Eva's POV

I could feel my heart racing as Mark followed me into the bathroom, his eyes boring into me. I knew I had made a mistake by speaking out against him, and now I was in serious trouble. But I refused to back down. I turned to face him, my chin held high.

"What are you going to do, huh?" I said, my voice shaking slightly.

"Are you going to hit me? I'm not afraid of you." It was a bold-faced lie, but I had to project an air of confidence, even if I was crumbling on the inside.Mark just looked at me for a moment, his expression unreadable. I could feel my palms getting sweaty, and I struggled to keep my composure.

Then, to my surprise, he started to laugh. It was a genuine laugh, and it caught me off guard.

"You're quite the firecracker, aren't you?" He said, a smile playing on his lips.

"I like that." He said, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
