Chapter 5

Luther POV 

I was a bit confused when I heard her say it, I was filled with both doubt and confusion. There was no way Selena had rejected me like that, I know that it was a bit much but for her to even think of that. 

“What did you say?” I managed to force some words out of my mouth when I was looking at her, I was filled with confusion. 

Selena was looking at me, I could see the tears welling up in her eyes and how she was fighting them back. I couldn't bring myself to think of how hurt she was or how alone she was feeling at that moment. 

“I reject you Alpha Luther as my mate and my husband,”  Selena said with all the strength in her body, she was not going to stand there and watch me make her do something that she didn't want to do. 

Selena had thrown the check I gave her to the floor, I knew that there was no way for me to even make her come back to me after all I had done. But I was not going to stand there and watch her walk out of my life like that. 

I turned to grab hold of her, but she was already out the door. I could see her walking at a fast pace trying to make sure that there was no way for me to catch up. 

‘She is probably heading home,’ I thought to myself, nothing was going to make me think of something else for the moment, I wanted to make sure that I had settled everything before going for Selena. 

“How dare she?! She is nothing but a nobody that you found and changed her life, why is she acting like that?” Anna was cursing Selena with everything she had in her, it was clear that she was not going to be saying anything other than the curses she had in her mouth. 

“Son, don't tell me that you are going to let her walk away like that? She has insulted you and nobody can insult the Alpha and walk away with it, you have to make sure that there is no way for her to even insult you.” My mother spoke up, she was also trying to make sure that I forced Selena into taking the punishment for the accident. 

I had enough... 

“Mother, Anna, can I have a word with Adriane alone please?” I said calmly, there was no sign of hostility in my voice. 

My mother didn't want to listen, she was trying to get me to do something about Selena. She continued with her complaints. “But son she just insulted you and you are not acting like..” 

“Mother I asked you for a moment with Adriane and nothing else please,” I turned, I was making sure that there was no sign of rage in my voice to make sure that nothing was going to make her think that I was trying to be disrespectful, I looked at them with the anger in my heart and voice. 

My mother didn't say anything, she stood there looking at me for some minutes before she made her way out of the room. Anna followed her closely, I was not going to say another word but look down at my feet. 

I waited till the room was quiet, I took a deep breath. “You’re happy now, right? You got what you wanted right? You killed someone and you managed to fool my mother into thinking that you were the injured one, making her force me to a corner and tell Selena that she was going to have to take the blame for what you did!” 

“You know that there was no other way for us to be together, I told you I would do anything to make sure that I make you mine and there is no way I would be thinking of letting you go that easily,” Adraine spoke up, she sounded feisty and her voice was loud now. 

There was no doubt to it, she was a pure manipulator and had played all this for me to be tied up. “You think that you have any future together with me? You must be joking then, I don't know what you think you will achieve with that but there is no way you will ever replace her in my life, my life was okay until you waltzed in and ruined it. Mark my word, you will be nothing compared to her, you might have made everyone think that there is something between us but there is nothing that you will do that would make me see you the way I see her.” 

With that I turned and began walking out of the ward, I wanted to go see if I would see Selena before she walked out of the hospital even though I knew that I was a bit too late. 

‘Kal, can you sense her?’ I called my wolf, I needed to know if he could feel her wolf anywhere close. 

‘No, I can't sense her. I fear she has already severed the tie that bound us together.’ Kal responded. 

“Damn it!” I clenched my fist, I knew that there was nothing I could do about the whole issue but it was going to be there taunting me. I looked around to see if I could catch a glimpse of her sliver-colored hair. 

“She couldn't have gotten that far, she had wounds on her. Maybe she did go back to Packhouse,” I said to myself knowing fully well that there was no way she would even think of going back there. 

‘I believe she is no longer close by, you were all mean to her. I could hear her cries of pain and there was nothing she could do but watch.’ Kal said, my heart melted when I heard what he said. 

I took a deep breath when I knew that there was no way she would even Wang to look at me. “Even if she is still at the Pack House there is no way she would ever forgive me.”
