Ethan led me into the castle the sound of my shoes echoes against the walls. The first room, if you could call it that, that we walked into was as large as my father’s meeting hall. It was maybe two or three stories tall, the walls went up, up, up and almost looked endless from where I stood. Twin stairways on opposite sides of the room with red velvet rugs that adorned the floors and lanterns that decorated the wall and led up to a corridor that seemed to hang in midair.

We took the first right and walked down a hallway of stone and an arched ceiling. Large windows brought in natural light. I looked outside as we continued to walk and gasped at the sight. The view from the hallway alone was breathtaking. Trees on top of trees and wildlife as deer frolicked and birds flew.

“Beautiful,” I whispered.
