Remiel’s POVHaving my powers returned to me was like a weight being lifted from my very heavy shoulders, but seeing Jamari cry once the transfer was complete was enough to make me want to give them up forever. A feeling that I never thought that I would ever have, especially over a woman. In such a short time Jamari has become more important to me than anything else that has walked the Realms before, something I did not think was possible. “What is wrong?” I ask her, squeezing her tightly to my chest in an attempt to cease her flow of tears that are tearing apart my heart. Instead of answering, she moves out of my embrace and wipes the tears from her eyes and cheeks. Her body stiffens in front of me before she moves her beautiful emerald eyes up to meet mine. “It feels as if you are missing from inside of me.” She tells me, sending more tears to flow down her cheeks. Grabbing hold of her, I pull her into my chest once again, my heart aching at the sadness her words have invoked. E
Jamari’s POVAfter another round of love making and a quick shower, Remiel and I are finally ready to find our way to the others. There is a lot I need to tell Lucern and even more that needs to be done to flush out the traitors inside of his castle walls. ‘I hope you are decent’ comes through the mind link moments before a bouncing little girl with the cutest little curls comes bounding through the bedroom door. “Mommy! Daddy!!” Rose squeals upon seeing the both of us together. Running past my open arms, she launches herself at Remiel who picks her up awkwardly before crushing her to his chest for a tight embrace. Rose giggles sweetly as she snuggles her face into Remiel’s wide chest. A look of aww appears on Remiel’s face as he looks down at our daughter snuggled in his arms. ‘I could get used to this.’ He says through our newly fixed mind link, his happiness flowing through him through our bond and lighting my mood dramatically. James is next to step cautiously into the room, h
Jamari’s POVOnce we finished eating breakfast, Lucern led us back to the conference room that I woke up in the other day. After closing the door behind us, Morgana waves her hand in the air to seal the door from prying ears and eyes. It was just me, my mates, and Count Adrian in the room for the conversation that I need to have with them. Ruth was kind enough to take the kids and keep them occupied while I relay to the group what I learned while in the morgue the other day. Once everyone is settled around the large conference table, with Levi and Kenji seated on either side of me, Morgana and Remiel seated on the sides of them, and Count Adrian and Lucern seated across from us. It bothers me a bit that Lucern would place himself so far away from us, it is almost as if he is separating himself from our group. Shaking off that feeling, I open my mouth to speak, but Lucern beats me to it. “You should not have done that Jamari.” He tells me, disapproval clear on his face as he looks a
Lucern’s POV I did not want to have this intervention with Jamari, it kills me to have to be so hard on her for doing what she felt was right, but it is important that she understands that her actions could have had dire consequences. Experienced necromancers have made grave mistakes when attempting to bring back the dead and it cost them their life. I could not handle it if something terrible happened to Jamari because she attempted to do something that I myself was not willing to do. Watching her attack that female Vampire and steal the life essence out of her was one of the scariest moments in my long life. If she had made one minor mistake she could have brought back an evil spirit instead of Andrew and it could have killed her easily with how close she was to him. I knew deep down that Jamari would not kill anyone in cold blood, but she was gone for five years in the darkest parts of the Fae Realm and a lot could have changed in that time. Despite that, I hadn’t planned on br
Morgana’s POV Being back in the Vampire Realm has been an adjustment for me to say the least. Where I am used to having Jamari all to myself…it has been three days since I have really spent much time with her. I knew it was going to be an adjustment once we found our way back to the Vampire Realm, but I was not expecting it to be this hard to adjust. Some days I even miss being in the Fae Realm and long for the days that we spent there. I know that is not fair to Jamari or her other mates, but I also know that I am a selfish person by nature and I can not help the way I feel. Now Levi wants to pressure Lucern to complete the mate bond with Jamari, and I must admit that I have mixed emotions about the whole thing. On one hand, I was with Lucern for over two centuries and it is weird to think of him being with someone else, but on the other hand, I do not have the same feelings for Lucern like I once did and it does not matter if he moves on. The thing that sticks with me while th
Lucern’s POVHow could I ever believe that I could resist this woman? Arousal hits my system instantly as my lips crash down on Jamari’s for a searing kiss. The touch of our lips meeting ignites my desire and sends blood rushing to my swollen cock, making it rock hard in seconds. A thousand years of pleasure would never be enough with my fiery Queen that sets my blood aflame. Jamari lets out a moan of discontent when I pull away from our kiss and place some distance between us so we can catch some much needed air. “As much as I would love to continue, my Sweet.” I pause to suck in a steadying breath, a task made difficult when I catch sight of Jamari’s adorable pout. Releasing a pained groan, I close my eyes against the walking temptation that is Jamari. When my arousal is finally under control, I open my eyes and face Jamari’s disappointed face. “Unfortunately we have a feast to plan, my dear.”Jamari releases a disappointed sigh before nodding her head in agreement, her flaming e
Lucern’s POVExtra seats have been placed behind the King and Queen’s thrones located on the large stage. Four seats have been situated a foot behind our thrones, two on each side of us. The seats are for Levi, Kenji, Remiel, and Morgana as a show of respect to Jamari’s other four mates. It is unprecedented that a King shares his Queen with others, especially so many others, which is why I feel it is necessary to show solidarity between the six of us. The seating arrangements will show my people that they should respect their Queen’s mates, while also showing who has ultimate authority over my domain. Kenji and Levi appear in the center of the banquet hall, both dressed in an expensive suit, looking just as comfortable as they look in regular clothes. Both men are dressed in all black, with a red tie wrapped around their necks to offset the dark color. Their looks draw the attention of the many female servants standing off to the side of the room. Their excited whispers carry to my
Jamari’s POVNervous energy moves through my body, gaining strength the longer the feast goes on as if nothing is amiss. Having all of my mates so close to me has kept my nerves from taking over me, with Lucern’s gentle hand on my thigh the grounding that I need to keep my body still. Two courses have gone by without any incident and now we await the main course. The kitchens prepared a delectable soup and salad for the first two courses and I can’t wait to see what they have prepared for the final dish. Just then delicious scents float to me from across the room as rows of servants come waltzing through the doors to my left with their arms filled with plates. The same woman from earlier walks up to Lucern and I with her head down, her cheeks flushed from the crude thoughts that are flowing through her mind. Lucern gives my thigh a gentle squeeze, sensing the stiffening of my body upon the woman’s arrival. Letting out a steadying breath, I force a fake smile on my face and thank the
I have decided to end book 2 where it is. Thank you all for your continued support and positive reviews. I will be starting Book 3, the final book in the series, soon and will have it up by next month. I am currently dealing with a family emergency that might make my planned timeline a little longer than I would like so please bear with me as I plan out how to end Jamari's journey. The next book will introduce the last of Jamari's mates and will bring everything that has happened in the last two books to a head as well. I am so grateful to everyone that has stuck by me throughout this journey and I am anxious to see what is in store for Jamari and her mates. All my love, Heidi Monath
Jamari’s POV‘Did this fake bitch just say what I think she said?’ My body moves before I can register what is happening. The feeling of my body flying through the air as I launch myself towards where Sabina lays on the floor staring up at Lucern with lovesick eyes. ‘I will rip her still beating heart from her chest.’Something grabs hold of my waist before wrapping their strong arms around the slender area and pulls me close to a hard body. Howard’s scent invades my senses as my enraged mind refocuses on what is happening in front of me. A hand moves up to clamp over my lips in a warning to be quiet. When Howard drops me back to the hardwood floors, I swirl around on him in anger and glare at him. He gives me a sheepish look before turning his attention back to Sabina and Lucern. Letting out a huff of anger, I turn myself back to the bitch as well, plotting out her slow demise in my head as I watch.Lucern stares at her quietly, disbelief clear on his handsome cocoa features. His bo
Lucern’s POV“No one is here.” A disappointed look appears on Sabina’s face as we make our way into Howard’s hidden office that only a select few people are able to access. As we look around the large room, we find no one in sight, but I can sense my mate’s scent somewhere in this room, so I know she is here. Before I can call for Jamari to let her know that I can sense her in the room, Sabina suddenly throws herself at me. Her body drapes over mine, sending confusion through my body as she grabs hold of me tightly. The scent of blood fills the room, causing my nostrils to flare as I seek out the scent. Shoving Sabina to the side, I look around the room in search of where the scent of blood could be coming from. Sabina whimpers from behind me, drawing my attention to her direction. Blood flows from her stomach, coating her hands as she presses down on the wound that has blood flowing out of it like a river. My senses go on overdrive as I search the room for the unknown threat that
Jamari’s POV“I have brought you here to offer you a warning.” My body stiffens at Howard’s words as a feeling of dread settles in the pit of my stomach. Howard motions for me to take a seat on one of the couches in the sitting area, a serious look taking over his features as he follows me over and takes a seat on a couch that faces the one that I sat on. “I am not the only one on the council that feels that Lucern has made a mistake by taking you as his Queen.” Howard says, an apologetic look pulling at his features. “That was of course before I realized that you would be an asset to the Vampire Realm.” He says, earning a snort from me in response. “I know that does not mean much now, but I do hope you will give me the chance to earn your trust.” A gentle smile appears on Howard’s face as he looks over at me. Even after everything that has been said and done by him recently, I can feel deep in my bones that Howard is telling the truth and that he means me no harm. And if that wasn
Jamari’s POV“Some might call you foolish for letting Howard off so easily, my lady.” Nodding my head in agreement, I walk out of the door without looking around at the disapproving faces of the rest of Lucern’s council members. I had originally come in search of Lucern to see what had gotten him so upset all of a sudden, I was not expecting to walk into a council meeting that was about me. “She is right, my lady.” The sound of Howard’s unexpected voice pulls me out of my thoughts, startling me slightly as I jump in place, my hand moving up to grasp the base of my throat in order to calm my nerves. An apologetic look appears on Howard’s face as he moves off of the wall that he was reclining on. “I did not mean to startle you, my lady.” Howard stops his forward movement a few feet away from me, nervously moving from foot to foot as an internal struggle appears on his face. “What is it?” I ask him curiously. Something is clearly bothering the old Vampire and with the way things ended
Lucern’s POVSilence moves around the room as everyone thinks over Jamari’s question. Removal from the council has never happened before, not in a situation like this at least. There have been times in history where members were not rechosen for the role of council member, but no one has ever been removed mid-term like Jamari is suggesting. Council members, as well as other subjects, have been sentenced to death for less than what Howard has been accused of. Most rulers do not take too kindly to their subjects speaking ill of themselves or their mates. “You do not wish for Howard’s head, my lady?” Sabina asks, an intrigued look on her face. She leans forward in her seat and places her chin on the back of her joined hands. Her brow lifts in interest as she stares over at Jamari and waits for her response.I lean back in my seat and watch as Jamari squirms in her seat, uncomfortable as ever with being the center of attention. Her gaze moves over my council members until her eyes land
Lucern’s POV “Don’t do something you might regret for me, my King.” Jamari’s whispered words echo around in my head as I struggle to regain control over the bloodlust that had slowly taken control over my actions. It is not often that I allow myself to get so enraged that the bloodlust takes over, it was something that I learned to control at an early age. Adrian steps up to stand beside Jamari, amusement glinting in those eyes of his as he looks between the two of us. Whispers begin to fill the quiet space all around us, Jamari’s presence soothing the fear that had my council members as still as a statue only moments before. Jamari lifts up her right hand and places it on the arm that belongs to the hand that is still currently squeezing the life out of Howard. Disgust takes over my face as I retract my claws from his neck but do not release my hold from around his neck. Within seconds the deep gashes around his neck has healed enough to stop the flow of blood from continuing to
Lucern’s POV“Sire, when are we going to unlock the Vampire Realm? Many of our subjects are complaining about the lack of freedom, and the subjects that are trapped on the outside of the Vampire Realm are starting to get antsy.” The circle of my council of advisors nod their head in agreement at Rudolph’s claim. Count Adrian leans back in his seat, his eyes surveying the older men that sit around us in the conference room that is usually used for conducting business. “Would the people rather we come under attack?” Adrian asks, his brow lifting in challenge. The council at least has the decency to look embarrassed that they had forgotten about the threat. “Has the threat not been subdued?” One of the men speaks up, a glint of mischief blatantly clear in his eyes. Howard is the one council member that I would love to get rid of. He never misses an opportunity to cause issues for me within the Realm and I still have not figured out what his problem is with me. I am the rightful heir t
Jamari’s POV“Are you sure that this is a good idea?” Kenji asks the same question that has been asked a hundred times since I told my mates that we need to get into the Fae Realm. “What if us unlocking the Fae Realm is what sets the events that you saw into motion? We can’t be hasty with our decision making.” Kenji’s words make me pause my speed reading of the spell books that Lucern has available in his massive library. A frown scrunches up the corners of my eyes as my brows draw together in thought. My eyes move up to find Kenji’s worried gaze. “I have to be there for him Kenji.” Sorrow fills my words as I am once again reminded of the scene that I watched play out before my eyes. Lifting my head for the first time in an hour, I look around in search of my Demon King whom I have given strict orders not to leave my side until we know for sure that the vision of him dying in that clearly does not come to pass. “Where is Levi?” I ask, sniffing the air to see if I can catch his scent
