A mile away from the northern borders, near a small village, a group of 6 men can be seen working in a corn field. They are wearing plain cotton clothes streaked with mud and dirt. They are covering their heads with a cotton turban. Despite their plain clothes and unappealing looks, all the men look well built and strong. A little farther away from the field, two men are watering the flower gardens. And a few men are milking the cows. One man among the dozen or so men stood apart. He is working in the corn fields along with the other five men. Even though they look like they are busy with their work, their eyes and ears are noticing everything, not missing even a small sound. Other villagers are working in and around the huge farm. No one suspected that their king is among them under the guise of a farm worker along with his warriors. He sent one of his spies to survey the situation near the northern borders. Just like he predicted, every one of his warriors has gone missing. He
"These are the people who are making our warriors disappear" Eros said, which made the others astonished. All the dozen men keenly began to observe the strangers with anger and mystery. None of them ever remember crossing paths with these strangers. But still, they are intentionally targeting the Were warriors. They all wanted to know why."What?" Dimitri gasped loudly with shock. Immediately he realised his mistake when the villagers who are nearby turned to look at Dimitri with matching frowns."Apologise your highness" he apologised for attracting unwanted attention. He then waved at the villagers to get back to their work. They misunderstood that their owner doesn't want them to look at those strangers. So they resumed back to their works.A few of the warriors took a step towards the strangers, but Eros stopped them."Not now" he cautioned them with a calculating look in his eyes. All the warriors along with Dimitri looked at Eros with surprise. But none of them dare to ask him
Iris is now closer to the scary-looking strangers. All four of them are looking at her with blank faces. Their olive-coloured skin tone and the black streaks on their faces is making them scary and intimidating. But she cannot let them take Thomas away. She reached the northern borders four days ago. Despite searching everywhere, she didn't find Eros or his men. She didn't find anyone suspiciously roaming near the borders either. When she began to get anxious and worried for Eros, she stumbled upon Thomas who accompanied Eros on this journey.Upon inquiring about the king, she found out that Eros asked his assistant to wait for him in an Inn near the northern borders. Thomas insisted to accompany his king, but Eros refused. Unable to do anything to change his king's mind, Thomas agreed to stay in the Inn. But he began to get worried when Eros didn't return even after a couple of days. So he decided to come to the borders to see what is going on there. But upon reaching the borders, h
Eros rushed to save Iris, who looked angry. But when he reached the group, he stopped dead in his tracks when his nostrils picked up the familiar unpleasant scent in the air. Unintentionally his mind wandered back to his father's human concubine, who made him get used to this particular scent. Initially, she made him sustain this gassy substance in small doses. When he used to feel sleepy, she used to force him to stay awake by diverting his concentration by something or the other. No one knows that she is making him do this. But after a few years, he came to a point where he is no longer affected by this unpleasant gas. Apart from mild headache, he used to feel normal. Even after he got used to the gas, she used to test him occasionally with huge doses of this gas when he went to visit her. 'Mother Tasha, why do you always make me smell this unpleasant gas?' teenage Eros asked her one day. She smiled fondly at him before replying. 'Eros, this is considered as the most powerful ga
"He is my father" she lied smoothly.Eros bit back his laughter when he heard her. 'Thomas would be horrified to find out that he now has a daughter ' he thought with mirth. Thomas is not mated yet. He dedicated his life only to serving Eros till now. He is loyal to Eros.Morris looked at Iris with a narrowed gaze filled with distrust."What? He is a werewolf and you are a human. How can you be his daughter? Are you lying to us human?" he asked Iris sceptically.Iris already expected this question. Initially, she doubted that they might be dangerous, but the longer she is in their presence, the more unsettled she is feeling. "Why will I even lie to you? I don't know who you are and why you are kidnapping my father. We are not rich to give money to you. You look like you have a lot of money of your own. You might not need anything from peasants like us. So why do I have to lie to you about my father?" She retorted confidently. She can see that they are not convinced. Nazar took a st
On the farm, near the northern borders, Eros, Iris, Dimitri and the Were warriors are silently looking at an unconscious Thomas. Each of them has the same thing going on in their heads. That is their enemy, the Golem. All of them fainted when Morris released the Golem gas intended for Iris. But it did nothing to her but made everyone else unconscious. None of them knows what happened after Iris began to confront them. Thomas is rubbing his heavy head with a deep painful frown. As he was the closest to Morris, he inhaled more gas and is just waking up from his induced sleep. "Ah, my head" he groaned with pain, as he slowly began to come out of the effects of the Golem gas. Eros looked at him with pity. He knows how much once headaches after they inhale too much Golem gas. He had experienced that and overcame from its effects, thanks to his stepmother Tasha. He began to get an inkling of doubt about what happened two years ago. 'Did she really murder my father?' he began to become
Iris is waiting for Morris near the same place where she met him. Her palms are sweaty and she is tensed. Eros explained who Morris is and to which race he belongs. She doesn't know much about the people of this world. But based on what she understood, they can be dangerous. Before knowing who Morris was, she was not this scared. But now, their mere thought makes her shiver with fear. Even though Eros wanted her to agree to go out with Morris, he was not at all willing to let her go when the time came for her to come here. She doesn't want to come either. But the lives of hundreds of Were warriors are hanging in the air. So she pretended as if she is completely fine with the idea of going on a date with a Golem man. One thing that is giving her a little solace is a fact that she is not affected by the Golem gas. She doesn't know why that is, but she is grateful nonetheless. "Hey" she is so lost in her head that she didn't notice Morris until the moment he came and stood right in fro
The night passed by uneventfully for some and a few had to go out of their comfort zone for something good. The next morning, in a huge cave-like structure that is hidden from everyone, Ojas, the leader of the Golem race is searching for his brother Morris. He searched the entire cave, but there is no sign of Morris anywhere. He saw Nazar coming out of his room while yawning. His face looks sleepy as if he just woke up. "Nazar, where is Morris?" Ojas asked. Nazar is shocked to hear that Morris didn't return yet. "What? He is not in the cave? Didn't he come back last night?" he muttered to himself with a frown. Then a thought crossed his mind. "Oh my, did he get lucky on the first date? Why is he always lucky with women? Why did i threaten that hot human? If i didn't, then i could have asked her out. i am an idiot" he scolded himself and became jealous of Morris. Ojas became impatient when Nazar began to talk to himself without replying to his question. "Nazar" he snapped angril
