Chad POV:

Time seemed to stop the moment she fell; she was in a coma for two days and two nights after that. Because of my promise to Kent and Chad, I couldn't get her out of that cage; I could only have someone wipe her body and change her clothes.

On the third day, Erza woke up from her coma.

Her eyes were wide as she stared at the ceiling, but deep inside was an emptiness, indifferent as a corpse.

“Erza…” I tried calling, her eyes moving slightly, circling, and then stopping at me. "Are you hungry? Want something to eat?”

She didn't respond or react like she didn't hear my voice.

Still the same, she curled up like a snail around her body as if trying to protect herself.

I let out a deep breath and lowered my eyes, trying to adjust the emotions under my chest, and then looked at her, unable to hold back but heartbroken.

She became as she is today; I can't escape responsibility. Is this hand of mine stained with her blood much?

Honestly, I didn't dare to look her straight in the eyes
