The drive to my home was smooth.

Aside from Lucas’s numerous attempts to talk to me while he drove, the drive was pretty smooth. At some point, I felt bad for ignoring his chit chat but I also didn't want to give him too much opening.

Lucas has proven that he could misuse any opportunity of proximity.

The moment he stopped the car in front of the house, I felt my heart leaping for joy. My hands reached out to open the door as I couldn't contain the excitement any longer and I needed to inhale Ayden.

His room would be a good place to start.

“Do you want me to go in there with you?” Lucas asked as soon as I hopped out of the car.

Immediately, I rejected his offer. “No!”

Realizing that my tone was too harsh, I repeated myself but I was gentler this time. “No… You don’t have to. I will be fine.”

In all honesty, I didn't want Lucas within the walls of my home. It was Ayden’s home as well and I was certain that he wouldn't want Lucas snooping around our house. He wouldn’t
