be engulfed in his bulky build.I took the blanket off the bed and wrapped it around myself, heading outside to the garden. As soon as he saw me walking towards him, a smile spread across his face.“You're finally awake”, he said.He stood on a little bridge in the garden that stood over a small, magical stream. When I reached him, he grabbed my waist and pulled me towards himself, pressing my body into his and pro
CHAPTER 14Vincenzo’s POVI stared at Roberta’s face, stroking her forehead that was folded. After the events at the garden ten days prior, we had been at it in every corner of the house.I could not keep my hands off her, and even if she was still a bit too shy to admit, she could not keep her hands off me either. She cooed like a baby and left her mouth hanging open, causing a warm smile to cut across my face.I felt a flutter in my chest, the same one I hadn’t stopped feeling since our lips first touched. The same one I felt anytime she walked into the room, anytime she looked at me, anytime she touched me. The same flutter I got anytime she…I knew exactly what that flutter was, and I was determined not to run from it.Ever since I marked her in the garden, our mate bond had gotten stronger, and my desire to be with her had become impossible to assuage.“Good morning, Alpha,” Natalie greeted. She stood at my doorstep and looked at me, waiting for me to give her audience.“What is
CHAPTER 15Charlotte's POVWe had been in Alpha Vincenzo’s territory for all of five minutes, and I decided that I liked it. I wanted it to be my lifestyle. Everything about his palace screamed power, and it only hurt my head to picture Roberta sitting by his side and he called all the shots. I deserved to be the one. I stared round the dining room, where Alpha Vincenzo hosted us for dinner. The table was large and seemed to be carved out of marble. The surface glistened so perfectly, I could see my reflection on it clearly. What I could also see clearly, was how dumb Elijah really was. His jaw was nearly on the floor as he ogled Roberta the entire time. He did it so shamelessly, his eyes leaving her for microseconds only.“How are things going for you, Roberta?”, he asked shamelessly. Roberta glanced at him and looked back at her food, not even bothering to answer. Elijah was so stupid, even a lower like Roberta knew it too. His face turned pink after she ignored him and he hurried
CHAPTER 16Natalie's POVThe weeks following Elijah's visit, and ultimately his death, were very scrambled and hectic. Everything happened so fast, I could hardly recover from one before another showed its face.I helped Charlotte find a secret way out of the territory after Elijah was killed. Whatever the magic spell of diplomacy Roberta cast on Vincenzo was, it wore off as soon as he caught Elijah trying to force himself on her. That was surely going to affect his countenance towards Charlotte. I had to help her out.I didn't help her run away because I cared about her or because I felt any basic compassion for her. I did it because we had one thing in common; mutual hatred for Roberta. We both wanted to see her fall and even if Charlotte's intent to hurt her cousin wasn't clear to me, we had to unite against a common enemy. It took Charlotte some time to get on her feet, since she had become a Lu
CHAPTER 17Manuel's POVI couldn't believe what had happened when I woke up to Vincenzo’s voice. Roberta was kidnapped. It sounded funny to me at first, but it was true. I couldn't grasp how a person would be so ballsy as to kidnap the Alpha's mate.Vincenzo was terrified by it, but he masked it well with anger. He reddened and growled around the palace, instilling fear in every body that was unfortunately caught in his path. I knew it was all an act and he was really paranoid and worried for her safety. As soon as he saw the note from Charlotte, he set his mind on going down to her territory to get Roberta back. I understood how helpless he felt, but our pack hadn't gotten its great reputation because our Alpha was making emotional decisions. “Alpha, can we rethink this?”, I asked, walking a safe distance behind him. He took long, quick strides towards the barracks with Natalie and I following and trying to match his pace
CHAPTER 18Roberta's POV The days after losing Lucia to death were not easy, for anyone. I cried most of my life out after I got back to the palace with Vincenzo and Manuel. For days, I remained confined to my room, not stepping out for any purpose. Vincenzo had to bring food in and beg me to eat for the baby.I cried myself into a state of panic and psychosis. I had to spend weeks with a therapist before I could get my mind right. All the while, Vincenzo was very patient and supportive. He was there for me and Manuel throughout our grief period and he never complained about it. While I was struggling to say goodbye to my best friend, my belly was getting rounder and rounder. By the time my due date came, I looked very swollen, like I was ready to burst any time soon.I groaned painfully, squeezing Vincenzo’s hand in mine as I felt as if his child was trying to claw its way out of me.“Ju
CHAPTER 19Vincenzo’s POV I stared into Roberta's crystal eyes as she took in the view of the scene I had prepared for her on the roof of the palace. She looked surprised. It was a simple table setting with heart shaped firefly lamps suspended on the four pillars that surrounded us. I watched her carefully as the reflection of the light made her eyes seem as if they were glowing.“Why are you staring at me like that?”, she said shyly, her eyes meeting mine only briefly before she stared down at the table. She never ceases to amaze me from the day I met her. She had borne two of my children and delivered them in front of me while I held her hand, yet a little eye contact still made her turn pink.“You look beautiful “, I said, reaching out to touch her jaw.She finally found the courage to look up at me. A bright smile was tattooed across her face as her eyes met mine, even thou
CHAPTER 76 Roberta's POV I walked into the courtroom arm in arm with Declan. The guards outside bowed their heads slightly as he walked in, ignoring me completely. I recognized them as some of the newcomers from when I was last in the palace. They had gotten better, good enough to be trusted with the security at Manuel's wedding. They looked straight ahead as I walked past them, paying me no mind at all. I did not blame them for it. My attire was very bulky, and there was even a long veil covering my face as I entered. It served to make sure that nobody saw my face or even knew who I was. As far as everyone in the room was concerned, I was long dead and forgotten. If Declan and I stood any chance of accomplishing what we were there to do, then I had to remain dead to everyone. That was why even though my clothes and m
CHAPTER 75 Natalie's POV I walked down the aisle with a heavy heart, trying my best to keep myself on guard in case of any danger that might have been lingering around in the courtroom, where we had the wedding ceremony. Manuel stood at the end of the aisle, looking at me with admiration in his eyes. His gaze traveled up my body softly and gently with each step I took. I felt my insides melting away as he took his bottom lip into his mouth when his eyes settled on my lips. I stood shakily in front of Manuel. I was very unsure why I felt so nervous around him all of a sudden. He looked dashing in his black jacket as he looked down on me with a small smirk on his face. “You look different “, he mouthed to me. I glared playfully at him, wishing we weren't at our wedding so I could kick him in his shin. I had no
CHAPTER 74Elijah's POVI leaned back on the hammock that was suspended in my room as I threw a grape into my mouth, watching the show in front of me.On my bed, two naked women sat, touching each other sensually and moaning along with it.I squinted my eyes as I watched them, my cock jumping in response.“Aren't you going to join us?”, one of them asked, reaching out to me.I smirked and picked up the glass of wine that was resting on the small table beside me.“No, darling. I just want to watch, for now”, I said, raising the glass to my lips. She giggled naughtily and pressed her lips on the other girl's own.I let out a small sigh as I felt my dick threatening to burst out of my pants. With one big gulp, I finished all the wine that was left in the glass and sat up, looking at them intensely. “Actually, I've changed my mind”, I said, beckoning th
CHAPTER 73Natalie's POV I sat on my seat and brushed my hair gently, staring at my reflection in the mirror. My hair fell softly beside my bosoms. I noticed that it had gotten longer, reaching halfway through to my back.I was supposed to be outside, giving everybody shit about the way I wanted things to look and be at my wedding. Instead, I was in my room, feeling anxious. I was not ready to admit it yet, but I actually liked the idea of marrying Manuel. He made my heart flutter sometimes, in a way that I had never felt before.I faceslammed myself for having such thoughts about Manuel. I could not afford to develop feelings for him. He was supposed to just be an instrument in my rise to the top. Getting attached to him meant messing with my plans.I carefully placed my hairbrush on the wooden dresser beside me and got off the seat.As soon as I circled round to my bed and
CHAPTER 72Manuel's POV I sighed as I sat up on my bed, staring outside the window as the sun danced in the distance.I could hear a few birds chirping in the distance, almost totally covered by the sound of the city beneath waking up.My spirits could not be lower than the way they were that morning.I was to be wed to Natalie later that same day, yet the only thoughts that occupied my mind were of Lucia.I had seen her in my dream two nights before. She was still as beautiful as ever before, and everything felt so real, it was like she never left me to begin with. She didn't say anything the whole time. She just stood there, watching me with pleading eyes.I tried to ask her what was wrong, but she wouldn't say anything. Her desperate and wanting look worried me a lot and I tried to be persistent with asking her what was wrong, but She still refused to answer.I swiftly got off the bed as soon as I heard a soft knock on my door.“Manuel, are you awake?”, Natalie asked lowly, her v
CHAPTER 71 Natalie's POV My eyes flew open as soon as I felt the sun's light attempt to pry through my eyelids. I stared at my ceiling for a while, taking in the whole scenery before me. It was a bright day, and anyone could obviously tell just by looking outside their window. I sat up gently and effortlessly slipped out of my bed, making my way to the balcony. I picked a robe off my nightstand and wrapped it around my sparsely clad body as I walked out to the balcony. The view of the city was visible from where I stood. I could not resist the smile that began to grow on my face as I watched the town move with excitement for my wedding to Manuel the next day. Manuel had wanted for us to spend the night together, but it was a tradition in my family that the bride and the groom must not sleep in the same room for a week before the wedding. I sucked in a deep breath as I felt my body shiver slightly in anticipation. Just the thought that by the next day, I would be married to
CHAPTER 70 Vincenzo’s POV My eyes widened slightly as I watched the gr9an loudly in pain. I could hear the loud snapping of the bones in his arm as it cracked in three different places. “Humphrey “, Darla whispered shakily, getting off her position on the floor and running to his side. “Get away from him!”, I yelled at her, wondering if she was just plain stupid to run back to his side after what he had done to her. Before I could get my words out, he slapped her across the room with his straight hand. My head snapped to him when I heard him growl slowly. I noticed that his eyes had a yellowish looking glow around them, to signify that he was transforming into his wolf, and it seemed like a very painful transformation. There was not a full moon outside, so I could tell that his transformation was not triggered by the lu
CHAPTER 69Vincenzo’s POV I was angry at Tyler. No, anger was an understatement that didn't quite describe how I felt towards him after he declared that he would not help me get my revenge. The way I saw it, I had asked him to join me to be a messenger of justice, and he had turned me down simply because there was nothing in it for him.“Is the food not to your liking?”, Collin asked, looking down at my empty plate as I sat across from him at the dining table with both of my arms crossed.“Why do you ask? Would you even do anything if it isn't?”, I asked sarcastically, looking away from him.I heard him sigh heavily before the sound of his utensils clinking on his ceramic plate resumed. After watching him eat for a few more minutes, I decided to give up the pouty attitude and have some food. I had in fact been starving.Collin and I ate dinner in silence.
CHAPTER 68Declan’s POV My eyes shut open abruptly. It seemed as if I had never slept but instead, I had just blinked. The dim sunlight staggered across my eyelids, touching my eyes but barely leaving a mark.I blinked slowly, looking up at the ceiling as a single ray of sun glazed my vision. I turned my head to the side and saw sweet little Roberta lying down beside me with her mouth slightly agape, and her eyes tightly shut together.Without making a sound or causing any disturbance at all, I snuck my way out of the bed and stood at the other end, looking down at her unconscious figure.I could just kill her in a single move, without even breaking a sweat, and I would get away with it because she was by far the most gullible werewolf I had ever met. Then again, I liked to believe deeply that I was just too crafty with plans and she could never, in her mediocre life, stand a chance against my expertise. I stared down at her as her soft innocent face peered back at me with her tigh
