November 18th
Leo awoke the next morning in a bad mood.
The first thing he did was let out a deep groan before he rolled over and dropped his heavy arm onto my stomach.
"I can't believe you didn't make me pancakes," he said.
Three hours later, I was in the library. Leo had briefly come in to tell me he was leaving and Luca was coming over in half an hour but that was all I'd seen of him all day.The food situation was becoming dire. For lunch, I had a stale piece of toast and the banana Luca had been worshipping. I wasn't surprised to find it was no more than mediocre.
"What the fuck Leo?!" I said as he began to drive."Why are you'what the fucking'?" he questioned."Maybe because you just beat up your third in command?""He'll be fine. And don't think that you got away lightly. I just can't beat you up because you're my mate and everything which sucks."
November 19thThe next day a frost left the forest bitterly cold."Do you want to go on a walk?" Leo asked as I sat at the table drinking hot chocolate."Depends which Leo I'm going with..." I muttered. "Old Leo or whoever inhabited you two days ago..."
After an awkward return home, in which no one spoke but Leo just held my hand as Lia walked silently next to us, Leo made coffee."So what's up?" Leo asked, handing her the mug."Apart from the fact that I just stumbling upon my brother screwing in the forest?" she asked with a grimace.Leo
Just as Luca disappeared the door opened. You look like you're in pain," I said, approaching him slowly. "And why did Mateo leave so soon?""I'm fine," h
November 20thTwo hours later, I was still lying beside my mate wide awake. I watched as his chest rose and fell with every breath and listened for every single heartbeat. Every now and then I would re-examine his wound to check if it was still healing- it always was. Slowly but surely. I know it's ridiculous of me to worry so much but I can't help it. Our personalities clash and we argue all the time but he is my mate and I love him all the same. The first movement was a slight twitch of
At 6 am I woke still on the sofa to the sound of the front door opening. Besides me and with his arm around my shoulder Connor still lay."There are fifteen beds in this house and you choose to sleep on the same sofa," Leo said."Leo," I said, breathing a sigh of relief as I got up to hug him.He kissed me on the lips before looking over to
November 27thA week later and Leo and I hadn't had another argument. We listened to each other, refrained from shouting and stopped the snide comments and the pointless disagreements. And it was all traced back to the forest escapade. Before, our personalities had been incompatible, constantly clashing as we battled one ano
