BRUNA’S POV

My pulse quickened as I inhaled the captivating fragrance of his sweet pine mingled with the intoxicating musk emanating from his strapping body. It stirred an insatiable hunger, and my mouth watered, yearning for more. Never had I smelled something so delicious that got me weak on my knees and my heart thudded against my chest.

I closed my eyes and enjoyed Alpha Silas’ tantalizing, dangerously attractive scent that formed several knots in my stomach until I could feel his muscles stiffening. In the next fleeting second, he shoved me aside. I stared at the mark I just carved in the crook of his neck before reaching for his eyes. My simmering temptation crushed into pieces as I reached for his gaze, which pierced me with an intense glare.

He glared at me for a moment, and I shook under his radar. Fortunately, he released me from his glare when he turned to the audience and announced in his sharp, cold voice, “From now on, she is the Luna of the Blood Moon Pack!”

Everyone appeared overjoyed as they gave a round of applause, except for my parents, standing in a corner. Though they were clapping, their faces were plastered with disgust. I sensed my stepmom wasn’t happy seeing me as the Luna of such a powerful pack.

Soon, the round of applause settled, and the priest announced, “Now I announce that Alpha Silas Raynott and Regina Walters are officially married!”

In a celebration show, applause erupted once more to commemorate our union. I noticed Frederick, my ex-boyfriend, approaching us shortly after. He scanned me from head to toe and smirked, remarking, “Congratulations, Brother Silas, on marrying such a young and stunning lady!”

My heart sank as I remembered the painful truth—Frederick had broken up with me a month ago to be with my step-sister, Regina.

His words were mocking as he continued, “As a husband and a wife, I hope you have a lovely mating session on your wedding night!”

He bent down and whispered something into Silas’ ears, but I caught his mocking words.

“Oops, you’re married to a woman now, but you used to date her. It’s such a shame, isn’t it? I know I’ll miss her...”

Silas’ reaction was immediate. His expression darkened, and he clenched his fists. His veins throbbed with anger.

He cut Frederick off sharply. “Enough, Frederick.”

Frederick clicked his tongue and smirked again. “You’re just jealous, huh? I guess you can’t help it. After all, she’s the one you’ve always wanted.”

The air grew tense as Silas seethed, clearly furious with his brother's interference. He managed to regain control, his gaze now turned toward me. “Regina, go see your family for the last time before leaving for your new home!”

I hesitated for a moment, the idea of seeing my family making me sick to my stomach. Frederick’s betrayal stung more than ever. I had been replaced in his life by Regina—a woman who had orchestrated this entire mess.

But I had no choice. Disobeying Silas would put my grandmother's life at risk. I nodded, steeling myself for the confrontation.

I made my way down the stage toward my parents, my steps heavy. As I approached, my father turned his back in disgust, refusing to acknowledge me. It broke my heart to see him act like I was a stranger. I clung to the fabric of my white gown, as if the delicate threads could ease my pain.

But then, my stepmother stepped forward. Her expression was unreadable at first, but then it turned sweet in a way that made my skin crawl. She cupped my face with her hands, feigning innocence.

“Oh, Regina, I will miss you so much!” she said, her voice dripping with false sincerity.

Then, in one swift motion, her hands tightened around me, squeezing me into an almost suffocating embrace. Her voice turned cold as she whispered in my ear, “Listen to me, Bruna. From now on, you are Regina. You will obey every command of Alpha Silas. If he tells you to be his maid, do it. If he wants you as his slave, spread your legs for him. You have no say in this.”

Her words cut through me like a knife. I had always known she despised me, but to hear her say it so openly was jarring. The cruel reminder of how little I mattered to my own family stung with a raw intensity.

She released me, her face dark with malice. “If I hear anything bad about you from Alpha Silas, your grandmother will die,” she warned, her voice icy.

I stood frozen, unable to respond, as she walked away, her fake smile a final insult.

Once the ceremony ended and the guests dispersed, I was left alone with my new husband, Alpha Silas, and a few of his closest pack members. I lowered my head in shame, unsure of how to navigate this new chapter of my life.

Alpha Silas looked at me, his voice low and controlled. “I’ll have the driver take you home. I have some business to attend to.”

I nodded, not meeting his gaze. It was a relief not to be left alone with him just yet, but the dread of what awaited me lingered in my chest.

Outside the banquet hall, I saw a black Range Rover parked, and the driver waited to escort me. I let out a long, steady breath. The night had barely begun, and my new life as Alpha Silas’ Luna was already haunting me.

The thought of spending my wedding night with him, alone in our bedroom, terrified me. What would he do to me? Would he treat me like an object, a pawn in his game? All I could do was wait and pray that somehow, I would survive this hellish fate.
