Before noon can set, Tatiana's eyes fluttered open and her eyes settled at the unfamiliar ceiling. How can she forget that she's not in her room anymore and wasn't here to idle around?
Blinking her eyes, Tatiana stared blankly at the roof for a minute before hopping out from her bed with a heavy sigh.
Spanning her limbs, her eyes prowled in every niche of her chosen cabin. It was a typical-sized bedroom with dulled black and white lacquers. It had all that a bedroom should have, a bed, a nightstand, lamps, a desk, a chair, a closet door, and some minor furniture to spruce the monotonous colored space.
But to be honest, regardless of the fact on how he treated them, her heart didn't feel at ease at all. She... she was terrified for the demise that awaits her if she fails and that's the last thing she has in mind.
Tatiana shook her head and tidied up the foolish thoughts that will burden her for sure. After that, she walked to the shower to freshen up a bit.
She squandered half an hour to roll everything before coming downstairs. When she arrived at the dining hall with enough space for more than five-person, Tatiana spotted her brother conversing with Erebor.
She cleared her throat to gain their attention. Fortunately, they did.
"Now that you're here, we can proceed on discussing your training."
Her brother pulled a chair for her and she muttered her thanks with a smile.
"If that so? Then, I will heed every word you'll say."
"Good. I thought you're stubborn just like your father. After all, you are the seeds of his fruit had bear."
There's a sprouting beam in her lips but she suppressed it. It's great listening to someone offending the Almighty General, her father. She never heard her father's name was spoken by the region her father protected till he breaks and die within this land.
It was just sad upon knowing that the outstanding contribution of her father was put in vain because of this... because of her. That's why she's afraid of the failure that might salute her any second.
"She's impulsive, Erebor. She even dares to reject the Alpha even if she knows that she can't do it."
Tatiana grunted. "I was reckless that time, Croft. I wasn't thinking rationally, okay?"
"Alright, young ones. Quit with the bickering. We shall stride forward to your training," his eyes were fixed to her and Tatiana can't alleviate the tension building within her. "Are you ready to face a rough drill?"
"For the sake of keeping my family safe through this, then I will." she retorted with a determination throbbed in her orbs.
Erebor nodded, satisfied with her answer. "Very well. I'm looking forward to it. Prepare yourself after a bowl of a meal. I'm gonna drive you to your limits, Tatiana."
"I understand, Erebor."
Even if the twisted circumstances baffled her, Tatiana still obliged to train with him. And so, her hella drill of working herself out has begun.
"Focus and follow my pace. Each batter should exert a strong force otherwise your hit will be weak. You don't want your enemy to stand firm and have the opportunity to strike, do you?"
Tatiana shook her head immediately. "I'll try my best."
"Try harder and let go of the best. Be great in every gait, Tatiana. Because on the battlefield, only the strongest one will remain upright and firm. Yet, the cowards might live because of the power that is wielded behind the shadows of others, but their honor is false in all its points. Do you want that kind of respect, Tatiana?"
"No, Erebor."
"Then don't just stop because you thought you're already reaching your limits. You haven't, Tatiana. You're still in the peak of the easiest boundary."
She clearly knows that she's a weakling and he's kneading some salts in her wound. It pains her to perceive that but that was the truth. She can't avoid it no matter how deaf her ears were.
But it also makes her realize the meaning of that fact. Erebor was telling her to let go of the fragments of her flaws and take it in. That in order to protect the important people in her life, she needs to be strong for herself first.
Is this... is this his father wants for her? If yes, then she won't fail her father's wish.
Lifting the rod packed with thorns, her palms were dripping with her own blood. She was gritting her teeth while squeezing them, sending an electric pain throughout her body. But still, she deprived herself to swing it back and forth, hoisting it up and yanking it down, producing a sound of air being ripped.
The sound is what Erebor wants to hear. He expects her to do this without minding the injury and the suffering her hands have.
The verge of his lips curved. Tatiana didn't disappoint him.
"You did well," he hurled the stick he utilized to instruct her. "In the battlefield, you can't pick any sword whatever you want. Be it in a branch of wood nor a stone, as long as it can kill your enemy, then grasp it like it was your possession and rule it to wither someone's life."
He paces forward and gazed at the extensive forest in front of them.
"Think your weapon as a fraction of your body. Find the connection and be one of it," Erebor throw a dagger which perplexed Tatiana where it came from. "Use it to protect, to save, and lastly, to kill."
He left after saying that. Erebor abandoned her hanging for an explanation.
Tatiana tilted her head before crouching down and gripping the dagger in her bleeding hands. While inspecting it thoroughly, she caught a name carved on its tip.
"Tatiana..." she whispered. It was her name etched with runes.
This dagger is meant for her.
However, when she got up, she got teary-eyed for the reason that perhaps, this was her father's gift that he couldn't give because he died before he can. And he entrusted this to Erebor to give the dagger to her.
"Father... we miss you. I-I won't fail you, I promise."
In the calm place where only the gust of wind and the chirping of the birds can be perceived, there's an audible pledge that was heard.
"Sway it like a warrior ready for a war."Tatiana grasped the handle of her dagger and swing it on her flank, one pace backward, and whirled her back to trudge forward, sole throw before putting up with a speed and seized the dagger swiftly within her hands.A boisterous clap shrouded their ground."You've learned well and imbibed the lessons I've taught you. For now, rest for a while and we'll continue this later."Puffing, she nodded regardless. However, a cup of water was positioned in front of her. When she looked up, she was greeted by her brother's dazzling smile.A line arose in her forehead and became apparent. Tatiana nibbled her bottom lip while still panting for a bit. She accepted the cup later on."What are you smiling of?" she implored before gulping the water in one swallow."Nothing. I was just happy that you're coping up adequately. I never thought of this thing to happen yet you handle it so well."Tati
To pick the lotus flower in its raw form, Tatiana was out of shape upon doing this. Hence, in her every pace, she was murmuring some swear word.Whenever her sight prowled around the area, she'll shut her eyes close and curse once more. She's been walking inside the unknown wilderness where only the swinging trees were her companion due to the gust of wind howling roughly."I've been strolling here for about an hour yet I still couldn't find the Lotus flower!" she whispered, a bit annoyed by the task that was bestowed upon her, augmented by the tranquility of the forest but she knows that there's chaos stirring beneath the surface."Where can I find it?"Tatiana halted from her steps and plucked the leaves broadened in the branch near her. She touches it before sighing and proceeding to have a stride. Then, a hymn piece of voice infiltrated her hearing to the point that it stunned her and she can no longer move.It was as if calling h
Tatiana felt almost as confused as she had when she fainted. She saw herself in an unfamiliar place for the first time in the same day."I've long this day to happen. To hear my name from you, I'm happy, Tatiana."She almost leaps out when a voice was heard from behind. Tatiana turns her back for a lookout and saw a tall woman approaching through the dark space. She was obscured by the blinding light that wraps around her. It was as if she was one of the lights that glow at every pace she makes, bound in the boundary of luminous power.Tatiana felt she should kneel and wait for orders like she was facing a great general, ancient mage, or a king equal to the Alpha."Say my name..." her soft voice was like a hymn keen to a piece of dominant music that wants someone to heed.Tatiana felt obliged to do so and something clicked in her mind... a name that was once uttered by her."Aurora...""Yes," Tatiana can imagine that she's smili
Her muddled train of thought after she arrived at the door made her exhausted body feel even more tired and in this cloud of confusion, she once again sank into darkness. After being asleep for who knows how many hours, she slowly woke up. The sky was already dark from the mists strolling around and the room was extremely quiet. The lights were off, which made her eyes slightly squint. She strained to blink her eyes, trying to see what's inside the room. After some time, her eyes slowly adjusted to the dark, and thanks to the moonlight that squeezed its way in from the window, she saw a figure of a man hungover at the bedside table. It was her brother."C-Croft..." her narrowly raspy voice made Croft jolted awake."You are awake. Tatiana, are you okay now?" he immediately strengthened up and his face was throbbed with concern for Tatiana that has been out for two hours.Af

Tatiana's mother, Solar cooked their favorite dishes and it made the table crammed with every food. She was helpless while looking at her mother putting foodstuff on her plate. While her brother was diligent in devouring the food he scooped."Eat more, Tatiana," her mother urged before sighing. "It was just three days yet you lost weight."Tatiana chuckled. "Worry not, mother. I'm pretty fine."However, Tatiana knows that three days feels like a hella eternity when Erebor trained her until her body collapsed in tiredness. Yet, there's no need to tell her every detail to her mother, making Solar worry for her well-being was the less thing she wants.Furthermore, they devoured the food with relish while talking about some things, avoiding the topic of her fight a while later. Since she was a child, Tatiana Kintyre Wilbur Thyagaraja was born to be defective with all the traits of a she-wolf. She was born weak to slay, fragile for all the quirks that had to give rise to fulfillment, and a wimp to even hoist up a sword. But she's the claimed lineage of Thyagaraja's direct disciples through various ancestors, the reason she was scurried to be the Alpha's mate.Yet, after knowing how feeble she is, the Alpha ordered a decree for all the gratis she-wolf to battle and win the chance to be his other half. And so, the trial has begun. In the gloom there is steam, rising in short puffs, miniature clouds started appearing in the sky.Tatiana crouched, resting the hilt of her sword on the rain-soaked ground before raising a licked finger to the air. Wind in her face, good, that might give her the edge.
Her father died in the front row in the outbreak of war. He was shot by a lethal arrow that contains rancor that was solely made for wolves where it instantly killed him, leaving Tatiana and her brother in the hands of his other half, their mother. The house of Thyagaraja has boosted to fame for being condoned by the Alpha 'cause of the sacrifices her father did for their clan. And the house of Wilbur was offered hundreds of golds for compensation.Tatiana scoffed upon reminiscing that. Can fame revive his father? Can those golds redeem her mother from the misery? No!Tatiana's brows furrowed. Every wolf in their clan, be it as a she-wolf had told that the Alpha was benevolent enough to bestow these gifts to them. Yet she couldn't urge herself to comprehend with that. She just sneered at herself. "How foolish these people can be?" she mumbled and took a stroll in the woods. While randomly collecting some logs, she heard a howl approximately from he

They were walking leisurely and sometimes paused for a bit to spare a rest. The man she didn't know what's his name was still a farther stranger to her regardless of the fact that he is her father's pal. Moreover, her eyes feasted at those woody perennial plants, typically having a single stem or trunk growing to a considerable height and bearing lateral branches at some distance from the ground. She also recently experienced the wind blow, not just gentle but full-blown bone-chilling winds. It continuously touches her bare skin and feels cool and fairly strong, she must say. The woods were the werewolves terrain but it feels bizarre to her whenever her pace quickened to catch up with them. Tatiana feels like she didn't belong here... although she's also born a werewolf. However, when they arrived at the site of the unknown place, Tatiana and her brother were confused about where they are. Her father's comrade didn't fu
A horrified gasp broke out from her maw. Her shuddering hands were clasped by her mother, soothing her somehow."Why do I have to be his mate? Why can't I reject him?" she whispered with quivering lips.Solar caresses her daughter's back. "I wish that you can do that Tatiana, but the odds were not in our favor. The Alpha is the strongest among all, you can't reject him even if you want to."Croft was fidgeting in the alcove, frightened for his sister's life.Furthermore, the three were silent the entire period as they proceed to their dining after heeding everything.Tatiana swirls the spoon in her cup of tea, staring blankly at it without even fluttering her eyes. Thus, Solar cleared her throat dry before stretching out her daughter's hand and lightly stroking it."Everything will be okay, Tatiana.
