I really hadn’t wanted to walk away from Aurelia at the training grounds. Not just because I don’t like being away from her, but also I want to know what Alex wanted to talk to her about that involved quitting. If he’s quitting, that means I win the bet. It also means he’s as weak as I imagined.

I even let him join the fifteen-year-olds, so he had a better chance. But I should have put him in Hana’s group, judging by how badly Violet beat him today. Though my daughter’s already shown, she can kick his ass with little effort. I’ll have to wait till later to find out if he quit or not.

For now, I have meetings and work to do. My pack needs me to get things back on track with the threat of the Syndicate gone. They need me to sign off on different things and, of course, have one annoying question.
